The meat pie was impressive! so.as the lamb skewers, juicy and big chunk . The ox tongue is a test to check can u tolerate the freshness of it, I asked for chillies. All ladies who served us are friendly, it just took them a but to warm up. Decor is not fancy but it s authentic style
Hand pulled noodles
We had a great dinner here - lamb dumplings, spicy chicken and lamb skewers and stir fried chicken noodles (hand-pulled). The dumplings and skewers were unremarkable but the noodles were terrific - just so tasty and chewy!
A definite distinction with a traditional chinese restaurant. The atmosphere and look of the restaurant may be a bit dingy, however the food and value is nothing short of spectacular.
The lamb skewers are generously portioned and are grilled fresh to order. The 'big plate chicken' is one of their signatures and definitely lives up to its namesake.
Highly recommend this establishment.

Love this place. Uighur cuisine is quite different from the standard type of Chinese / cantonese which seems to dominate (slowly changing). The food is good, tasty and filling. Great place to come with mates as it's BYO and not formal, you can relax, have a few beers and feast on lamb.
The restaurant we reviewed this week is probably the most iconic uyghur restaurant in Sydney. Kiroran Silk Road Uygur restaurant is located between Chinatown and Chinese Botanical Garden. The restaurant itself looks pretty old fashioned with quite a basic look-and-feel. However, this doesn’t stop people from coming in and enjoying their BBQ lamb skewers or their jumbo chicken dish.

Authentic Uygur food. This place has a huge selection of dishes. We ordered a bunch of vegan dishes (noodle soup, noodles, glass noodles, vegetables, tofu). My parents ordered the lamb skewers and also the chicken dish which they said was delicious. BYO as well which is a bonus.
Best lamb skewers I’ve ever had - definitely hit this hidden gem up if you love your lamb ! Also tried the rice dish which was quite nice. This place is also BYO which is great :)
I finally came to this restaurant for big plate chicken. Very satisfied. The chicken comes with small jumbo (lol) & big jumbo sizes. And the dish includes grilled potato, chicken with delicious handmade noodle base.
A small size of big plate chicken plus an entree and maybe a couple of lamb skewers are way too sufficient for two ppl.
Usually I won’t eat lamb because of the gamey flavour, but this restaurant makes yummy lamb kebabs covered with cumin! I really enjoyed it!
The restaurant is located in a noisy lane way in china town, but you will not hear the noise as this restaurant in on level 2. Different from other Chinese restaurants, it all plays chill indie songs at the background, which creates a relaxing atmosphere : )
We came here last night and really enjoyed their food and service. No cork charges for the bottle of whiskey we brought in. Lamb skewers was definitely my favourite. Had a few kf noodles, dumplings and buns and they were all great.

I hate comparing but the food was not as I expected. Their pastry had too much of an onion content, thus, did not agree with our stomachs. Soup was great though.
Noodle needed more chilli.
Manta was too big and filling was not as tasty.
Their service was excellent.
Very good experience. Good lamb and glass noodle salad. The egg soup was hearty. Good price too. byo no surcharge.

One of my favourite restaurants in Sydney I have been coming here for years. I always have a fantastic experience. The food is exceptionally flavorful, and there is so much variety. If I could give ten stars to this restaurant, I would. The servers were also very friendly and accommodating. Great halal restaurant, will definitely visit again.
Unbelievably delicious. Although the decor is short on charm, the food is long on flavor. Every dish is memorable. I've never had anything I didn't love. All the classic Uyghur dishes are available and the quality is certainly equal to, if not better than, what you would find in China. Highly, highly recommended.
Was a very busy weekend dinner with understaffed restaurant so which is why our experience was somewhat ruined. You can tell this is a family run business and the food was good, generous and had soul in them. the lamb skewers awesome but unfortunately some items that we ordered were cancelled because they sold out or the kitchen got too busy. We understand the current situation with staff shortages which is why we didn’t mind. We will come back again when things are more normal.
