Some colleagues and I looked for a nearby cafe serving brunch and stumbled cross Grand Duk, a unique, tuckshop like food stall that also offers brunch menus. Today we opted for the canteen style meal of two mains and two sides, myself picking the pulled pork, ginger chicken, Portuguese chicken salad and sweet potato salad.

The food here is best described as homely, with a really modern Asian fusion taste. I didn't know they were a Vietnamese styled restaurant until I landed on the zomato page now, however I particularly enjoyed the pulled porks aromatic flavour paired with the fresh sweet potato, and a tender chicken.

Homely, good, hearty food that I would recommend in an outdoor goldcoast like ambience. Fast service as well (less than a minute receiving food)!

Charming little cafe in Grosvenor place with outdoor seating. If its cold they offer blankets to keep you warm too. Service is friendly and efficient and there are food to order from the menu or design your own plate with all the offerings displayed nicely in the windows. There is a great variety of food to choose from and all looked appetising and fresh. I chose the braised lamb, chicken schnitzel, fries and chorizo pasta on this occasion. Generous portions and lamb was very tender and flavoursome and chicken schnitzel crispy. Pasta was also good and fries were soggy as it was on the bottom of the plate but it was fine. Coffee is good as was the brownie. A lovely spot for a casual, tasty and relaxing meal.

Best sliders I have had for a looong time! Come after 3 pm to get a taste of the $3 Spicy Chicken slider during happy hour! The morning coffee is just as awesome!

Tucked away within the Grosvenor Place Piazza, Grand Duk is a charming little restaurant that delivers an Asian inspired fusion of modern Australian and French food, in a relaxed and casual dining environment.

Grand Duk scores highly in service, quality and consistency.

The service is warm, friendly, inviting and the staff are quick to attend to you, whether take away or table service. Over the dozens of times I've dined here, there have only been a few instances of incorrect orders being processed by the takeaway kitchen staff, but was promptly resolved with no hassles.

.The quality of the food and beverages served are of a very high standard and the prices are reasonable. I am often here for a coffee fix and the baristas can be seen putting a lot of love and effort in their creations.
The lunch time combo deals are excellent value for money at $12.90 for a main and two side. I have tried all their mains and while the options are limited, each dish stands out individually; the flavours are clear and the ingredients are fresh. There's an equally interesting set of salads should you wish for a healthy option. My favourite food items would be the bacon & egg wrap and the 12-hours braised lamb; excellent dishes that speak volumes in flavour and served in manageable portions..In terms of the ambiance; the design is bright, contemporary and with amply seating options. However, the service counter area can get quite crowded during busy times, as the waiting area shares space with the staff picking coffee & kitchen orders as well as other customers waiting in line to order.

.Overall, the service of the staff and quality of the food at Grand Duk has been very consistent; making the customer experience a very enjoyable one. Whether it's for coffee or to dine, Grand Duk is an excellent option within the Rocks and I would highly recommend paying a visit.

Dinner menu was way too simple.

Chicken/Beef Pho
And
Ask waiter for today special.

I was thinking... what's going on?

Located at Grosvernor Place, ( Note for Zomato team, its at the Rocks, and not in CBD)😝
I think because of the construction of light rail along George street, some business has got the impact.

Back to the food, so we ordered both pho, chicken and beef.

Personally Beef Pho taste super tasty.
You can taste the beef broth has been perfumed with star anise, cardamom, cloves, cinnamon and ginger.
On top of that sprig of coriander and basil also present with some beans sprout as a garnished.

Chicken Pho doesn't have a strong characteristic broth, like beef, however the generous amount of chicken pieces make up for it.

We went to Grand Duk for a team lunch. Most of us opted for the lunch set which lets you choose a protein main and two sides. I went with the waiter's suggestion of the pulled pork main, and steamed Asian vegetables and Italian salad as my sides. The food came quickly and was a good serving for the price. While the food wasn't amazing, it was solid and tasty. One minor quibble was that I wish it was served hotter especially as it was a cold day. But everyone was satisfied with their meals. The burgers were also well received, as well as the duck fat wedges which were beautifully fluffy inside but retained a crisp exterior. Besides the quick service, the menu also caters to various dietary needs. Lots of space and large tables, though most are exposed to the weather so I'm not sure what it would be like if it's raining. A few more outdoor heaters in winter wouldn't hurt either. Overall, would definitely recommend for casual group lunches (and they've also recently started dinner).

Grand Duk is a chic place to have lunch in Sydney CBD. We had a lovely brunch here sometime ago and I still remember how delicious everything we had was. I adore the interior of Grand Duk. It's got beautiful marble table tops (perfect for flatlays) and plush deep green leather seating.

I'm loving Eggs Benedict with Seared Salmon, The Breakfast Bowl, Avocado Lime and Coriander Smash, Salt and Pepper Squid, rice rolls - Sichuan Duck, Tiger Prawn and Spice Tofu & Enoki, served with hoisin peanut dip.

My favourite has got to be Coconut Yoghurt Chia Pot. It was light, creamy and delicious. Loving the desiccated coconut and blueberry toppings.

We finished our brunch off with dessert. Can't say no to dessert! Deep Fried Ice Cream was crunchy on the outside, and melts in your mouth at first bite.

Does this look like a restaurant to you? I think that’s definitely part of the charm of this breakfast and lunch eatery in the CBD right in the middle of Grosvernor Place across George Street from the cool new Ernst & Young building. It’s a very urban location with tables underneath glass parasols.

Celebrated the end of a client engagement with breakfast at the Grand Duk with my senior. Usually only ordered coffee at this place before heading back upstairs, but we had time to spare on a Friday morning today! Service was average, nothing amazing, got seated after waiting a while without being served, but that's fine.

We both ordered the brekky's nest ($15), and wasn't expecting much. What we were served, was quality food for a quality price. Definitely would order again if possible! Nothing too special in the cappuccino, but the food more than makes up for it. The photo speaks for itself.

Definitely would recommend! Especially if you work around Circular Quay.

While Grand Duk is not strictly Vietnamese, a light meal of banh mi thit prepared fresh are available for takeaway. Available also is a range of breakfast dishes you’ve come to expect from Sydney - Breakfast bowl – poached eggs, green leaves, nuts and seeds, avocado, pickles a tumble of salad or the light and flavourful King salmon tartare vietnamese flavours, fresh herbs, served with shrimp crackers

Had coffee and lunch here on a weekday and was pleasantly surprised. The lunch deals with 2 side and 1 protein (I also added 1 more protein) were great value and the serving size was very impressive. I usually eat every bit of food on my plate but only managed to eat half of it before being full. The variety of sides was satisfying too, I opted for veggies and mushroom pasta. The only complaint would be that my matcha latte was way too sweet. Will definitely go back again!

If there is any place I need to go to for a good, healthy, well balanced breakfast or lunch that serves great coffee or herbal tea (rooibos is my favourite), Grand Duk is my default place and this is despite all the new restaurants that have opened and are opening up in Sydney CBD. In my experience, Grand Duk has always offered a consistent and high standard of food and service over the years I've been there since it opened a few years back which keeps me drawing me back to them. They know my name and what coffee or drink I like, whether I want soy or almond milk. The service staff will bend over backwards for you to ensure you are happy with your visit. I love there selection of salads during lunch time and the flexibility to choose what you want. Price is very reasonable too.

Run amok at Grand Duk! A nice corporate cafe with excellent outdoor seating. The food here is also delicious and the coffee consistent. The other consistency would have to be the friendly service and upbeat staff :) here is a photo of their nice coffee cups (it looks like two different hands but plot twist they come from the same person) #EddyCReviews
