Amazing food highly recommend, well worth the drive from Frankston, will come again!!
Pierrick has done it again! What a beautiful, elegant and spacious brunch cafe with his incredible desserts. I’m so glad to see the lemon tarts again, the new Charlotte Tiffany tastes as good as it looks stunning. This is a place to have more than just a coffee. The Shroom is by far my favorite from his savoury menu although my friends can’t get over the eggs Benedict! Keep it up chef, can’t wait to be back!
Placed a takeaway order and I couldn’t have been happier with it! I ordered the petit fours (which I assume is different from time to time) and got to taste 9 amazing desserts. The ones that really stuck with me are the macarons, lemon tart & hazelnut soft and crunchy! If you want to try a range of Reverie’s cakes without having to finish whole cakes or single serve slices, this is the way to go.
I also got the almond croissant and I’m officially hooked! I love almond croissants and theirs are so good. They’re not overwhelming and are perfectly balanced, and the almond frangipane is absolutely delicious.
Lovely cafe near Prahran Station. Ham and Cheese Omelette and Wagyu Burger were delicious and great value for money. Even got free pastries as we went bear closing time!
Today Reverie Cafe played host to the charity event “Cooking For Australia” where owner Pierrick Boyer along with three other well known chefs created unique canapé dishes with donated ingredients to provide urgent funding to fire relief charities. The standard of food was exceptional as was the generousity of serving staff and chefs for donating their time to such a good cause. Much of the food we tried wasn’t from the menu but Pierricks contribution to the canapés came in the form of decadent almond chocolate cake, lemon meringue, berry brownies and hazelnut soft and crunch ( the texture of this last one was something else indeed). A name change to this venue from our last review but still the same quality food and a wonderful atmosphere.

Previous Review
Today we dined on a bloggers table at the recently opened Pierrick Boyer Cafe Patisserie. This cafe is light and bright with soft tones, green plants which was a lovely cheerful welcome on a wet and wintery day.
We were lucky to be joined by Pierrick himself, who talked us through his journey so far and decision to leave Le petite gateaux, where he was head chef, and start his own cafe/patisserie.
As a table we shared a range of brunch items including Eggs Benedict/ Florentine, chill crab scramble, croque madam, shrooms, ricotta hotcakes and sides of hash browns and ham croquettes.
The Hash Browns with a super crunchy coating, yet thick soft salty potato filling, I can describe these in one word, incredible. These are a must try side addition to any order.
We had Eggs Florentine with Kale and also the Eggs Benedict on a ham hock, both dishes had hollandaise sauce that was OMG amazing and absolutely authentic. I think this will be the only way I eat kale from here on in. (Loaded in hollandaise!). The ham hock meat in the Benedict was generous and tender but most importantly, flavoursome.
I don’t normally choose Shrooms but these were an exceptionally flavorsome mushrooms on toast. These shrooms were cleverly layered over the top of some sticky onion jam, a real winning combination.
The chilli soft shell Crab scramble had a fab hit of fresh chilli, for me it was the perfect amount, not enough to destroy your taste buds, but a substantial kick start for brunch.
We also tasted the Croque madam, with a great bechamel cheese and ham combo topped with a fried egg. The fried sourdough is a crunchy and savory hit.
Last but definitely not least, The ricotta hot cakes baked with rhubarb, they were not too sweet, the sprinkled nuts and seeds gave a great crunch and lightened up these hot cakes. I am very biased over anything containing rhubarb but certainly recommend you try this dish.
We finished off our meal with a generous selection of patisserie cakes which were decadent in so many ways. These were all made in house and with much care.
My favourites included the Charlotte Fraise, and the Charlotte Tiffany, layered dessert with a sponge with a delicate chocolate mousse was the most delicious combination of either strawberry or blueberry in the Tiffany blur version.
I also loved the Tiramisu tart which had subtle coffee flavour in a rich chocolate filling. This was encased in the most delicate pastry shell, I loved the short crumb and lovely cream on top.
Pierrick Boyer Cafe/ Patisserie run cooking classes for both adults and kids, plus they will soon be bringing in a range of delicious gelato flavours which I can’t wait to come back and try very soon.
Thanks so very much for having us both in.
Beautiful restaurant for lunch or afternoon tea. Lots of delicious cakes to choose from. Staff are very friendly as well.
Always friendly, fresh and a beautiful setting for a coffee or full meal. Perfect Melbourne location! I love the other venues too (Ella and Doncaster) for a mix of vibes, but always the same excellent standard of food and coffee!
