I visited Nomad when they were “up the road” and had a great dinner. Overall, it was very enjoyable, albeit pricey, food.
Definite highlights were the:
- kingfish ceviche
-calamari and potato (fave dish of the night)
-lamb shoulder (even if you’re not a big fan of lamb, this was cooked perfectly with the best balance of flavours)
- olive oil ice cream sandwich (think of baklava but ice cream version)
I personally don’t recommend the spatchcock as it was a very average tasting dish and messy to eat.
Service can also be a bit inconsistent at times.
All in all, I do recommend visiting Nomad.
It's easy to understand the long wait times for a table when you've had the food at Nomad.
We dropped by on a recent trip to Sydney on a busy Friday night with no booking. We were told the wait would be 45 minutes, but given we had nowhere else to go, decided to wait it out.
The kingfish ceviche was easily the standout dish. Perfectly cured kingfish laced amongst silky avocado and paired with a crunchy cracker - this was a great opener for the rest of the evening. The BBQ king prawns had a great salsa Verde that helped to cut through the smokiness. As expected, the smoked beef cheeks were very tender, though the fennel and capers were a little too sour for our liking.
The presentation of the tiramisu was very clever. A large biscuit topper which upon cracking revealed a silky cream layer underneath. Points for creativity!!
Overall, Nomad is worth a visit for those more fancier date nights!!

This is our first visit. The restaurant is nice and big, ample seatings. The girl who served our table was very attentive and friendly. Four of us ordered 5 small plates and 4 mains. The portion of beef tongue was too small but it was absolutely delicious (we didn’t had enough), it was our favourite dish for the tonight. Beef cheek was very tender and cooked just right. A great place to catch up with friends on a Friday night.
Flavour combinations tend to fall in the ballpark of Modern Australian with varying notes of Middle Eastern influence. We started with the zucchini flowers; delicate and encrusted in a punchy parmesan crumb, softened by the creamy ricotta filling and finished with a sweet, fragrant truffle honey.
Love the interior and the ambience of this place! Am a fan of the open kitchen concept. Service was friendly and prompt. Food was amazing! We especially enjoyed the burrata with the flat bread, the zucchini flower, and the haloumi. They were super busy even on a week night so make sure you make reservations early!
I am so happy I came here finally. What a lovely venue and it's so well done.
They have done such a good job with the interior, lots of light colours and wood throughout.
The Bread and Charcuterie board was a great start and my wife had the oysters. We followed that with the Heirloom Tomatoes and the Wagyu
Everything at Nomad was amazing! Took my partner here to celebrate his promotion.
It’s a very friendly and vibrant place, and the waitress was so lovely and humorous! Every dish we had was delicious! The kingfish ceviche, spatchcock, wagyu. Would 100% come back!
Love this place! Beautiful space that smelled of wood fire as soon as you walk in. Staff were very friendly and helpful, telling us how many dishes would be appropriate for our party and giving us menu recommendations. The spatchcock and school prawns were amazing but the ice cream sandwich for dessert was a standout!
Beautiful wooden decor with open kitchens and friendly service - the wait staff were also great at taking away plates and following up with the next dish promptly. It can quite busy in the evening but it makes for nice bustling ambiance.
My favourite dishes were the kingfish ceviche served with coriander crackers and the wood roasted kingfish head and collar (limited availability!). The meat from the head and collar was so tender and the shellfish butter that it was served in was so flavourful and delicious.
The wagyu beef cheek was smoked perfectly and had that nice glisten you want in wagyu, best eaten together with the kale and zucchini agrodolce as the flavours complement each other so well.
The spatchcock was decent however we ate this last and after experiencing the prior dishes almost felt underwhelming! The orange sorbet was quite refreshing and perfect to wrap up the nights meal.
Went here for a work dinner with about 20 colleagues. We indulged in a set menu to make things easier and the food began to arrive not long after we sat down. Beautifully presented and exquisitely tasting, the potions were generous without being oversized. Service impeccable.
enjoyed dinner with team at Nomad. the modern Mediterranean cuisine was delectable and the staff was outstanding and well mannered, I loved their casual white top and denim outfits, the vegetarian fare was surprisingly good, the zucchini flowers and roasted baby carrots topped my list but the olive oil ice cream was a revelation! the ladies who served us were lovely and were always around to make sure we were taken care of, the ambience was pleasant and towards the end of the evening the place was packed yet unusually nice and not noisy...thank you guys for the amazing customer service and keep up the good work
Had a very enjoyable boozy lunch here. Great wine list. The food is good too, although being pescatarians, we perhaps missed out on the dishes Nomad is best known for! Service is what set this place apart for me! We would simply look up from our table and our lovely waitress would rush over to our table. Very impressive 👏 Thank you and see you again soon
10% surcharge on Sunday so just take note.
Otherwise the food is really really good. Service could be better but the food was too good for me to fuss over it. Highlights were the flatbread, cod, and the grain salad. Very flavourful and clean. Kept me full for hours so the $98 for the feast menu is worth it? Perhaps?
The flavours, textures and presentation of each food dish were 'pumping' in The Feast (the chef's selection). The combinations were exquisite and carefully paired. The staff were helpful, service swift. Ambience was welcoming and relaxing. Great value for money. Definitely worth a return visit.
Wow! I love writing a review but only tend to leave them for places that blow my mind and Nomad certainly did that last night. The food was incredible and wine was top notch.
And a special shout out Kathleen who looked after us, as half the reason we had such a great time was due to her! Thanks for putting up with us 😂
P.s. I'd be your number one customer if you decided to bottle/jar and sell the following:
* Fennel jam
* Smoked mussels
* Yellow chillies
Just saying...
Modern Mediterranean with Middle Eastern influences, we think the venue is a little overrated. Portions are generous and they’d usually recommend to share.
I mean $29 for Brussels Sprouts side dish, a tad beyond value
Had birthday dinner here and I absolutely enjoyed everything.
The atmosphere was good, staff were kind and attentive, food was amazing!
Especially the grilled prawns were probs one of the best Ive tasted.
Dessert also was mind blowing.
Keep up the good work!
NOMAD was fantastic. On a weekday night, we walked in and got a seat at the Kitchen Counter Tables facing the chefs working their thing in the Kitchen.
Good attentive service from the host/waiting staff, and dishes came out one after the other in quick succession.
Food quality wise - top notch. Flavorful. Well spiced. Our favorite was the Zucchini flower, Wagyu tongue for sides. And main we got the Lamb Neck Pie which was absolutely divine.
Overmatching the kitchen, we saw many guests order the raw Kingfish as well.
We would come back again the next time we are in Sydney.
