We came here for dinner. We were greeted as soon as we entered. Of course we checked in for COVID and had to show proof of double vaccination. We then ordered our meals and drinks. Wow! The meals came out really quick. They are pretty big serves. The cheeseburger pizza, Caesar salad & potato wedges were amazing. We enjoyed the food so much but was quite full so took the leftovers home. We'll be back again

Great place to bring the kids and let them run amock in the large field/field area. The food is simple but very good the bumnut (jalapeno poppers) very yummy. Good selection of beers to enjoy for the adults. Good outing for a kid friendly meal.

One of the best meals we had in Perth.
The barramundi was delicious, fresh and juicy not overcooked. The pizza's great! The porterhouse with add on prawns; the prawns were succulent but the beef was a letdown, tough and chewy. The chicken parma was tasty, oozing hot cheese when served. The kids spaghetti is adult portion size for this bunch of Asian tourists.
Great outdoor space for children, plenty of room to run about while parents dine in peace.
Ben Forbes
Amazing vibe, great food - only gave 4 star because the tasting platter didn't have much cheese on it. But everything else was amazing, such a great place to kick back and chill on a Sunday afternoon with the family.

Attended my son's wedding last night in the separate beer garden. The venue and food were fantastic. The place throughout was very busy and the atmosphere was great. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Will definately be going back with my wife for dinner soon.

Good Food and service was great. We had the steak sandwich and the Mexican Salad with a ginger beer. Wait time was minimal.
Christina M Giuffre
Good food but slow service, spent more time waiting in line for food then drink than with my family. Not a great experience for a birthday even though we booked in advance.
Sam Carter
Ok I've been here many many many times and they deserve at least 5 stars.
Service it's consistently good, friendly, happy, hard-working, genuine. The people that work here seem to actually like their workplace.
The food- consistently very good. I think they do better food than Blasta. Blasta has lost its kitchen consistency lately, but this place has cooks/ chefs that can balance flavour, quality and the pub feeling. I had the best seafood chowder of my life here. Desserts are yummy.
Ambiance is chill compared to across the street. The pub across the street consistently make their customers feel unwelcome. The place across the street also has food that's pretty average, maybe even below average.
Thanks for providing consistent quality all this time! And give the kitchen staff a raise 😂

One of my fave places to go in the area. The food is delicious and the staff are super friendly. With kids you want a place where the kids can run around without making them sit at a table the whole time. Will continue to visit. If I can maybe add anything else it would be maybe to add a small playground for the kids. Ps the pizza is amazing

Great food, great service and great atmosphere - what more could one ask for. Awesome evening with a group of 20 - top quality & delicious food even for me the fussy vego - pumpkin pizza was top rated. What impressed me the most was the kids chicken nuggets - real ones not processed crap. Thanks so much - we will be back

Came today to try the pulled braised brisket roll and it was to die for!!!!!! Credit to the visiting chef for creating a delicious meal. I really do hope you consider putting it as a permanent item on your menu. Love the vibe here will definately return.

We had my husband’s 70th birthday party at The Hen and had about 35 guests ranging from toddlers to people of our own age. I cannot speak highly enough of the staff. They are exceptional! On arrival they helped me put up decorations in the marquee and throughout the afternoon they constantly checked that everything was satisfactory They helped me plan a lovely menu for the day within our budget which consisted of their gourmet pizzas, salads and tasting platters. The food was plentiful and delicious. When they brought out our birthday cake it was resplendent in sparklers and candles and they encouraged everyone to sing happy birthday to my husband. Our guests loved the venue, the relaxed atmosphere and the children were able to run in the playing area while still being seen by their parents. Thank you to all the staff at The Hen for making our day so very special.

I can't fault anything!!!
We tried the scotch egg yesterday and O M G it is to die for! Of course the pork belly is still one of my faves, but definitely a thumbs up for the scotch egg!!

Love this place, the location, the suurounds, great food and service. Perfect place to lay in the grass and have a drink and food. Kids can run free and our puppy is welcome!

Such a great place to catch up and bring the kids along. When we were there last wkend the musician they had was AWESOME (his name was TJ O'Donovan). Great food, great music and great vibes for the whole family

The best place in The Swan Valley. Tasty food, excellent staff and great atmosphere. Totally love this place

The Hen is our local & I never thought I would ever give a one star rating as it is by far the best restaurant in the valley. However after being treated appallingly by one young waitress I’m very disappointed. It ruined our night & im sure it was felt by the rest of the staff that had to step up & cover her table. The other staff were amazing, it just shows how one unprofessional member can impact a whole team. We are regulars & I have had a problem before.
Tim Bransby
Best place in the Valley. Food, service and atmosphere always on point.

Great place with a warm vibe. Staff and food were top notch. Best place to spend a cold autumn day infront of a crackling fire.

