The best pho ever!! Been going here for 5 years now.. always get the beef and brisket it's amazing..
Taste great and very generous with the beef. Will come back again with family.
I opted for the small beef combination pho and it was the perfect size for me. It didn't come out as hot as I would like it but there was heaps of meat and the noodles had a nice texture. I'm giving it a 4/5 as I prefer a lighter/less salty broth because I like drinking heaps of it

I was passing through Richmond and decided to do a quick stop for an early lunch at 11.30am. When I'm in Richmond I always only ever go to the two that I know has pretty good pho, but for some reason this time I decided to be brave and try a new place.
The Pho Chu Che was a pleasant suprise and I am so happy to say that this is going to be in my list of favourite pho place to visit when in Richmond.
🔆LOCATION🔆
Pho Chu Che restaurant is situated on the busy Victoria street, right at the corner of Church Street.
It is of a decent size premise, although a little dark due to the the mural wall which is black but if you look closer it is very cute drawing of open fresh food/wet market.
The menu is what you see on the wall. Look to the large menu on the right hand side (mural wall size) for full extensive menu.
🔆SERVICE🔆
Very friendly and prompt service by staff members. I felt at ease and did not feel rushed. It was a nice atmosphere. Although it was only 11.30am on a Thursday, there were already 5 tables of customers.
🔆MENU/PRICE🔆
The menu is very simple at Pho Chu Che, their main food item is pho and the menu is separated into Pho Bo (Rice Noodle Soup with beef) and Pho Ga (Rice Noodle Soup with chicken).
The Pho comes in 3 different sizes:
Small, $11.00
Medium, $13.00
Large, $16.00
Only other entree/accompany item is Pork Spring Rolls, $9.90.
They also have extensive drinks menu.
🔆VERDICT🔆
I decided on a small bowl of sliced beef and brisket pho for $11.00.
I almost got the medium as I was a bit hungry, but I was afraid that it might be a bit too much for me. I am so glad that I ordered the small, as the serving was quite generous which was perfect.
What was interesting is there was pickled onion in the pho already and it was tasty with the basil, bean sprouts. On the table there is also clear container of pickled onion which is quite nice.
Most important, is firstly taste the soup. I got the soup spoon and tried the soup and wow, I was impressed. Very clear and light tasting flavour but quite distinct as well. I pretty much finished everything in the bowl and the soup! That's how delicious it was.
The sliced beef was fresh and good size and the brisket was surprisingly quite large slice and thick as well. The amount of meat in the pho was generous which I'm quite impressed.
Friendly and thoughtful customer service. Although you do not expect to step out of the restaurant smelling great, but you will have a happy and full tummy filled with flavourful and homely broth.
🍲 I had no expectation when i arrived here but it just blew me away with flavourful beef broth and wonderful beef 🥩 having craved for fat slices for so long, i was served an amazing bowl of pho beside the Pho Thin in Melbourne cbd. The broth here is more clear and the noodles are thicker, more like a combination of pho and udon for me. The staff who are nice and friendly is also another bonus point for me ! Definitely come back next time ☀️
We really enjoy their Pho and the soup was really good. They have been very consistent with their pho here for years now and is a favourite with the locals

One of the best pho restaurants in Melbourne, second only to the infamous Hung Vuong in Footscray. Their broth is delicious and noodles are silky smooth (best noodles!). Unfortunately as their specialty is pho it is all they serve, aside from spring rolls, so this isn’t the place for you if you’re looking for other Vietnamese dishes for variety.
Came to Pho Chu The for the first time. Had dinner with some family. We all went for the medium sliced beef and beef balls pho (note they really only serve pho, so don't come here expecting to get anything else)
The food came out SUPER fast, we were all surprised.
Really loved the noodles, the soup was super tasty, the beef balls were delicious, the bean sprouts were fresh. The only thing was the beef slices we're quite raw when they served it. So we left it in the soup for a bit to cook through a bit more. But they all clumped up instead of being slices, which could be avoided next time if I split it up at the start.
Otherwise loved this place and will definitely be my go to pho joint in Richmond.
Use to go to Richmond just for this but now with the price raised, the portion seems to shrink at the same time. Still tasty, but just one of many other good pho place now.

Stopped here for lunch with a friend today. The place wasn't very crowded, and ambience was a bit dark but comfortable.
I ordered a small rare beef pho and he ordered the large special beef pho, which comes with a combination of brisket, tendon, beef balls and other parts. I originally thought prices were a bit steep ($11/$13/$16 for S/M/L) but the large portion was huge. Good amount of meat to compliment the large amount of noodles. The small was sufficient for me. Taste of the soup and beef was good but nothing spectacular. The rare beef was clumped and I prefer if they weren't thrown in in clumps. The rice noodles I felt was more springy than other pho places, and quite a delight to eat.
The food came out very quickly (probably a couple of minutes). One concern I have about cleanliness is that there were quite a few flies around on the utensils on the table and I saw some land on other people's food as well. So I'm not sure how clean the place is. Other than that, it was a good experience.
