TRIED OUT THE PHO NOODLE!
Had dinner with my friend on Saturday Night, we arrived at 6:30pm. I ordered raw beef noodle soup & my friend ordered meat ball noodle soup. When we arrive, the place was quite empty, but after we finish eating, the room started to full.
Heard it was always pact during lunch time and night. The broth soup was quite nice & satisfying, for a price of $11,5 each of big portion pho noodle.
Fairly proportion of noodle & beef, the beef is also nice and tasty, however the rice noodle was a little bit overcooked and mushy. Which I'm not a fan of.
The spoon, fork, chopsticks and cups are a little bit dirty, which was kind of unpleasant, /so we decided to clean everything first before we use it.
Overall, we enjoyed our experience.
Would I come back? Probably only if I were somewhere around the location and craving for some pho noodle, I would probably come back, but not intentionally go and visit the restaurant.
I had the beef pho and my partner had a clay pot rice dish. Both were very tasty and the place was clean, quiet, nice staff & the food came out very quick. Overall it was a nice meal on a week day when you can't be bothered cooking, nothing fancy.
This place is just before central park which is handy but it does look more like an Asian fusion type place then authentic Vietnamese having 2 sets of menu with westernised food. I ordered the spring roll vermicelli with fish sauce the portion size is standard but the noodles, carrots, cucumber and lettuce is fresh and served promptly I sometimes get the spring roll with pork.
The Pho here has always been decent. The broth is very aromatic and has strong flavours of beef/chicken (depending on which you order). My only issue with this place is the amount of actual meat they give you in the bowl varies hugely each visit.
Walking in, we were instantly welcomed by one of the happiest staff I've ever met. It made us feel welcomed and excited to eat there. I ordered the wagyu beef special which was their specialty dish. It was very tasty overall but I didn't taste a lot of differences between the normal beef pho and the wagyu beef which made me a bit disappointed. On the plus side, it was a much bigger portion and it was decently priced. Overall, I would recommend this restaurant for lunch if you're near Central or studying at UTS as it is about a 2 minute walk from there. It's definitely a wallet-friendly type of place to get your belly full.
This is one of my favourite places to go for pho in the city. The broth is extremely tasty and the price is great. They give you quite a generous serving for each bowl and i find them to be very consistent. Everytime i go the food quality is just as great as the previous visit.
Although the staff may not be the most attentive or approachable, i would come back time and time again just for the pho.
Great T-bone + Chips!. Came here for lunch and had the t-bone + chips, which were both delicious. The mushroom sauce was also commendable. The service is good and the price is reasonable as well. The atmosphere is pleasant too.
Much better than it looks (and sounds). I am quite skeptical of the negative feedback about this restaurant on Urbanspoon. As a Vietnamese who has tasted Pho since forever, I find Pho at Mumum highly competitive. It deserves to be among the first-ranked Pho in Sydney. I ate there three times, and it didn't fail me once. Nice beefy broth and abundant meat and noddles (for my stomach). Despite the not-so-Vietnamese look, Mumum brings you quite a distinctive Vietnamese flavor with its Pho -- and roasted pork vermicelli, compared with some well-known Vietnamese restaurants close-by which really disappointed me.
The downside is that the service is not consistent. But then, I guess that's what you would receive from quite a few other Vietnamese restaurants (believe it or not, I didn't even succeed in gaining a smiling face from any of them). But when it comes to food, Mumum is worth a try. All dishes are just around $10, btw.
