Excellent experience all around. Food was superb, service excellent, atmosphere was fun. Good wine and cocktail selection, and all at quite a decent price. Not cheap, but entirely reasonable considering the quality.

Lot One is located in Potts Point and is known for their upmarket Modern Australian food. More recently they have launched a new Autumn menu and have launched Friday night bar area where you can order cocktails and canapes. I had such a divine experience last time so I was eager to check out their new menu.

This is a real gem of a restaurant.

We've been here twice roughly 6 months apart and both times experienced great, unique flavour combinations, from all cuisines. There's a little bit of Asian, Italian, Middle-Eastern, it's hard to pin down exactly what they "are" but whatever it is it's delightful.

Give it a try if you're looking for new flavours in a good way, not the chef-trying-to-be-fancy-and-creating-weird-disgusting-combinations that's often the case nowadays.

In Short: Lot One. Restaurant + Bar wears a few guises, and it does it so well. With a well stocked bar, settle in for a few drinks and some bites, or lounge around longer for delicious larger plates that are contemporary with touches of brilliance. My tip, start with the sardine, proceed to the beetroot gnocchi and finish with snickers.

We have wanted to try Lot. One Restaurant & Bar for a long time now. Last night, we finally did and had an absolutely marvellous night, which prompts me to write a review.
We had really high expectations, which to my surprise and delight were by FAR exceeded in every way.

Lot. One Restaurant & Bar is tucked away in the quiet end of Rockwall Crescent in a beautiful boutique deco building.
As soon as we approached the huge red door and glass front of the restaurant, we were impressed with the space they have created and knew we would be in for a treat.
The inside features a large and extremely well stocked sparkling clean bar and the venue has exposed brick walls throughout.
The center of the restaurant is furnished with a big red velvet couch and various arm chairs that invite you to sit down and enjoy a cocktail in a comfortable setting, while you take in your environment and wind down from the day.
The restaurant is gently lit by various caged lights and beautiful arrangement of Eddison bulbs.
It only takes moments to forget that you are in Potts Point and feel completely at home in this beautiful space.

After being warmly welcomed by Michael and Xenia , we chose to sit down on the previously mentioned red couch and started our night with a couple of cocktails each, while reading through the impressive wine list.
Ranging from around $42 per bottle, the wine list contained a beautifully curated selection of wines from all over the world and I am sure there is something on it for everyone and every budget.

Once our cocktails arrived, we ordered the Charcuterie board ($18) with some crusty bread, butter, olive oil and balsamic vinegar.
The Charcuterie board included a selection of cured meats such as Jamon Serrano, grass fed bresaola, finnochiata, as well as sweet and tangy house made pickles.
The serving was extremely generous and the presentation was beautiful.

The two cocktails we chose with Xenia’s help, perfectly complemented this platter.
We had a Garden Pash ($18), which was a combination of gin, lemon and garden juice, which Xenia developed herself and is an interesting mix of cucumber and various herbs and spices. It is a light and bright cocktail with a flavour that keeps you interested.
Andrew had the Spicy Passion Margarita ($18) which contained tequila, cointreau, passion fruit, lime, tabasco and jalapeno. Despite initially being unsure how the passion fruit would suit this combination, it was an absolute taste sensation (caution – this one obviously has some genuine bite to it) and perfectly suited the cured meat selection.

After that, we were offered a table to continue our meal.
Having followed Lot. One for quite some time via social media and having seen some of their meals through the beautiful photos they posted, we had a pretty good idea already what we wanted to try.

We started with their whole stuffed squid ($26) which was buttery soft and the smoked red pepper, chorizo, pine nut and parsley filling gave it a delicious rustic yet light flavour.

Next up was the Kangaroo Tataki ($24) which was the most tender and beautiful kangaroo dish either one of us had ever tasted.
The kangaroo was surrounded by forest berries, native pepper, sunflower seeds and crispy sage leaves.
Even thinking about it now, it still makes my mouth water.

For our main meal, we both decided to consult their extremely helpful and friendly staff.
We decided to share the Half Duck ($50) which arrived on a huge slate plate and was a generous serving, even for two people.
The deboned, roasted glazed duck was surrounded by flash fried red grapes, crushed macadamia and a sea of crisp snow pea tendrils.
We both really enjoyed it.

As we both had our heart set on a dessert (which is actually very unusual for me, Andy even mentioned that he can’t remember me ever ordering dessert at a restaurant) we decided to order another cocktail first before we moved on with our meal.

