Amazing staff and exceptional food. We love having breakfast and lunch at Short Black !
Came in for a late lunch on a Thursday afternoon after reading some good reviews about Short Black. Ordered a skim flat white to start which was astoundingly good. The news got better with the burger. I'm not normally a fan of thin pattied burgers, but this one was fantastic. Made with love (properly built up with the meat patties separated by tomato, pickle, and sauce), this burger tasted the part. This was accompanied by spot-on shoe-string fries, crispy, seasoned perfectly, and accompanied by a small pot of spiced mayo. Only downside was the burger bun was a bit small for the outsize burger, making it rather messy to eat, but you can use the knife and fork provided if you really must. Will bring my wife next time!

Had to wait about 5 minutes for a table because they had a full house and it wasn’t even 11am yet! Really shows how great their food and service is. The staff were efficient with getting us seated and promptly took our order. Our food and drinks came quite fast and everything was absolutely perfect. We ordered the sautéed mushrooms and the basic breakfast. Eggs were perfectly poached and scrambled the each bite of mushroom was bursting with flavour. Will absolutely be making this one of our regular cafes! If we can manage to get a seat.
I’ve been to this cafe a few times now. The staff are welcoming and attentive. They have a big range of food on the menu so there is something for everyone. The food has been consistently good and portions are quiet large. The place is usually pretty busy so you might not get a table straight away but service is quick so you don’t usually have to wait long.
The staff is always really lovely and welcoming! Food can be a bit bland/dry or too salty but is quite nice (although a little bit pricey). Really nice atmosphere to sit and chat!
I’ve been here with my wife and daughter a few times for breakfast and lunch and I’ve found the service is always great and the food there is beautiful. The staff were friendly and made us feel welcome, didn’t have to wait long for the food to arrive. Could easily go there again.
Family favourite! Great service great food and great atmosphere!! The owners are genuine people and all the staff have been amazing over the years! Love their breakfast the most but lunch is fantastic also. And most importantly the coffee delish would highly recommend to couples families and friends
Great food, great drinks, and great coffee. We came here on a busy Saturday morning, waited for 5mins and got a table. Ordered buttermilk fried chicken burger and steak sandwich, absolutely delicious! Nice neighbourhood gem! Will definitely come back as we live very close!

This place seemingly looks average but their breakfast/brunch menu is very good. Food is tasty, specials are always fun, food is always generous, shame about the coffee though. No Bonsoy
Best cafe in the area although a little pricey for main meals. Have been coming here for as long as I can remember and the food never fails to impress. A bit pricey for lunch but worth it if you don't go very often
Great coffee, delicious meals and fast service. It has ben beautifully renovated recently and looks amazing. A local gem.
Had Brunch with my wife here. Kept it simple and had a bacon & egg roll. It was delicious, especially the Turkish Roll. The good Lady Wife had a hot Chocolate and I had a Latte. For a Cafe called Short Black you would think that they would have their coffee sorted. It was Judy the right side of passable. Had better had worse. The inside is welcoming and pleasant. The service on the money and overall a good experience. Maybe my coffee was a one off. Will try again.

Was tasty juicy and so satisfying. Nice soft bun that held together until the last bite.

One step in the door and friendly helpful staff were at hand. Pleasantly surprised by the efficient service and the coffee was good. Busy with a great atmosphere.

Very friendly, the wait staff were quite efficient. Food was very nice and didn't take long to arrive. Good experience accept it is very noisy! You can hardly hear yourself speak.😬🔊
Had a very good experience here. Staff friendly and helped out right away with seating, menus and orders. Food came quickly, as well as the coffee. Excellent presentation and serving size as well. The coffee was just the right strength with a nice aftertaste. I liked how the babyccino was served in a real cup too. Really good work!
