My go-to for lunchtime laksa in the CBD! I confess I'm probably one of the only people in Sydney who prefers it to Malay-Chinese.. even though the soup and toppings at Malay-Chinese are objectively better. I prefer the laksa at CBD Noodles because it is more savoury rather than sweet, the wide flat rice noodles are firmer (with more of a body) and the sambal has slightly more character (with a more pronounced prawn flavour). Note that it can get pretty spicy for the untrained, especially with the sambal.
At CBD Noodle are two queues: one for wok-fried noodles, the other for soup noodles. The line for the wok-fried noodles is usually longer, although I have only ever had the soup noodles. Lunch on weekdays tends to be packed from 12-1pm, but occasionally I have encountered a short line or even no line at all. In any case, it moves relatively fast - at maximum, a 10 minute wait to order and an additional 10 minutes to receive your noodles.
On the soup noodles side, there is also a choice of tom yum noodles or noodles with clear soup (usually with wontons). Once prepared, the lady at the end will ask whether you'd like it topped with shallots, fried onion and/or coriander - you can choose a maximum of two. In addition, you can have sambal (although the lady calls it "chilli") in the noodles or on a spoon on the side.
Overall, a quick, cheap, filling and delicious option for lunch!
One of my regular spots in the city to go for noodles and the noodles are always consistently good and never disappoints. I usually order the chicken noodle soup and I always ask for lots of chili paste the lady at the counter offers. It does feel like a reasonably healthy dish as well with chicken breast mainly used here with some veggies too.
There's always a huge line here and it's a good indication on the quality of food available.

We ordered for thick rice noodles with Pork, Choi sum and broccoli , it was so good that we have had it 2 days in a row , very well prepared and authentic flavours , keep it up .
The stir fried noodles are really really tasty. I've tried the chicken and the beef versions and would recommend the beef one, with egg noodles and oyster sauce.
Desent Laksa - only complaint is that you don't get enough fried onions on your laksa, if the lady could be a bit more generous with that it would be perfect.
I like the stir fry and tom yum noodles here. It used to be very smoky in this building because of their kitchen but after the refurbishment of winter garden, it now feels breathable. Good food and usually a long line, so that's a clear indication that it is a winner. You can customise your stir fry noodles by selecting the meat, the sauce and choice of veggies. I like that it is freshly cooked to order, unlike food that has been on the hot plate all day.
Located in winter garden food court cbd noodle consistently has a line of people waiting for either their bowl of laksa or container of stirfry. You can tell the regulars who have their order system down pat as oppose to the new comers slowly working their way down the line of options. This place has something for everyone as you select your type of noodles, vegetables, meat and sauce. In winter I highly recommend their laksas. My go to stirfry is the prawn with rice noodles and Malaysian chilli sauce. While you wait for your order watch the chefs in the kitchen turning out 100s of orders over the wok. The only negative I would say is that the meats often spill over into other sections of the vegetables so if you are particular about this or have allergies this may not be the place for you. Otherwise give it a try!
Never a dull moment at CBD Noodle, serving up both noodles and soups.
Quick, fresh and well made, it will have you coming back for more. Laskas are great and offer large portions.
Shame about the lines during lunch, snaking around Wintergarden - testament to the food I guess

Very busy noodle shop in the Winter Garden food court. Quite popular with the office crowd during lunch. There’s two lines one for noodle soup and stir fried noodles, with the latter the more in demand. You choose your noodles and toppings and they cook it fresh for you on the spot. Noodles are nice, would recommend
Always really good. Freshly cooked noodles. Good selection of ingredients and sauces. It does get very busy at lunch time though so come early if you don't want to wait.
Great lunch time good - especially for a Friday! Been coming here for ages, only set back is the massive price hikes that have been occurring more and more.
This is simply the best Laksa I have ever had. While there are a variety of dishes available at CBD noodles, including feshly made stir fry dishes, the signature dish has to be the Laksa. Popular at lunchntime, the long lines usually move very quickly as the system is setup for speed without sacrificing quality. Definitely try the Chicken Laksa, ask for extra wontons to make it just that little bit more perfect. Card payment accepted and they even provide bibs to protect your business shirt from splashback, perfect score!
Malaysian Noodles were very appetising. Service was quick.
Still maintaining the same quality after almost 2 decades at the same place in Wintergarden. Hats off.
