We were recommended the Nagasaki noodles the last time we were here, and we decided to order it this time around. It definitely did not disappoint! The karaage yaki soba was good as well, the karaage was lightly battered so we could taste more of the chicken. Definitely becoming one of our favourite Japanese eating place in Sydney.

Date night here. Had a few dishes, all delicious. The tuna belly sashimi was divine! The sashimi was fresh and delicious. Not too much variety but still good! The hot salmon dish was good too. Sake was divine! The wasabi leaves was a first for me! Very yummy! If I was a local I’d visit more regularly.

Amazing Japanese restaurant close to home. If you're looking for a great local Japanese restaurant that is authentic, this is the one. Excellent service and attentive chef! The sashimi and nigiri were fresh. Definitely order the gyoza, the filling is as close to the one you would get in Japan. Highly recommend.

Bianca: I am a little late to the party in regards to my new found obsession with Japanese food, namely, sushi. These days it’s a craving I can’t satiate, as I’m constantly on the hunt for my next sushi fix. Komatsu is relatively new in Concord, residing in a former fish come souva shop. The space is small and intimate but undoubtedly the most coveted seats are at the Sushi bar.

Relatively new restaurant in Concord and very much in a traditional style with an elegant  comfortable decor. Only seats some 30 people with some around the sashimi bar, so booking is advised.
Mainly Japanese staff, particularly the raw fish chef, usually a good sign.
Service can be a little tentative, but is courteous, therefore overall satisfactory.

We had sashimi which was wonderfully presented, each piece being of a good size, and very fresh.
Then had sushi which was again carefully prepared, but outshone by the excellence of the sashimi.
Also had the soft shell crab roll.
The chicken katsu don was very tasty with a good crispy crumbing, much better than many other Japanese restaurants.
I don't think the food was necessarily cheap, but very definitely value for money and quality.

It was overall quite nice experience. Staff were so kind and polite and food was tasty. Food was served in timely manner. Ordered 4 dishes and made two people full. Tempura was so crispy and nice however found out sweet potato was not cooked enough that it was a bit hard to eat. Sashimi was fresh, Udon soup taste lovely. Dragon roll was huge for a bite! 🤤

I enjoyed the meal in a little private room with my girls. Make sure you call to book if you want to sit in the rooms too! Highly recommend to try the Chawanmushi, miso eggplant and cold soba noodle❤️ I heard they have omakase session too! Definitely gonna come back and try it later😉

After hearing so many good things about this place for Omakase we were longing to try it out. Unfortunately the omakase was booked out for months and sms booking system where you need to pick the date to see for availability didn't help. Tip for the restaurant is to call if you want to book - much faster and easier that way. Still given the popularity we didn't get the omakase but was told their $150 course offers exactly the same thing so opted for the course. We had the privilege of being seated in a private room too :) The pumpkin puree chawanmusi was soft , consistency was on the spot. Sashimi was fresh but lacked the variety and grilled fish was my favourite. You have an option to choose your noodles, from cold soba to udon. I think its presentation and quality and for its price very reasonable in the area.

Lovely little Japanese restaurant in Rhodes central. Does get very busy so would recommend booking a few days in advance, or be prepared to wait for walk in. Highlights were the i) teriyaki chicken in the oyakodon. Juicy chicken thigh, the skin was crispy and tasted almost caramelised! ii) sushi rolls. Huge rolls packed with an assortment of fillings, great value for money. Karaage chicken was a little on the dry side. Chawanmushi was very average, and apparently contained foie gras and mushroom which were barely detectable.

Ordered a few dishes to try to see if we'd come back for the lunch/dinner course menu. The sashimi was very fresh, the sushi rolls, chicken and gyoza were decent. I'd go back again to order from the a la carte menu but I think I'd give Komatsu a bit more time before jumping in to try their courses. All in, the place was clean, food tasted fresh and the service was friendly.
