THIS is hands down the most authentic vietnamese you're going to get on the Northside. The flavours kick, and they even make their own pork terrine that they include as a side to dishes. Downside, the service – it's really not that hard to smile, but hey.. at the end of the day it's not the service you're eating.
This is definitely my favourite Preston restaurant. The staff are great and the pork and century egg congee is absolutely delicious!! I love their iced coffee too. Everything I've eaten here has been amazing. Very clean restaurant 👌
My Tho is smaller than its counter parts across High St, meaning it's always busy but worth the wait. We ordered 2 bowls of Bun Bo Hue and it came out within 10 minutes during the lunch rush. I was very impressed. The portion size is generous, there was a lot of meat and the broth was perfectly spicy and not overly oily. I would go back to try the other dishes.
Such great food! I had the BBQ rockling and my husband the pork vermicelli. Friendly, quick service, tasty food, good prices and free tea and watermelon to finish. Will definitely be back.
I haven’t had wonton noodle soup for some time so I decided to visit this restaurant.
The service was absolutely charming from all the waitstaff and I was pretty impressed. The food was cooked to order and it was worth the wait.
My wonton noodle soup came with egg noodles but I ordered rice noodles instead. The wontons were plump and tasty. Perfect.
The broth had a good salty flavour w a hint of chicken stock to it.
The dish has some sliced pork which was nice for a change and the veggies were cooked well. The rice noodles were delicious and overall I was really impressed with this dish!
This place is definitely worth a visit if your in the area.
My Tho is one of the best Vietnamese restaurants in North side. It’s a small venue but it’s always bustling with customers. The food served is authentic Vietnamese cuisine that’s both delicious and great for value. Would highly recommend the Banh Canh Cua Tom (Crab and shrimp tapioca noodle soup) and the Bun Bo Hue. They didn’t have a drinks menu, but they do serve Vietnamese iced coffee. The staff are extremely nice too!
Been here many times and it is probably the best pho restaurant in Preston. I’ve tried other dishes such as: bun Rieu, com tam, rice vermicelli salad and each tasted authentic. It is my go-to restaurant for Vietnamese food in Preston
The most authentic Vietnamese we have had in Melbourne. The staff are fantastic, the flavours were fresh and on point and it’s also very reasonably priced. We wouldn’t go anywhere else. An easy decision to give five stars
My Tho is a very good Vietnamese restaurant in Preston. Very busy place with outdoor seating....my personal favourite to sit out front, have a nice meal and relax enjoying busy High St.
Food is fresh and tasty, extensive menu....I enjoyed pork chop with rice.
I also enjoy the Vietnamese ice coffees they serve, excellent with the current weather conditions. Recommend, but when busy can sometimes be a little wait, all good, food does the talking.
Cheers to all.
Highly recommend Banh Canh Cua Tom! Broth has deep flavour and tasty, decent amount of food, customer service is great. Will definitely return.
Service is good! The Vietnamese grandpa doesn't say much but is friendly. The place is really busy from 5.30pm onwards but food comes out quick.
-1 ⭐ as the pork chop in the Com Tam Dac Biet $14.50 was rather tiny compared to other Vietnamese restaurants that serve com tam dac biet.
Crispy chicken served with pho $15 was so crispy but flavor was mild.
Would return!
Update 11 Jun22-
Avocado smoothie $7 and Banh Xeo with pork and shrimp $20.
Food wasn't as spectacular as three weeks ago but grandpa is still friendly as ever. The banh xeo was a bit flat tasting and soggy but I like the fact that they gave perilla leaves.
Avocado was thick and creamy with lots of Avocado taste.
Delicious, fresh food, quick friendly service and reasonably priced. Place was busy but food was quick to come out. Was a bit slow at the end when we wanted to pay but not a big deal.
I tried many vietnamese restaurant in Melbourne, this has to be on one of my favorite list. Their BBH (bun bo hue) is the bomb! Bomb of flavors in your mouth without damaging your wallet, definitely will come back again soon!
Can’t fault it. We bought from here on takeaway last night and we’re seriously impressed. The food was fresh, well made and very tasty. Every dish was good without exception. Rice paper rolls, salt and pepper squid, chicken coleslaw, fried rice and beef noodles. They were all really good. We’d order again anytime.
One of my new favourite restaurants on High street. I ordered the vegetarian char kway teow and banh xeo which were both so delicious and very generously sized. The staff are lovely and the service was prompt - I ordered for pickup and the food was ready in about 15 minutes.
I always enjoy my meal here. Never had a bad dish, the stock for the pho is amazing, and the Vietnamese pancake rocks too.
This has to be in the top ten informal Vietnamese restaurants in Melbourne. The Pho is top rate thanks to the master stock used. The salads are clean, refreshing and ample in size. A little spicy but well worth it. The aromas of the sizzling plates as they arrive on the tables excite the senses. Beautifully cooked and balanced with sweet, savoury and spicy flavours. Overall excellent value but be there early or you'll have to stand in be line
