Fresh south-eastern Asian flavours at this Potts Point local. Menu is fantastic - there are so many delicious options to choose that it can be tricky but the staff are super friendly and available to offer recommendations. Alcohol available including a great selection or organic and vegan wines. Outdoor seating is perfect for the warmer weather.
Inspired by the flavours of South East Asian classics, Bang Tang is serving up some fresh and healthy dishes with an emphasis on FLAVOUR. Their Big Bowls are where they excel: think bright and tangy salads, spicy meats, slippery noodles and fluffy rice coming together in generous serving bowls to share with a crowd or for one hungry human. All the dishes were delicious with my faves being the Duck It Up and the Juicy Pork Belly Bowl, this one is highly recommended folks, check them out!
Bang Tang‘s name has some pizazz to it, and so does this restaurant. As we approach the restaurant on Victoria Street in Potts Point, we hear the vibe, with some funky tunes pumping from the speakers. The Asian inspired restaurant stands out in its location with the small bright pink neon sign which contrasts the drab brick apartment block that sits above. Bang Tang is quaint restaurant with more seating outdoors than in, but it’s all good since they have blankets and outdoor heaters and an awning just in case. It has very much a fun street eat feel.
Bang Tang is a hidden gem located on the quieter side of Potts Point. Tucked away on Victoria Street, you will find this Asian inspired eatery which taking you on a culinary journey through various parts of Asia (Japan, Thailand and Vietnam). . We began with a couple starters which included the cigar rolls, tuna bomb and vegan gyoza. The cigar roll is essentially a crispy spring roll but with an amazing twist. This spring roll will blow your mind with tom yum and coconut flavours exploding in your mouth. It was a truly spectacular way to start the dining experience. The tuna bomb is a tuna croquette served with spicy mayo. Lastly, we enjoyed the crispy vegan gyoza with cabbage, radish and carrot. We felt like we traveled to Thailand and Japan in the starters alone.
Something little to start ‘Cigar rolls’ (crispy chicken spring roll), ‘Tuna bomb’(Tuna croquettes,spicy mayo) and ‘Vegan gyoza’. The bigger bowls ‘Prawn passion’(choice of
individual/sharing, entree/main), ‘Classic soba bowl’(with a choice of crispy chicken), ‘Hun-bastard’(poached chicken). The drinks ‘Yuzu lemonade’ and ‘Egyptian Iced tea’(Organic hibiscus,rose,rock sugar).

- The food is light, tasty and fresh!! It is healthy and taste great. The food has a nice fusion of flavours.
- The ‘Prawn Passion’ is an interesting combination that works right. The acidity of the passion fruit dressing works well with the freshness of the prawn.
- My favourite has got to be the ‘Classic soba bowl’.
- The drinks are nice and refreshing. I wish there was more of the Yuzu flavour in the ‘Yuzu lemonade’ though.
Cute and cosy restaurant with relaxed vibe. The menu is made up of a collection of the best of south East Asian dishes with a mix of healthy and ‘naughtier’ options. We loved the freshness of the food, use of fresh herbs and familiar dishes with interesting twist such as the cigar rolls (spring rolls with Tom yum flavoured filling).
Other favourites from our visit include the grilled turmeric chicken with satay sauce and juicy belly noodle soup (melt in your mouth 4 hour stewed pork belly with amazing rolled thick rice noodles and rich broth). We really enjoyed ourselves and recommend a visit.
Asian fusion at its best. Loved the variety of dishes on offer and how generous portion sizes were. I particularly liked the starters/entrees and desserts. I’d recommend the tuna bomb, Tom yum soup, bang my passion and the dessert of the day - a chocolate fondant cake.

It is hard to choose a winner from my lunch at Bang Tang. The truth is I couldn’t fault any of the dishes and the flavours were totally on point. The best part is all my dietary requirements are met from the menu and I don’t feel restricted in choosing the dish I want. Bang Tang is a healthy treat without the compromise of flavour.
Bang Tang is one of the cutest restaurants in Potts Point. A minute walk from Kings Cross station, this place has amazing ambience and the perfect outdoor seating area. This restaurant has plenty of vegan options, my favourites were the Vegan Gyoza 🥟 and Soba 🍜!
Food is 5 STARS for sure! Every dish is a burst of surprise, plus is like fine-dining at a fraction of cost! Duck up! and Juicy Belly are AMAZING and ADDICTIVE! I brought my colleagues here and we have been talking about their delicious food and service for 2 whole weeks. Egyptian ice tea is fancy too :)

Unique and cosy place. The silky tofu entree is super silky indeed. Loved every dish, just a bit disappointed by the Bang the Vegan soup (honestly it was very plain). But recommended overall.
Food was excellent! Their vegan gyoza is a must try and their noodle bowls are delicious. However, I would have liked to see more vegan options available.
We came here on Friday night and it was haven of delicious food and lovely service. Everything we had was flavorful, perfectly cooked and had a little something special about it. We ordered the soft shell crab, chicken broth and wagyu beef curry, all were excellent. The drinks were all also thoughtfully chosen, delicious lemongrass and ginger tea, yuzu soda and spicy ginger beer. I would highly recommend this restaurant to lovers of tasty Asian food.
Cozy little place. Has great food at reasonable prices. For starters we had the cigar roll and the tuna bomb, both were good. We then ordered the duck it up bowl, which was fresh and delicious. I’d definitely recommend it.
