Have been meaning ever since I started working in Waterloo to try this fish and chip shop. A few people at work have raved about how good the food is, so I finally decided now was a good a time as ever. They've an impressively large menu for a Fish & Chip shop including some Thai-style seafood meals.
Was thinking go a simple grilled fish and chips, as that's usually a good measure of quality. The salt and pepper barramundi caught my eye however and it was very enjoyable. A piece of barra has been chopped into 6 cocktail sized pieces and battered in a light and crispy batter. Flavorful, the salt and pepper is evident and was really nice.
The chips are awesome. You don't get hand-cut chips with the skins on in many places these days. Some argue that these could have been cooked a little longer, but the joys of skin on home made chips is they're chunky, and not meant to be overly crunchy like fries. Soft but firm, they worked perfectly with the barra. The dipping sauce was nice but needed in my opinion.
They're a bit pricy for the serving size, but worth it in my opinion. Love a good fish and chip shop and will definitely be back for more seafood dinners at work
Love it, seafood chowder, rainbow trout, asianslow salad very enjoyable. Returning for over 3 months and food is always on top notch service
I’ve come here a few times when I’ve wanted some quick seafood on the go that is quite tasty.
I usually go for the salmon meals, the salmon is always so juicy and it always comes as a generous portion with a food helping of sides to make a decent meal. The only item I had a problem with is their fried oysters.. once fried they become way too small to enjoy and not worth the money.
