Gelato Messina in Newtown is always full of people! I ordered the macadamia crunch in a cone and it was so delicious. It was not too sweet. I come here lots and would recommend! They also have special flavours that change every so often.

What can I say... so many flavours to choose from it’s overwhelming. I ended up going with a mango one which was delicious and fragrant. I also tried the pandan coconut one which was unique and light.

Late night change of plan from the back of my head took us to this ice cream shop in Newtown. Partly dodging the rain too. We wanted something refreshing. Reminded by the oversweetened horror we got on another occasion, I chose passion fruit and yuzu sorbet. What a surprise there were! The scoops were packed with real tangy fruit taste as if we were eating actual fruits. The yuzu was a tad bitter in after taste which is quite unique. Xihuahua 🐶 really liked it and I shan't be stingy with stars this time! It was a real good treat to be honest!

Awesome service and amazing gelato! My favourite flavour was the pistachio praline, a surprise given that I don't normally like pistachio ice cream. Tried basically 10 flavours before deciding on it because the staffs were super nice and generous with the portion of the testers. Lovely experience overall! Shout out to this cute and smiley staff from Nepal who introduced his favourite - the pistachio praline to me too : )

As always, consistently amazing gelato. I always love checking out the special flavours. The good thing about this branch is that they’ve got more seating than many of the other branches.

Beside the one time silly incident with silly attendant, the service always impeccable and the icecream a surprise, great flavours, some better than others. Good atmosphere too. Great management, my daughter and I had come back. We love it

The famous ice cream in sydney. I’ve ordered their chocolate sorbet and panacota in figs and ameretti biscuits. I got 2 scoops and it cost around 6 dollars. It was way too good, i got the crunch and the balance taste of sweet and bitterness. So good.

Love that messina has branched out so much since they first opened. Now i feel like i can get messina almost anywhere! Love that they come up with weekly flavours and if you miss out, sometimes they come back! But its a waiting game. There is limited seating at the newtown store, but it is probably the most spacious store compared to surry hills and parramatta store. The one at the star has more seating. Service is always friendly!

This place is always full of people, and even more crowded on weekend nights. 
There are seats to sit so a lot of people would take a break here and enjoy the ice-cream.

I went there in one afternoon. Luckily there are few customers in the shop. I went 3 scoops and picked 3 flavours.
#Tiramisu# Make tiramisu in the form of ice-cream. It tastes like tiramisu but is softer.
#Yoghurt Caramel# A bit sour but is OK.
#Mango# Again it's a bit sour. And it melts very fast.

There's a window near the seat and you can watch them making the ice-cream!

Wanted To go to cow and moon but because we were dining in Newtown we thought we would just stick to getting a gelato here and saving ourselves the hassle of finding parking over again in Enmore. Gelato here looks great and it's a pretty busy little shop. I got two of the special flavours from the board. One was a chocolate with honeycomb pieces in it and the other a key lime cheesecake type thing. Both nice and different. Loved the chunks in both flavours.

Messina is the best gelato in town. It doesn't matter which town you're in, Messina will be the best gelato in town. There's usually a line at peak times, i.e. post-dinner time on a Friday and Saturday night, but the line moves quickly and you'll only ever wait a few minutes. I always get the special flavours because they are limited edition and I don't want to miss out. They have five new flavours every week! They have all of their regular range too. This is the bomb!

Their gelato shop always smells great whenever I come in. They have a huge selection of freshly made ice cream flavours, ranging from berries to coconut to chocolatey and cake-inspired flavours. Messina gelato has 5 special flavours for this week and they all looked quite tempting. Staff is friendly and helpful.

Pretty cool place. You can actually watch them making the ice cream. Great flavours and really nice texture to the ice creams and sorbets. Huge range of flavours. Was sort of disappointed though with the fact they found the need to charge a surcharge for paying by card. In this day and age isn't contactless payment the better option, especially in food service

There are heaps of amazing flavors they have and it probably makes you confused because everything they have is looks soooo yummy! it’s like a wonderland I’ve been through and it’s so hard to chose one of things you may eat, on top of that, staffs are so friendly and they let us taste with wooded stick if you ask them. When you go to Newtown you should go and try it. it’s not expensive anyways.