Awesome place. Friendly staff. Great music. Friendly drummer. 😊
Kathy Shannon
Great place. Great Food. Great Staff. Great Prices. Our first time there yesterday. Will be back for sure. So nice to go somewhere for a meal and the staff are friendly, approachable and so happy it makes your day out that much better. Thank you to the staff for such a great day at [322793671177921:The Henley Brook]

I’ve been to The Hen 3 times now. The first was for an engagement party which was a beautiful setting under the marquee. The second trip I took the pooch down, the staff were completely accommodating by bringing him water immediately and even a few sneaky pats! And again tonight for an early tea. The venue is absolutely stunning, but unfortunately the food just doesn’t live up to the price they charge. Ive tried quite a few dishes over the 3 visits and every time I have been disappointed. Not only that but the portion sizes are extremely small. I’m all for a nice expensive dinner every now and again but the food has to warrant it - and unfortunately here it just doesn’t cut it. The staff are wonderful and the venue is perfect for a few drinks in the sun but there are plenty of options in the area elsewhere to get higher quality food for the same price.

Went today. Didn’t have a booking. Was told there was no tables but the staff set up a picnic blanket for us. There looked to be many empty tables around but for all we know they could have been reserved. Food was fresh and service was speedy.

Lovely place for Lunch. Accommodated 11 of us. Good food at reasonable prices. Staff are friendly and helpful!

Ordered the Chicken Ballotine, lamb rump, local barra and pork belly!!! AMAZING TASTE and QUALITY.

I would rate this place more of a 3.5 and not quite a 4 star despite my rating.
We stopped into The Henley Brook by chance as we passed by on a sunny winters day. The place was buzzing with people and it had a really great family friendly vibe with plenty of things to keep the kids occupied. We ordered the Pecking Plate for two and, while it looked absolutely divine, when you dissect each part of the dish it fell just slightly short. I would have rathered a greater array of cured meats or cheeses over the pâté and terrine. The caramelised onions were a great addition however. The staff were friendly and efficient also.

Had a nice lunch here today. My chicken burger was yummy, but a tad on the smaller side. My mum had mushroom pizza which smelled divine and tasted pretty good. The downers: waiting at the till for over 10 minutes to order. Food took quite awhile to come out, with the pizza coming out a good 15 or more minutes before the rest. We also shared the sangria which was quite plain for my liking, not much fruit, only a few slices of oranges. I was disappointed when the smore I was looking forward to having for dessert wasn’t available. Staff friendly but hard to get ahold of someone without going to the till and no one checking on us during our meal. Nice atmosphere inside, and great if you had kids fit outside, heaps of space for them to run around. Prices average to slightly more pricey. Would probably go back because I did enjoy the food.

Thursday lunch 1 staff at bar .other staff walking by not helping .i was told they had no RSA licence. People waiting at the door for a long time for table and the place was 20% full . Hope the staff culture doesnt end up like the brooks . Went back for Melbourne cup 2019 .they haven't learnt poor food BIG queues .went back 29th jan 2019 last time ever 4th let downs over priced pizza and little guy with glasses who greets you NEVER SMILES..good riddens

Went out for a casual dinner- a fun family/drinks with friends vibe to ‘ The Hen’.
Had the pesto bread with chorizo, olives and feta for starter- ahh seriously yum!!
Mains- buttermilk chicken burger ( a few cheeky pickles with a zingy mayo make it extra delish) and chicken parmy. Both tasty- and well priced; the parmy was massive!!!! Only down fall parmy tomato sauce probs could do with a bit of vamping up- but the chicken was cooked to perfection.
Good selection of local beers and wines- would recommend the hen for a tasty pub meal 👍
Jay Cee (Stripey)
if you like small serves at a high price order the classic pork belly, will disappoint.
good atmosphere, service, location and music the food tastes ok too.

Dropped in on the off chance on a Saturday for lunch and glad I did. Good honest pub food on the menu. I had the beef burger and it was great. Ambience inside is nice (fyi toilets very clean with up-spec finishes). Outside garden area is great for the kids to run around on the grass. I will come back again. N

Pretty underwhelmed by our experience at the Henley Brook, the food was ok and the setting was really nice but the service was despicable! The person that greeted us was rude and unaccommodating to the baby that was with us. When we joined on another table we were barked at. Then when placing the order the staff member that served us was also quite rude! Very disappointing, we understand they were busy but there was no need for this service just because we didn’t have a prior booking. I probably wouldn’t go here again.

