Takeaway last Sunday- delicious- red duck curry and the stir fry seafood were highlights - no complaints and can’t wait to get to the other side of COVID19 to eat in.

Inthanon Thai is a small, modern restaurant on a bustling street in Northcote. I came here with my dad, and we were both craving  Penang Curry. Along with the curry, we ordered Son in Law eggs, curry puffs, and Larb Gai (a minced chicken salad). The son in law eggs came into the top 10 best things that I have EVER tasted. The sauce was almost like a soy sauce, but with a hint of sweetness. The eggs had a slightly gooey yolk, which made the whole dish heavenly. When the curry puffs came I had low expectations because they are usually dense and have very little flavour. It was my dad who had ordered it after all. But WOW, they were delicious. The puff had the perfect balance of filling, which was not at all under seasoned, and light, flaky pastry. When Larb Gai came, I wolfed right into it, which I sort of regretted. Although it had a lot of flavour, it was too spicy for me, and I can tolerate spice. However, anyone who has a very high tolerance for spice should try this dish. And finally, what we had been waiting for,  the Penang Curry. It was better than a lot of the curries that I had in Thailand. It was creamy, had a kick of spice and definitely satisfied my craving, as well as my dads. I will come back and highly recommend coming here, even if you live far away like me.

Best Thai food I've had in Northcote. Very nice atmosphere, excellent service. I was with two Malaysians friends who also agreed that the food was top notch. Loved it

TBH I was slightly reluctant to try this place at first. Their menu is cheaper than other Thai restaurants I've been to before and upon arrival, the restaurant was really quiet. There was only one waitress working and she was super cute! Her voice is really soft spoken so it was hard to hear but other than that she was really sweet.
Ok so I found the peanut sauce on the chicken skewers a little watery for my liking and lacked in flavour but the chicken wasn't dry so I wasn't too disappointed. Oh, what Thai restaurant doesn't serve papaya salad?! Anyway, I ordered the beef salad because I read in one of the reviews that it was the best. I found it lacking in flavour also but the hit of chilli in the dressing is... hrm how should I describe this? ...like a slap to the face (in a good way). I enjoyed all the dishes we ordered. I don't think this is the best Thai restaurant I've been to but it's certainly not the worst and I will definitely come back!

Overall the service was delightful and it's true that the vibe was soft and relaxing. The
gentle jazz/piano music complimented the busy afternoon street. They had a straight forward and easy to read menu but no pictures. There was small eating space but enough for 2 dishes.
We ordered the beef salad, pad see ew (stir fried flat rice noodles with egg and vegetables in dark soy sauce), gang panang (thai thickened red curry cooked in coconut milk, lime leaves and vegetables) and a bowl of white rice. $42 altogether.

First off the beef salad was the best dish that my mother and I both agreed on (my mother is a frequent Thai eater so she's tasted countless dishes). The beef did look dry at first but the taste said otherwise. It had a sweet, tangy dressing that greatly highlighted what Thai cuisine should taste like. The spiciness was very fitting: It wasn't too chilli like other restaurant's salads but wasn't too mild, and the freshness and crispiness of the salad, broken rice, cucumber and tomato complimented the beef.
Pad see ew was the second best out of the three but is just above average compared to other restaurants'. The portion it came in was small (but we had dishes before it so we weren't too picky). Beef was soft and tender. The flavours were very well balanced not to sweet or salty. Ingredients were fresh but the dish was oily.
Lastly the curry. It was debatable bc we both enjoyed the flavours of coconut, despite that, my mother said it was appalling. She said she couldn't eat much. But for me it was warm and soothing with the rice but there were only a few pieces of capsicum, chicken and green beans that were settled on the bottom. The ratio of vegetables to soup was off as there were a lot of soup left over. The flavour of the curry really depended on the individual. This dish was average; 5-ish/10.

This restaurant has such a relaxing ambiance and the music allows for conversations to flow. The service was exceptional with Bee and the chef attending to our needs with attention to detail. We ordered the prawns wrapped in potato, fish cakes, battered fillets in tangy sauce, slow cooked braised pork and Ithanon salad was cooked. Dishes were well flavoured andl balanced with sweet and sour tones and subtle herbs and crunchy textures. Definitely the best thai restaurant in the northern suburbs so far...

The best Thai restaurant of the Northside so far. Amazing balance flavour of all dishes. Tomyum soup is a must try entree , well balance , not too salty like almost of Thai I been before. Pad Thai 7/10, it's okay with me it should be more topping than a current dish. Anyway, Inthanon now in the familiar restaurant I have to come at least every month and of course, it's replaced the top one - Jinda Thai . Say good bye to long tired queue Jinda.

I would have given 5 rating but it lacks enough seating or rather spacious seating arrangement and finding parking can take up a lot of time over weekends.

A great Thai restaurant... Our experience is takeaway only. They are incredibly quick and friendly! The best thing is the consistency in their food, you'll always get your favourite dish the same way and it's always good quality and tasty.

Lovely staff, lovely food! Order the dumplings - not on the menu but those in the know, ask :) like a humungous crystal prawn dumpling, only with no prawns but rather a thai herb filling - different & refreshing and super yum. They don't have a big sign out the front and it's hidden behind the tram stop, but it's across the road from Northcote town hall on high street and worth the search.

Had the panang curry. It was excellent. First time here and the service was excellent. They checked in to make sure we were alright which was nice. My only suggestion was that there was no background noise.

Small portion size for the price, good flavours, not very authentic though. Awesome ambience and friendly staff.

Great little Thai restaurant. Been in the same hands for decades and this shows in the consistency of the food, always of a high standard. We had a birthday party for 12 people there, bought our own cake but various shared entrees, plentiful main courses and drinks came to about $42 per head with everyone very happy.

Excellent service with delicious food. All our dishes hit the spot. Nice and quiet if you want to have a decent conversation. It's quite popular for take away so if you want to avoid the draft try and sit away from the door

Ordered delivery at a peak time, and it arrived quite quickly. The red curry was tasty, creamy, and the level of spicy I ordered - full of chicken and veg. Would order from here again, haven't eaten in yet.
