Wonderful evening in an intimate venue in Glebe. Beautiful wines, great music and outstanding food. It probably helped that Callan Smith from Masterchef fame was in the kitchen. We will be back. Thank you!

A lovely venue to have a tipple or two served with some great bar food snacks or cheeses on offer.

This was our third place to visit as part of The Glebe Tasting Treks. We had some Salmon Blinis to whet the appetite. We finished with a Cheeseboard and nice glasses of wine. There was a super creamy cheese on the board that was definitely a highlight for most on this food tour.

This wine bar is definitely a great place to hang out as a great end to an evening with wine and cheese or just as a stand-alone for leisurely evening with friends or family.

Been here a few times and it’s always a such a nice experience. The food itself hasn’t been the highlight but the atmosphere and vibe is always enjoyable! Especially when there has been live music! Can’t beat good cheese, nice wine and and sounds of an acoustic guitar to start the evening or end a long day.

I have never tried tapas before, so I was so excited when my friend told us she was treating us here for her birthday dinner. A bit difficult to find after getting off from the tram and Google maps made it worse finding this gem but, we eventually got there after a fair bit of walking. Although we were late for our booking, the lady still welcomed us with the smile on her face and she was like a concerned mom, which was refreshing. My friend ordered all the tapas on the menu and I loved all of them as they were good portion sizes, seasoned well and absolutely tasty. The interiors of the restaurant had that intimate feel as there were only a few seats available. We reckoned everyone who came that day knew one another as they were chatting in the restaurant like in a family gatherin. As we watched the live band serenade their guests, the dining experience became a highly enjoyable time as it the songs were soothing to the soul. I would love to come back to this place when given the chance.

Came here with oversea visitor after seeing their food menu. It's more of a drinking place. Interesting food menu. The salmon and squid are really good. Good selection of wine. Very cosy and comfortable place.

I've been passing Timbah for months, and after visiting for the first time last night, I can't help but feel like I've wasted some time not dropping in sooner. Looking for something low-key and relaxed for some quality food and some decent vino during the week without the noise, Timbah sure pleased. The service is warm, and dining format is explained up front if you're new to the experience. There is a sophisticated yet unpretentious vibe, easily capable of taking place of one of your regulars. Everything is order at the bar, with a few exceptions when quiet. Any open wines can be purchased by the glass, alternatively you can opt for anything and everything if committing to a bottle.

The menu is constructed of various small plates with most proteins, although I wish there were a few more vegetarian/green options. Dishes here incorporate significant Australian fare, utilising goodies like bush tomatoes, quandong, lemon myrtle and native thyme. Cured salmon and TFC (Timbah Fried Chicken) are very much worth ordering, although the kangaroo with kale and parsnip was the clear standout. The kangaroo is served cold, and only slightly seared, and reminiscent of a thick pastrami to some extent. It's delicate and tender, and perfect for those new to roo as it doesn't have an overwhelming game taste one may expect.

Dessert options are available, but the option to devise your own cheese platter shouldn't be overlooked. Any cheeses recommended or selected arrive with warm toasted walnut bread, crisps, and a house made quandong port jelly, and is enough to be savoured over an easy additional hour.

Between two big appetites, we shared three dishes, and a two-cheese platter, leaving us more than satisfied, and excited to return for next time.

Bosslady Louise is very passionate about her wine having owned the front liquor shop for 14 years so when she gave me a delicious glass of Dante Gabriel Vermentino 2015 Adelaide Hills i was in heaven. The food here is native australian inspired gathering delicious ingredients from country co-operatives.  I highly recommend the Balmain bug, lobster and prawn rolls with lemon myrtle and the Salmon ceviche, finger lime, jalapeño, guacamole! If your waiter is Ashley then you will be looked after like an old friend.

What a great discovery! Hidden at the bottom of Glebe pt Rd, who would have thought you would need to book in order to get a seat at this really funky bar?
When we got there around 6.30pm, it was fairly busy and being a Friday evening. The waiter allowed us to sit at a reserved table until the patrons of the table got there. We were mid way through our meal when the patrons who booked the table arrived to claim their table, so there were no available tables but was offered to be seated on the piano. Yes the piano. It was fine, but it felt like you were in trouble and reprimanded for being naughty. We were sitting, facing the wall. Not the greatest seat in the world. On the bright side, they had this cool champagne cork seat which was pretty fun and funky.
The bar had a great vibe to it, with loads of character but wished there were more seats going around.
We ordered 4 dishes from their tapas menu, and each one of the dishes were just delicious and interesting texture. The flavours were simple but worked really well. For example, the mashroom arancini, the flavours balanced each other out and there was not one flavour that dominated, making it pleasant on the palate. However, the crispy squid with lemon myrtle and pepper berry had an interesting taste to it. It was, how do you describe... Zesty, tangy, peppery with a nutmeg like after taste. It's probably about the best way I know how to describe the dish. It could have just been that, I wasn't used to the combination of the taste, as I didn't thrive on this dish. Then again, perhaps it was just foreign to my tastebud.
Anyhow, the place is so lovely to chill, eat and drink. Heed to warning and book a table. Let it be a warning! Our you'll end up sitting on the piano and facing the wall. Unless you like to face the wall, whilst eating and drinking, then the piano is perfect for you.

Went here for dinner and drinks tonight. Now, I like tapas but this is tapas like I've never had, and with a twist! It's good, honest food - done well. Wherever possible they use local or bush ingredients and it really is mouth watering! The chef has got it right here. Timbah is tucked away in a side street but it's a gem worth finding! There are dishes to suit all but, if you are a meat lover, try the chicken and the pork belly.. And never look back. The staff are also very friendly and provide good, swift service. I'm going back.... See you there?!