After advising the staff of our dessert selection, they suggested the right cocktails to us.

Smoked Sanguine ($18) was a sticky sweet delight, which arrived with a cloud of French Oat smoke and the Wake Me Up ($22) was a combination of patron XO café, baileys, coffee liqueur and fresh espresso.

The extremely reasonable priced desserts ($14) were an absolute sensation.
We chose the Turkish Delight and the Snickers inspired ones and both by far exceeded the high expectations we had after spotting them pass us on their way to other diners tables from the kitchen earlier on.

I know this review is ridiculously long, but let it be a testament of how impressed we are with last night and the wonderful experience Xenia, Michael and the team provided us.

I am not exaggerating when I say that this was probably one of the most amazing dining experiences we have ever had.

We don’t often treat ourselves to a night out like this, but next time we do, I am sure this is the place we both will agree we want to revisit.

We were told they are releasing their new menu this coming Tuesday, so I can’t wait to see what they have created for autumn/winter.

And as a final note:

Lot. One also accepts Beam Wallet, which makes dining there even better value.

Beam gives you 10% back on all your purchases and if you aren’t using Beam already, use Promotion Code: “2011” and receive a $20 bonus to get you started!

Located in the quiet streets of Potts point, Lot.one is the perfect place to unwind and dine for lunch or dinner. We tried a few share dishes between us two including the arancini, quail lollipops, soft shell crab, charcuterie board and the whole squid.
The staff were very friendly and the atmosphere was great, we love the wall decoration, furniture and even the plating.

Fantastic venue, love the exposed bricks and the lighting and general layout of the place. Menu was excellent, we shared a charcuterie board, duck liver pate, beef cheek, sirloin, lamb shoulder and the most delicious mashed potatoes. Great attentive service, good wine list and choice of cocktails. Defo be back!

My family came here for dinner to celebrate Father’s Day and my husband was very happy with the service and food we received.

We started off with their duck parfait which was delicious and we definitely needs more bread to finish it. We all loved their nettle spaghettini with pesto and mushroom. We then had their humpty doo barramundi with house made red curry (that my MIL enjoyed) and the beef cheek which were amazingly tender. My son also wanted this after finishing off his pasta from the kids menu. We ordered a side of their green salad and fries.

For dessert we shared their sticky date pudding which was our favourite compared to the tiramisu. Overall delicious and with wonderful service, I definitely want to come back here!

We were fans of the sleek Lot. One when it first opened its doors in the city last year and are happy to see that they’ve now launched in their new Potts Point location. Some of the elements of their old fitout have been carried across to their location (hello gold bar carts), but the vibe is much more eclectic and smart casual than their former space.

They really creative to make their sides goes well with the main.

The service was great, staff all had great smiles and were very patient with us given we did spend a lot of time deciding what to eat. Was there on a Friday evening and there was no pressure from the staff for us to vacate our table. In terms of food, my favourite would have to be the Soft Shell Crab and the Half Duck. The red grapes paired with the Half Duck and a glass of Montalto Pennon Hill Pinot Noir was the perfect match. Definitely recommend trying this restaurant out!

Very attentive service, refilled our water as soon as it’s running low. Dish I recommend the most is the mushroom medley, you can taste the very nice olive oil that they pan fried the oyster in too. However the smoked kingfish is a bit of let down thou portion is generous for a “small”. Oh! Also, please do yourself a favour to get their dessert, big thumbs up for the Turkish delight inspired desert! So humble, not so sweet, unique and what not!

Had dinner here on a Thursday evening. Second time we've visited in the last 6 months. Service was slow as there appeared to be only the one waitress and the manager working the tables. Irrespective, both very friendly. We decided to go for the 5 course sharer, the food was delicious, although a few of the items shown on the menu weren't available which was a little disappointing. Ambience was cosy, it had a very intimate feel to it. Recommend Lot. One for date nights and small groups dining.

Beautifully presented food in a warmly lit, cosy setting. Some highlights of my night were (photos) the beef cheek, lamb shoulder, octopus and kingfish. Meats were executed perfectly, with flavoursome jus, notes of balsamic and sweetness with the beef, and caramel used garlic, rosemary, thyme and bay leaves for the lamb shoulder, both went well with parsnip purée. The octopus was rich in charred flavors. Personally would have preferred slightly more acidity to brighten up the surf. Thank you for a wonderful flavourful evening.
