I was excited to try a proper francesinha but this didn't seem the best, especially with the very high price. It was a meaty sandwich, sure, but covered in cheap cheese and a bland beer sauce. The feijoada was outta sight though, very tasty and a much bigger serve than the sandwich despite being cheaper.

Went here with a group of five people for a feed before heading on. We overordered to say the least. My partner and I both got a Espenada which came with a bowl of fries and a salad, My friend got a stew and another couple we went with shared a range of tapas. The espenada comes out on the rack and is so tender. It was absolutely amazing. The fries were great and way to big of a serving but the salad could have used some dressing so we both tossed our salads asside. I would say one espenada w chips n salad is enough for two people for sure. I would also say that it is a must try! My friend who had the stew loved his and the serving size was huge. If you combined bread i reckon that would have also been big enough for two. The Tapas our friends ordered were the stuffed octopus(didn't like)the chorizo(bit dry but very cool as you cook on your own)the prawns(they loved these)and more. The drink list was not bad. I had a glass of red sangria however you could do 1L or a 1/2L if youd preferred. Whilst this place isn't the most stylish place we've been to, it certainly has the traditional, no frills, european style to make you feel at home. I would definately return for this but i would be ordering a lot less.

Wonderful food! Friendly service and the traditional Portuguese ambience is a huge plus definitely recommend who aren't familiar to Portuguese food!

The sangria is famous for a reason! The clams for pesticos is a must! And the soupy seafood rice has a nice spice kick to it! There are probably other dishes worth eating but these are a few I had!

First visit to a Portuguese restaurant so I wasn't sure what to expect and I have nothing to compare with, but the food was very delicious and good value for money. The chorizo grilled on the table was quite nice. I also liked the octopus salad and the sandwich stack. I would definitely return to try the other items on the menu.

Gloria's does a fantastic job at providing restaurant quality Portuguese favourites in Australia. (Portuguese food is notoriously hard to recreate outside of Portugal). You can feel the love and passion at Gloria's to share Portuguese food with Australia.

We ate in. I recommend eating in if you want to get a proper Portuguese experience.

The highlight for me was the guisado de carneiro tapa (lamb stew), which was very soft, rich and delicious. Even in the peak of summer we enjoyed it.
The feijoada (typical bean & meat dish) was done very well, and we all really enjoyed it.
The camaroes (big prawns) were fantastic, and worth ordering.
The Polvo Grelhado (grilled octopus salad) is a quintessential Portuguese summertime food - Gloria's version was pretty nice.
I recommend ordering one of the chourico grelhado na mesa - this is the traditional Portuguese method of cooking chourico over flames at your table - definitely worth trying!!!
The pasteis de bachalhau (savoury codfish pastry /croquette) were really good - this is a food that you find almost everywhere in Portugal but it can be very hit and miss. Gloria's version was delicious!!!

Gloria's is fantastic, and I wish there were more Portuguese restaurants like this in Australia so that people could get an appreciation for REAL Portuguese food (NOT fake Nandos or Oportos).

We will come back :-)

We got a Groupon deal because it sounded just too good to pass up. Six course tapas for 2 with a glass of sangria each for less than a movie ticket and popcorn. You get this authentic Portuguese feel when you walk in. The walls are lined with faded photos of Portugal, our waitresses had Spanish accents and just like that you're no longer in Petersham. I would love to come back here and try dishes from their al a carte menu, our preselected dishes were decent but I have a feeling this little restaurant has so much more to offer.

I tried the takeaway menu, which was a beef burger and chips for $9. Sat down for a while as I waited. The food was good, with a range of vegetables in the burger, and quite a lot of chips. Would say it's an okay amount for $9.Might return.

