Remember the fish n’ chips you had when you were younger... (in the 90’s)?
When you could have banter with the person behind the counter... you knew your flake was going to be cooked perfectly (not too much batter and crispy).. the potato cakes not too greasy... dim sims cooked with that nice crunch and that thought of... “have they given me a sneaky extra dimmy or potato cake?”
Well my friends.... the 90’s are making a comeback as richmond fish & chips are exactly that and more!
Also, for those wondering... we got an extra potato cake!

My fav fish and chip place in Richmond! Never disappoints. Regular here before the footy too. Chips are always cooked to perfection, as are the potato cakes. Reasonably priced. My go to fish and chip shop around here!

Cheap prices and great tasting chips. Been a fair few times before the football and it always seem to leave me and my brother satisfied. Just finishing up our food as of now and quite full I might add. Will be back next football game as always here.

Best value take away in Richmond.
Walking into the shop I'm greeted by a lady with more Diamonds and bling on her than Lil' John. Let's hope her potato cakes are as fresh as her mix tapes (they are).
Best thing on the menu is the beef burger with the lot. Fresher than Justin Bieber's foray into puberty with a tremendously flavoursome beef pattie. It's as good as the beer and burger bar across the road and half the price. No brioche here* (Warning: your hipster beard may shrink slightly at this news).
Time for some fish. Watching the young man throw some flake on the cooker I can only presume this guy saw Jaws when he was young and never forgave sharks. The flake looks huge and fresh. So cheap I go and put a Bentley on lay by to celebrate. Prices this low haven't been seen since Tony Abbot was in power.
As the chips are served I say a silent prayer for those Irishmen who perished in the great potato famine-this serve alone would have saved the entire country (and it was a small). Serving for two they said. My FitBit adds 10,000 steps to my daily goal as I pick these bad boys up. Never mind, totally worth it-they're cooked to perfection. Chicken salt? Does the Pope have a balcony.
Bottom line: perfectly cooked, fresh food at an unbeatable price. Quick, no fuss-take away as it should be.
Every area needs a good fish and chip shop, this is the one for Richmond. Good amount of chips for $3 and delicious fresh flake. Best hangover cure.
Seeya Hunky Dory!. This place is just the very, very best. Perfectly battered fried/grilled fish and awesome chips! Their burgers are amazing, quality meat & herbs make mouthwatering patties! Salad & dim sims are lovely too. Reasonably priced. This is a traditional chipper and the quality cannot be matched. I really hope the people of Swan St & Richmond don't turn their backs on this guy for Hunky Dory opening up the street. I know I won't. Keep it local!

Wow! I was pretty excited to find a fabulous proper traditional fish n chip shop close to the city. Flake was fabulous, cooked to perfection. Staff were great and the wait was short even though it was a really busy night. Looking forward to my next visit!
I really miss working in Richmond only because of this store. Compared to all the other stores on the street these guys had the most reasonable prices for the food that they prepared freshly. Owner would always throw in some extras into my order as well.
I highly recommend the delicious Lot burger. As far as I'm aware all of their products were halal back when I went in 2019.
Great service, very friendly, only had dimmies(dim Sims). As a qualified chef and had years of experience, I can tell by what's on display and the cleanliness of the shop these folks take their business seriously. I'll have to give the fish a crack cause even that's displayed in a refrigerator cabanet and looks fresh as.
I popped in for a cheeky souvlaki over lunch. What I didn't realise was that I was ordering a tour of the Mediterranean for my tastebuds.
The lamb was grilled to perfection, the wrap had a sensational balance between dough & crispness and the garlic sauce was divine.
11/10 best souvlaki I've ever had.

Hands down the best fish and chips establishment I have been too.
I had some chips with gravy and a vegan spring roll and it was delicious. Cooked fresh while I was waiting. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the menu was comprehensive and well priced. There are a good range of drinks on offer and the location is very convenient.
This is by far my favourite fish & chips shop anywhere in Melbourne. Has had a few owners over the years, but the food has always been amazing....seriously what is this 5 star limit, lol this place deserves at least 10
