That day I and two friends came to this restaurant and had 3 bowls of different ramen. We had to wait for 20 mins to enjoy ? but everything was alright. The broths are so sweet because of bones and charsiu wasssss soooo soft?? It may be a good choice when eating ramen.

A bright little ramen joint that will spark a sense of familiarity for those that were lucky enough to have been to Ichiran.
When it comes to the ramen, if you're a fan of broth that's on the heavier side, you won't be disappointed with the ramen here.
The flavours are bold, the serving size generous and the variety for a ramen joint will give you many options when you eventually come back for more.

Do try: the black tonkotsu ramen for something out of the ordinary.

I like the ramen, it will be on my top 5 list.
Broth was tasty and flavourful, tonkutsu was thick, soft and tasty, Noodles was perfect for me.
Egg was so good. And friendly staff, clean place and mostly, very cheap for a bowl of good ramen.

Cold rainy day is perfect for ramen. I and Xihuahua 🐶 continue our journey to seek out the top ramen in Sydney. This seemed to be a fairly new store. Mismatched western pop songs echo in the modern Japanese styled noodle hall. The staff are very polite and friendly. Though service speed was a tad slow for they have almost reached max capacity.

The noodles themselves is quite tough. Note to myself to order softer noodle later. The soup did not really have fish flavour to me and black garlic flavour was kind of burnt and bitter. I would say otherwise the soups are great and unique among the Sydney ramen shops. Special bonus to the green veg added to the fish soup. I love veg.

Eggs are not marinated but super tender. Yummo! Now the meat! They use strips of meat. I was let down by the sight of thick cut pork as usually it is a sign of tough meat. But oh man I was so wrong. It was tender and just melts away in my mouth. I had better melty meat before and this isn't far from the best.

The noodles were nice and dandy so we added some gyoza. They were good little bites. Not the best but the value is fantastic. The filling is moist but do not have juice. Skin could be crispier.

Overall we were quite happy! Not the best on our list but I could certainly come back if I am foraging nearby. 🍜

Best ramen ever!
Hand made noodles and soup base made my ramen experience better than ever! Because of that, it took quite a bit for food to come out. Still the wait was really worth it.
I would come back to try the rest of the menu 😙

The ramen is so yummy BUT food takes ages to come out...so be ready to wait at least half an hour for your bowl of ramen. It would be good if they could quicken their service in future! Worth the wait overall

With floor to ceiling glass windows and a sculptural blonde wood interior that extends up onto the ceiling, Tontaro Ramen Honten casts a cosy warm glow onto Sussex Street. It’s what attracted me into this little ramen shop, before I knew it was yet another Jun Toyoda enterprise. You might know this restauranteur from his food court Chinatown eatery, Ramen O-San, or from his North Shore ramen shop, Ramen Megumi, or maybe you’re familiar with his long-standing Potts Point restaurant, Busshari, joined more recently by yet another ramen spinoff, Wok and Noodle Bar. Either way, Toyoda is big news. At Tontaro, Toyada is trying to branch out from the collagen-rich, thick tonkotsu ramen he’s famous for at O-San. Rather than fatty pork bones, he’s gone for...

Love the broth, love the noodles and the meat. The broth is rich, flavourful and hot, ramen is cooked to perfection and the meat is generously portioned and not too fatty.

The karaage chicken is very juicy, perfect with the mayo and cabbage.

Very delicious and hope to come again.