We come here with a Groupon deal which buys us drinks, garlic bread, and five different tapas. The tapas are mostly well done and taste alright, however they are quite an ordinary selection of menu items

Gloria's is a lovely little restaurant in Petersham which serves up hearty and yummy Portuguese food, something i hadn't tried before being invited her by Sydneyguyrojoe last night. Since there were 4 of us including Passionate Foodies and Gabbys79 we decided to share all the food so we can all try a little bit of everything we ordered. For mains we went with the Alentejana (which is a dish consisting of diced pork with fried clams and diced cubed potatoes, coriander and vege pickles), the seafood paella as well as the Lulas Recheadas c/ batatas cozidas (calamari stuffed with bacon, bread and pine nuts in a tomato based sauce). For tapas we had the Portuguese style prawns, pork chorizo grilled on the table, meatballs cooked in a tomato and capsicum sauce and grilled octopus with tomato, olive oil and onion. Everything was delicious and very well cooked and each dish was as good as the next brought to the table. I particularly enjoyed the octopus and the Alentejana, which was my personal favourite. The only dish on the menu I didn't enjoy was the stuffed calamari, which is the reason my rating is 3.5. Had we not ordered it my rating would have been much higher. Not sure why I didn't like it but everyone else did so its personal preference i guess. Customer service was great and our waitress was wonderful. She was really nice and attentive the entire time we dined there.
All in all, Glorias is lovely and I recommend you go there at least once and try it. I especially recommend the Alentejana and grilled octopus tapas.

Absolutely the best Portuguese restaurants, seafood - prawns, cod, octopus, sardines, is the best of the best, also skewer meat is VERY delicious. HOWEVER the shop is seems like to be closed (and been closed...), I am soooo sad and hopefully the owner is reconsider to continue the business.

One of the most genuine Portuguese restaurants you can visit in Sydney. Lovely interior and super friendly staff will make your dinning unforgettable. Food is fantastic and desserts are spectacular. We'll definitely return!

Went here on a whim on a Friday night and was delightfully impressed. If you're looking for a typical mama papa styled restaurant, this is the place. What I liked the most was the grilled dried salted cod fish. The meat was tender and succulent for a dried piece. One improvement could be the addition of a slice of lemon on the side. Also impressed with the service and it was manned by three ladies on a Friday night. Would definitely come back again.

Finally went to Gloria's Portuguese Tapas Restaurant for the Francesinha à Casa ($28). It’s Croque Madame on steroids: a thick-cut sandwich of beef steak, sausage, chourico, egg, ham covered with melted cheese, thick and spicy tomato sauce with hand-cut fries round potatoes. Be still my defibrillating heart! Rounded out the meal with some tapas - barbecued sardines, calamari stuffed with bread, bacon and pine nuts, and an everything-but-the-kitchen-sink style dish, Porco à Alentejana of pork, vongole clams, patatas bravas, olives and other vegetable pickles. This is home-style, authentic Portuguese cooking from a restaurant that has been serving the good people of Petersham since 1988! Good social distancing and increased hygiene measures in place.

This was the first Portuguese restaurant I've been in Sydney (I don't believe there too many others) but I see no reason to look for another one, ok maybe to compare the prices, even though the pastel de bacalhau was delicious, we didn't like to pay 4 dollars each. The Bacalhau na Chapa was really good as it was the Camarão ao Alho, this last one a bit expensive (AUD 19) for 7 good sized prawn if you compare with the price of the Bacalhau plate (AUD 32). I was almost two years without eating bacalhau and I left the restaurant more than happy! So, despite the price, if you want some good Portuguese food and environment, I highly recommend you to visit them. Cheers!

I had a craving for Bacalhau (Portuguese salt dried codfish) and some Portuguese friends recommended this place. Gloria's did not disappoint! As others have said this place is a wonderful authentic, rustic, home cooked style restaurant. Very non-pretentious and very generous with serving sizes (befitting of its home cooked vibes). I recommend getting the Sangria, and as you'd expect their Portuguese Tarts are amazing. The most authentic I've had in Sydney.

Great little restaurant. Food was very tasty and a great variety. They also have a great choice of tapas but we only asked for mains. We had their lamb stew, feijoada ( red bean stew) and seafood stew and of these are comfort food and perfect for winter. Highly recommend