Went on a Saturday evening. Decor is great, good vibe and average food. Had the mushroom burger, not the best taste - sweet potato overpowers the mushroom. Portions are a little on the small side. Not the worst meal I have had. But don't think I'll be rushing back.
Chris
Being a relatively new joint the setting feels fresh and inviting, with a certain energy about it that probably owes as much to the ambience as it does to the friendly and uplifting service.
It was fairly busy so we ended up being seated outside, which was quite pleasant -- the modern jazz band playing laid back renditions of popular hits was a nice touch -- however they need to get bigger shades as only half of our family escaped the direct sun.
Unfortunately the food was a bit of a let down. The menu sounded fantastic however the execution of the dishes failed to keep pace. The pork belly was overcooked and slightly unpleasant to eat; the fat not rendered properly and the skin lacked that satisfying texture that is a staple of this type of dish. The tasting plate was ok, with the terrine being the highlight, however the cheddar was unremarkable and tasted like it came from Coles.
Would love to rate this place higher as I think they're on to a good thing, which I'm sure they will given a bit more time.
Spoonful Of Em
I'm so disappointed in my experience here. The atmosphere and set-up is beautiful and there's so much potential for a wonderful evening. The menu is fantastic but unfortunately the food did not meet expectations. It's okay to go up and order but the wait staff were non-existent for the rest of the evening. It would be nice to be offered water or even offer to clear our plates but that's not done until we exit the building. Even when I asked for the plates to be cleared they weren't done. I organised a cake for my friends birthday and it was brought out without any knife or plates. When we asked for plates we were given plastic plates and cutlery. I'm so upset with how the evening panned out and I won't be recommending this place to anyone anytime soon.
Truth Be Told Australia
Really enjoyed a Saturday afternoon here with a few of us. Great atmosphere, and very cool vibe. A bonus is
You can book tables , so that was a plus. We had a mixture of pizzas and wedges and all were thoroughly enjoyed .The stand out was the prawn pizza, cheesey and lovely crunchy prawns . The music finished a little early, however that will not turn us away, will return here and recommend for sure.
Threesquaremeals
Visited "The Hen" on a Saturday afternoon. Nice warm atmosphere with friendly staff. Ordered a chicken pizza, wedges and 2 middies of tap beer. The ordering system was a little weird in that we received the beers from the bar, a buzzer to collect the pizza and a table number for the wedges to be brought out. The big portion of wedges ($12) came out almost immediately after we ordered which was great! The pizza took much longer, and once we got 3/4 through the wedges we decided to go back to the counter and ask for the pizza to be in a box for take away once it was ready.
Would recommend The Hen for families/group gatherings - food prices are good, and its kid friendly with a big outdoor area and activities.

Disappointed. Went for ribs, they had no ribs left. Food we got was ok. Staff very friendly and outgoing. Will come back sometime and hopefully get ribs!!!!
Love Eating Out
We went for lunch on a sunny Monday following a nice drive in the Swan Valley. The décor and location is great. We sat outside and were surprised there was quite a few others there too. (Mondays can be quiet).
The staff were friendly but it was a little bit unusual that you had to go to 2 different counters to order food and then drinks (and we had to wait a little while at both for service).
We ordered the Portofino pizza and the crumbed mushroom burger. We were a little disappointed with both. The pizza was just lacking in flavour and even though the pizza bases were freshly made, they tasted a bit like shop bought ones. The burger was ok, but not great and the chips were a little stale. Not sure if we just got a bad day, but we were hoping for a delicious meal, which we didn't really get.

July 2018.
We thought we'd give this place another go. The fire inside was warm and toasty. Mum had the fish tacos which we nice and we ordered the chips which were great and a very large serve. We also ordered the veg pizza but sadly the base was still lacking. Shame considering the woodfired pizza oven. It was just a little doughy and seemed like shop bought one.

I've heard lots of good things about this place so he girls and i decided to come here on ANZAC day for a girly date. We ordered the chicken pizza, squid tentacles, mac and cheese bites and a bowl of wedges. Our eyes are clearly bigger than our stomachs because we couldn't finish everything and the waitress kept asking us if we wanted a takeaway container to take the food home (which got really annoying because she made a joke about it about 4 times). The servings are generous and friendly priced, definitely a good place to come in big groups or if you kids. I'm a moscato fan and the "The Family" moscato is really nice! Next time i'll be bringing a picnic rug to enjoy the outdoor area. :)

This place has such a cool atmosphere. Good place if you have kids, plenty of room for them to run around. Good selection from the menu. Although it took a little while for our meals to come out. Good prices. The squid tentacles were amazing! I'd definitely return!
Ems A Foodie
What great food & a great place for families too with plenty of grass and picnic rugs available. Staff were super friendly & energetic too! Salt n pepper squid was yummy and the chicken and prosciutto pizza was delicious! Half price pizzas on Thursday's! The lamb ribs were a little over cooked and not overly flavoursome, need a good crack of salt or some chilli!
KutsikFood
The Hen is in its infancy, it was planned from the ground up and this shows in its sleek design, and comfortable decor. Inside fire and gorgeous outdoor area where the kids or kid like adults can run around or even set out a picnic blanket. Sometimes there is even a petting zoo there! Food is lovingly made and very consistent. You must try the numnuts, beer battered jalepeno filled with a divine cream cheese filling. Bar staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. They will be happy to take you through there beers if you have trouble deciding.
Ieat2much
Nice restaurant, nice location, price over average food was average, ordered the pork belly and the pecking plate and 2 soft drinks for $61, would go back to try other dishes

Reminicent of Margaret River wineries/breweries. We enjoyed our meals and found the prices to be very reasonable. It is great that there is somewhere open on a Monday! It's an 'order at the counter' arrangement - good for groups who wish to pay separately.

