What is there not to love? Old world charm dining room, down to earth yet impeccable service & food to die for. So well balanced, can order so many small plates without feeling full!
Mercado lived up to the meaning of its name, serving delicious market style tapas and meals to share. We loved everything we ordered, food was full of flavour and flavours balanced to perfection. Highlights were Spanner crab with caviar and Harissa and white bean salsa. I would definitely be back for the food! Unfortunately for this restaurant the service staff was the major downfall, much needed training and table etiquette required.
Great place to eat and experience the Spanish inspired cuisine with some modern twist to it. I like the tapas I had and they were all delicious! Staff was friendly and the service was very good. I highly recommend this place to anyone.

Good place that serves intetesting variety of food especially if you are a tourist that likes to explore cullinary. Forgot to take photos of the things I ordered but I assure you that most of them are delicious 👍
Friends recommended that we tried Mercado, and we are glad we did.
We took our daughters and started with the duck liver pate, which was as good as anything we had in France. That was followed by Devine Iberico Jamon .
We also had the grilled prawns which were fantastic.
They also had one of my favourite wines 2004 Roda Reserva.
Great service, great location - give it a try.

I've been here twice, tries the $65 and $80 banquet. I recommend getting this if you can't decide(which was our case), they do give you a very nice selection of dishes.
It included hummus and flat bread, cold cuts and olives which were all very nice, especially the hummus! The Turkish ravioli, yoghurt and burnt butter was one of my favourites because I love pasta. The grilled chorizo was also very delicious. We also received a lamb with pumpkin, sunflower, kale and thyme which I also loved. We got a salad but it wasn't memorable.
The $80 banquet is pretty much the same but also includes kingfish, prawns and an extra dessert dish. My only complaint was the salad dressing was too salty and oily for my liking.
The dessert was a dark chocolate semifreddo with pistachio and raspberries which was very tasty with interesting textures and flavours.
This restaurant is so good! Great place to go with a group of people to try different dishes. Everything was delicious particularly the pumpkin ravioli. Highly recommend.
Mercado is situated at the Ivy Precinct and does amazing food with great service. I have enjoyed everything we ordered, including the salad (as a meat lover I’m usually not a fan of salad!)
Loved the atmosphere. The selection of small and medium sharing plates was amazing. Some of the best desserts we’ve ever had. All this topped off with attentive service.We sat outdoors which was nice. Service is friendly, attentive and the waitress knew the menu well.
Excellent service and food. We came as a big group and the restaurant was very understanding of our needs. For example, because some of the attendees were pescatarian, they served us fish instead of the chicken.
We got the fixed menu and honestly everything was good. My favourites were the:
1. Spanish style cod cuts: So refreshing and the perfect mix of healthy and tasty, also the right portion
2. Parmesan grotto with red cabbage: the red cabbage was served as paste and looked like chocolate sauce! Sweet but not excessive
3. Turkish ravioli: pumpkin fillings!! So good
The dessert (chocolate senifreddo) was a little too sweet for my tasting, and also too heavy after such a big meal. I feel like it could have been more balanced with natural fruit flavours to top it off!

2. Chorizo > the almond puree is a bit bitter but a nice juxtaposition to the chorizo

- Parmesan polenta with red cabbage sauce
- Roast carrots
- Mashed potato with fried kale
Drinks:

Every dish had excellent plating.
Excellent food, great atmosphere, exceptional service and super friendly staffs. We ordered quite a few dishes to share and they are all very nice. Although it’s a little bit pricy, but definitely worth a try. They also have very good wine list too. We’ll come back again to try more dishes. Highly recommended.
It was the perfect finale for our trip to Sydney this time. Food was devine, especially lamb was so juicy and tender. Service was firendly but somewhat slow as they paid more attention to the cooperate customers. Lovely ambience.
Having no real plans for dinner, we walked into Mercado and were instantly impressed with the ambiance of the place. We were warmly greeted by front of house and they were able seat us, despite not having a booking and being a busy Saturday evening.
The menu was a challenge, as everything looked amazing.
The food was exceptional, the concept of small share plates that showcase a chef’s talent was reflected in the pumpkin filled ravioli with shaved fresh truffle.
We were made to feel very welcome by the floor staff, especially Charlotte who took the time to explain the menu to us, as well as suggesting a decadent chocolate delight for desert.
Highly recommended and thank you for the experience.

Incredible food and service. If I could give this place more stars I would!! Definitely recommend to check it out! The ravioli and the lamb were exceptional! They also have a range of great wines and a couple cocktails as well! Excellent customer service as well!

We held a corporate function for 30 people in the dining space under the stairs. The service and the food were absolutely sensational. Lucia was incredible with the service and Emilio prepared the food to perfection. A number of the people commented that it was the "best function they have ever been to". We had a number of speakers and this space was perfect. I cannot thank the team enough for the great work and would highly recommend the restaurant. I will be back!!
