It's my first time at Butternut Cafe as it can be very hard to get a table.
I was walking passed today and noticed some empty tables, so I quickly made a detour and secured myself one. I noticed a lady taking an order at another table so I grabbed a menu and sat down. Water urns and glasses are on a ledge, so help yourself.
Placed my order of a vegan wrap and a large skinny flat white. The coffee came quickly and was lovely and hot and smooth and strong, perfect.
The Vegan Wrap was simply presented on a plate, but was just what I was after. Lovely fresh ingredients, nicely warmed with a crispy wrap.
I must admit, I'd always veered away from this Cafe but I was pleasantly surprised.
If you can nab a table, you won't be disappointed.
Sunday breakfast sitting outside with a lovely breeze. Lovely way to have breakfast. Today they were busy so a bit of a wait. The cappuccino was lovely creamy and frothy. Michael had the omelette which was light and fluffy he enjoyed very much. I had the breakfast bruschetta which was lovely the poached egg was perfect. Thanks guy for lovely breakfast.
This cafe was a regular of mine and changed hands about a year or so ago. I visited last weekend and was pleasantly surprised to find it was still delicious.
The menu is simple, but with lots of delicious, well priced things on offer. Service is fairly quick and they always seem consistently busy. I had eggs Benedict with a homemade hash brown which I thought was a nice touch. My only gripe was I would have liked more hollandaise sauce. My partner had scrambled eggs which were fluffy and the biggest serving of butter on the side I've ever seen.
A pleasant, relaxed atmosphere in the heart of Springwood.