We’ve been here a few times and without fail each time the service has been quick, friendly and without issue. The food is delicious and we’ll priced, and the coffee is good too. It’s also rarely overcrowded so you’re likely to find a table quickly. Really can’t say anything bad about it, such an easy and good weekend brunch spot!
4.5 ⭐
Thumbs up! Beautiful and spacious cafe, smooth and creamy latte, absolutely gorgeous cake and great service. Nothing not to love from here.
I recommend my best duo, a mug of Latte and Charlotte Tiffany. Yuuum!
Reverie Cafe & Desserts by renowned French pastry chef Pierrick Boyer impresses with its range of pastries and sweet treats but it’s not all about dessert here.
The menu boasts a solid selection of brunch favourites with plenty of vegetarian and vegan dishes to choose from. We loved both of the savoury dishes we sampled. The dish of miso cauliflower was an umami-laden amalgamation of baked cauliflower, brown and black rice, edamame, cucumber, furikake and miso dressing. The Mushroom Lovers was similarly delicious. Think mixed mushrooms, kale, whipped tofu, sorrel pesto and almond dukkah served atop crusty toast. Just yum!
Amazing decor. I’m a savory lover and the crispy egg was amazing. Of course Pierrick’s cakes are to die for.
Incredible pastries, incredible venue and incredible service... I loved every moment spent at this beautiful cafe and patisserie. In a back street of Prahran is this stunning cafe...decorated in pretty pastel tones with gorgeous furniture, lighting and atmosphere. The decor really is a dream. But it doesn't end there.
Pastries and cakes created by master patissier Pierrick Boyer are a treat for the eyes. Rows of gorgeous pastry creations are so tempting, that you soon forget about calories, and just can't wait to indulge. The cakes and eclairs are stunning, but on this occasion I had a hazelnut croissant which was fantastic, and something a little different to the usual almond croissant. So flaky with a delicious frangipane and perfect nutty topping. Along with the fab coffee, it was a real treat.
The service is top notch, and it's a great destination for a sneaky, indulgent snack; something a little more substantial, or some pastries or chocolates to take home. The fact that there are now three locations across Melbourne suggests that the popularity of these pastries is contagious!!
Menu seems limited at first. But quality is good. Had the sausage and beans with toast and chips. Taste on point. Plus you can get dessert from their counter for take home dessert.
Honestly, I didn't know what to expect coming to this café, lo and behold I now hold high expectations every time I go for a coffee and croissant.
The best croissants in Prahran, without question. So airy, and they are the cheapest around at $4.50, which is nuts in comparison to the other cafes' surrounding them who charge in excess of $6.
Maria makes an amazing latte and highly regard her coffee.
But don't get me started on the other sweets and pastries they have available because I'll be here all day raving about them, you'll need to try them for yourselves.
Reverie is our local coffee shop just underneath our office. Absolutely love this place. Coffee is absolutely fantastic. Service is great too and whilst I have not tried the food it looks and smells delicious. Many thanks keep it up
Collect my cake on my cat's birthday to share with neighborhood today.
Reverie Cafe, Warm welcoming, stylish and really enjoyable every time visit. my favorite Cafe in Prahran with wonderful delighted experience.
Love all the work the owner build up on such high quality standard even better than some five star hotels cafe, his professional hospitality team is amazing too😊. 👏👏👏
Thank you friendly staff Kelly, love the coffee you made and your big smile make my day more beautiful today. 👍
Due to covid, our breakfast place in StKilda, was not open, so we travelled to Prahran, to a Cafe we had lunch at a few times (always good). It was open, suffering from covid like so many. The breakfast was delicious. The service friendly. The coffee rich of flavour. The owner a fabulous man putting his heart into his cooking. The pastries mouth watering. I give them 6 stars out of 5. Give them a try.
This place is an absolute treat.
I have been wanting to properly sit and eat at Reverie for a while as I used to follow the chef Pierrick Boyer on instagram for a number of years.
The staff are incredibly warm, friendly and hospitable and it is a joy to receive their service every time.
The cakes are nothing short of delectable. A long-time favourite is the chocolate hazelnut cake with the mango puree layer - absolutely unique flavour.
The lived up to the standard of cake too. We ordered french toast with a fried egg on top and finished off the meal with an almond croissant and lemon meringue tart. It was indulgence but honestly worth it. If you are looking for an exquisite french patisserie experience, look no further than Reverie