Like the family friendly atmosphere and outdoor space. The service and the food have not disappointed to date . Try the yummy Eton mess for dessert🙂. The dessert menu changes from time to time, never boring. Do not miss on your next outing to the Swan Valley, book to be sure you get in.
Yum Yum
Really enjoyed a Sunday sesh at this place it accommodated everyone needs with plenty of room for kids and adults. The food looks good with large portions. Will def be back for round two.
Duck Tales
This place is very relaxing and child friendly. Even when busy you have room to move and are not cramped. Found to food to be good. Not great but not bad. Great place to go for a beer and to enjoy the swan valley
Travelling Corkscrew
Last month we visited The Henley Brook on West Swan Road for the first time. We’d heard a lot about this new pub and restaurant in our neck of the woods yet every time we attempted to go there, it was fully booked. Despite the annoyance of this, we thought it must be a good sign. So Fizzy and Crackle (yes the cats) decided it would be nice for me to take Mr. Spittoon out for Father’s Day. I am sure you all know by now I am a crazy cat lady, so this should really come as no surprise.

Wow the food here is amazing 👍 been here a few times ...very busy on the weekend with lots of kiddies ...value for money ...will keep coming back for the food ❤️
Thomas Lynch
Love this place but damn is it always busy! Been a few times now and the food has been on point!! If your in the Swan Valley and want some good tasting food a wide selection of boutique beers and a great atmosphere you need to give this place a crack

(be prepared to be slightly confused with the ordering process at first but it isn't a huge issue)
The Chefs Wife
The Henley Brook is an exciting addition to the Swan Valley. It’s been open a few months, but it took me a while to get a booking at the immensely popular venue, affectionately known as “The Hen”. The staff were really accommodating, though The Hen was almost fully booked, squeezing us into an early lunch spot at 11am. We could have the table for an hour and a half, which luckily was plenty of time.
Happy Diner
The Henley Brook on West Swan road if you could measure the success by the cars in the car park it may give the impression of everything is wonderful. Henley Brook on West Swan road (HEN) has opened it doors during the time people who live in Ellensbrook, Bullsbrook and all places in-between are commuting home where the rest stay closed.
Warm, inviting, open fire, great selection of beers on tap locally produced.
The ordering process is a little awkward, food and drinks must be ordered separately and the food counter is not always manned, in my last 3 visits only once haven't had to wait for a staff member to show up, the bar staff obviously though it was too hard to walk 4 steps. The Hen has table service but be warned if anyone on your table orders a pizza he or she will be given a fish and chip shop style remote buzzer to go and collect your own food, even though there is a window between the kitchens.

Food 6/10
A good selection of tradition pub food always well presented and if you didn't order a pizza delivered to the table by friendly staff reasonably quickly.
The last three times i have been three i have order the following:-
American style beef burger, red Leicester cheddar, onion marmalade, charcoal bun,
mustard aioli and pickles with fries. Great but i thought the Red Leicester cheese didn't have the strength to make it special, making it quite bland.

Hen House Chicken Parmy, with smoked ham, semi dried tomato fondue, smoked cheese and crunchy gourmet potatoes, huge serving the most chicken i have ever had in a Parmy but the lack of a tomato punch left it a little tasteless.

Meatball, salami, mushroom, red peppers, olive, Spanish onion... But i added Jalapenos and it hit the spot.. great pizza, only thing that let it down as my wife ordered from the Big Plates and as i collected the pizza it was a while before her food was ready so we could eat together.

Service 5/10
Bar staff are friendly and helpful, but the whole food ordering and delivery process needs some re-inventing and the need to chain someone to the food counter or just get rid of it and put on the end of the bar so you order drinks at he same time?????

Ambiance 9/10
Tastefully decorated, warm open fire, none crammed seating.
Morsels
The Henley Brook – also known as The Hen, which I’ll use from here to save on syllables – is a new tavern & bistro located on West Swan Road in the Swan Valley. It’s less than 15 minutes from home (Ellenbrook) for us, and is just about the closest thing outside of the town center for those who live in the area. It’s also well located for those visiting the many great destinations and attractions in the Swan Valley.
