I have been wanting to visit this heritage listed venue for a long time now but I wanted to make the first visit a special one.
I finally got the chance when Sarah Blasko played on March 24 2022 as part of her “As Day Follows Night” anniversary tour. She is made for a venue with this character and charm.
The building is nearing 100 years of existence and has had a colourful history as a theatre, cinema and live concert venue. Before you even walk in, you are greeted with a stunning facade and then, when you head inside your eyes are met with some stunning architecture that takes you back to a long forgotten time.
If you record concerts like I do, you will also find the acoustics quite good for capturing sound.
This is by far one of, if not the best venue for substance and culture in Australia. It may have been my first visit but it most definitely won’t be my last.
A gorgeous theatre that has very comfy seats and a really good view from pretty much any seat in the house. In-house staff are lovely too. Mezanine is arguably the best place to sit.
The ambience is unbelievably beautiful. There is so much to look at, it's worth arriving a little earlier than your show so you have time to wander and gaze in awe.
The service was professional and the staff is highly approachable.
The prices for the beverages do not allow me to recommend getting a drink there but if you do, I'm sure you'll enjoy it.
