I work next door and this is my answer to my 3:30 pm sugar craving.
Really nice staff and you can't go wrong for choice, it is not expensive either.
mmm sugar!!!
Yum yum yum yum yum! Everything in this store is sooo beautiful. The cakes are insanely awesome and are made with so much detail. The variety of flavours the macaroons come in is wide and full of imagination.
The shop even sells Zumbo’s recipe books which are superb as well. I’ve tried a few of his recipes and had great success. I think it’s all because of how much detail the recipes go in to. It’s really really impressive. My favourite is the popcorn flavour! 🍿
Who doesn’t know Adriano Zumbo. I tried the nutela & creme brulee macarons. They are perfect, as usual. I’m not a fan of sweet dessert but this one is an exception.
I love zumbo desserts so when I walked past and saw it was super close to where I have to work some days, I was cheering.
Super close to Circular Quay station so is easy to get to.
They had some newbies for mother's day so couldn't help but try one of them and it was just divine!
The service is really good too and prices are good as you get something which is super tasty not to mention pretty.
Would definitely recommend this place to family and friends.
What can I say? I love Zumbo. I devoured the salted caramel old fashioned ginger pudding zonut. I can't rate it high enough. Creamy, sweet and crunchy. I tried the macarons too. My favourite is the pistachio but the special candy cane one was delicious too.
This store is located into the nw Gateway building for perfect if you are around circular quay or if you want to treat yourself before boarding into the Ferry. I only have the chance (so far) to try one of their dessert which was the Dj chococo caramel / chocolate sucre shell, soft sea caramel, chocolate cake , chocolate ganache and caramel choc milk whipped ganache. I am a huge fan of caramel and it was really good! Some would say that it was too rich or dense but for me it has to be when you order a dessert with caramel. I am looking forward to try their V8 cube desserts.
Having a sweet-tooth, I was very excited to try Zumbo's cakes. What I love most in this place is the presentation of their cakes. They are made to perfection, every detail, every corner, angle..everything is amazing. So creative, colorful and flavourful. Their macarons (Zumbarons) are packed with flavours and are very chewy which I loved. I also had my birthday cake from here, but forgot what is's called but it's in the picture! It was perfect. Haha! Loved it here and will absolutely try more cakes next time. Although I wished they have a nice area to sit down and have dine-in.
With Zumbo having many indulgences to choose from it was a hard choice for me to pick something. Eventually i settled for the decorated fondant. It was very yummy and i can't wait to try something new again next time. Customer service was very good, the lady serving me was very friendly.
Being right next door to our office block, Adriano Zumbo has been the to go to patisserie for birthday cakes. Despite being only a low ley desserts enthusiast, countless of times has this foodie browsed the selection of goodies and marveled at the intricacies of its design.
The store front in Gateway conveniently faces Circular Quay station and is easy to spot with its flamboyant pink accents. Floor space is limited and during busy periods you may need to wriggle through the crowds to have a closer look at the desserts.
The selection I believe operates on a cycle, and as such there is always a new variety in store or one I've never took notice of. The cakes themselves never dissappoint and Adriano Zumbo sure knows how to create zesty flavours that leave you wanting more and not like you've consumed a tablespoon of raw sugar. The last piece of the passionfruit lemon tart was hard fought for amongst the team.
I'll be back next time.
Zumbo V8 Vanilla Cake Review. An interesting cake both visually and gastronomically. It is 8 layers of vanilla chantilly, toasted vanilla brulee, vanilla water gel, vanilla macaron, vanilla almond crunch, vanilla dacquoise, vanilla ganache and vanilla glaze. Cutting this cake into half enabled me to view this complex structure firsthand. Biting into this cake led me to an explosion of complex textures and subtle nuances of flavours. The water gel gave a slightly fruity tang to the cake while the dacquoise and macaron gave a nutty feel. The entire cake was really tasty yet it is only suitable as an occasional luxury. It is currently 10AUD per single serving. Would recommend to those seeking to taste the complexity of vanilla in different forms.
Zumbo is one of the best patisseries you can find in Sydney. They sell pretty and delicious looking cakes always nicely presented in their glass displays. A new addition to their Collection is the strawberry & yuzu cream cheesecake which is yummy if you like both flavours combined. Their signature cakes are their V8 series which consists of 8 layers. All the little cakes are quite small and can easily be finished in 3 spoon fulls not a dessert to be shared. Each miniature size dessert and cake size is quite expensive to buy, so not something you would buy regularly. In terms of creativity their behind many other top and new patisseries, there is just too much competition and talent in Sydney. Tip: if go after 5pm, you can pick pastries at half price (excludes cakes and macarons).
Awesome pastry shop! Services are great. You can taste every single layer of the croissant here. And the chocolate brownie is good as well.
Amazing macarons and great selection of cakes including a couple of gluten free options. Everything is almost too pretty to eat... almost!
Came from the states and was told to go here. Macaroons were incredible.
I've tried the croissant and coffee deal for $6 (tipical Italian breakfast 'cappuccino e brioche') and I've enjoyed. The croissant is not too sweet and the cappuccino was good - both for just a reasonable price. All other cakes, macaroons and pastries look amazing so I'll give a try in future!
