So, many of my friends have told me that Tim ho wan is just overpriced yum cha, however, if I must have one dish, it’s the baked bbq pork buns. So this is exactly what I got. A set of 3 pieces for $9.5, it is a bit pricey but TASTES SO GOOD. If you’re a fan of steamed bbq pork buns/ char siu baos, then I highly recommend giving these buns a shot as the baked bun works well taste wise and texture wise.
Pork buns. Enough said. Lol. I guess everyone knows that Tim Ho Wan is famous for its freshly baked pork buns which goes well with its iced milk tea. I can proudly say that I can finish 3 pork buns in one seating. 😋
The elusive Michelin star restaurant landed in Sydney a while back and I finally gotten around to visiting.
The options were wide and you could generally find your favourites like prawn dumpling and pork and prawn dim sum. But I wanted something different.
We tried their special pork buns, the garlic and chicken rice and the clear spinach dumplings. The dumplings were beautiful and delicate with a generous amount of filling.
The chicken rice similarly was generous and packed full of flavour.
The pork buns however were a bit disappointing, I found the exterior far too sweet and awkward with the soft inside. Although I've heard so many people rave about this, I'll probably give it a kiss next time.
