Visited Chato Tapas on Friday night, easy to get a booking, service was excellent, food was delicious, plenty of choice with drinks, we took advice of our very attentive waiter and thoroughly enjoyed his choice, sweets...what can I say, we shared two sweets, the churros and the baked custard which was really a Creme brûlée and to die for, delicate toffee on top, we will most certainly visit again, all in all a most enjoyable night, our thanks to the staff and the owner Maria.
Great tucked away Spanish restaurant. Paella was beautiful and chefs selection tapas was a Fantastic selection of oysters, king fish, black pudding... . Scallops to die for
At this point in the stage 4 restrictions/curfew, I was getting jaded and sorely missing dine-in food, when Chato renewed my enthusiasm for home delivered food. Prompt and friendly delivery from the restaurant, and the most amazing chicken I've had for a while - their pollo a la brasa. Charred half chicken and potatoes in a lemon marinade that was so delicious, we didn't even need the patatas bravas sauce that I normally love. From the entrees: croqueta and tortilla were nice, empanada was ok, goat's cheese ball was a little too sweet from the honey, lamb skewer was delicious (again, amazing marinade). The chorizo and jamon rolls were ok, although we were getting full by this stage so may not have been in the best state to appreciate them. Highly recommended. Can't wait to come back for the chicken and lamb!
We were so lucky to get a table without a booking! Super friendly service here who gave plenty of help explaining the menu to us. Highlight of the meal was definitely the mushroom and spinach croquettas and ‘like it black’ cocktail 👌🏼
The food was tasty and of a great standard and value. The service was 👌🏽 very helpful and friendly. Loved it
An amazing Spanish restaurant and found the food flavours and quality up there with some Hugh end Spanish restaurants.
The tapas were amazing, calamari well seasoned and tender, and the swordfish special really was something special.
Fantastic drink list with a great variety of wines by the glass and cocktails.
Highlight was dessert. Churros were nice, but the crema catalana was incredible!
Look forward to visiting again!
Dear Maria and staff, I would like to thank you very much for the wonderful delicious and well presented food we had for my birthday last night 21 Nov 2019. The staff was attentive, responsive and very friendly! I had special needs on the night and they were so easily and promptly accommodated. I really appreciate this so I could enjoy a good yummy meal with all my friends who were delighted with the taste and quality of the meal.!!! Thank you Chato
Boy do I love tapas.
It brings me back to when we went to Barcelona a few years ago, on a trip that I wish I could relive over and over again. Spanish food is just so diverse and interesting when it comes to the flavours of the ingredients and the intricate designs of each dish. That is why tapas is so great. You get to try a bit of everything! That is why when deciding on what to order, we went for something that ‘took us on a journey of taste and texture’.
Very friendly staff. Mostly traditional Spanish tapas.
Dishes made with quality ingredients and presented nicely. Some very good wine from a small, concise list.
Reasonable prices. What more do you want?
Will return. Recommended.
A really amazing place. My partner and I had a dinner date night here. Not only were the wait staff friendly, efficient and knowledgeable - the food was absolutely delicious. I recommend trying the croquetteas & paella. Overall a great experience at Chato. Thumbs up, thanks guys.
$35 for all you can eat tapas....winning! Great service and the food was outstanding. We will be back on another night to try the paella and Spanish wines.
Very happy tried this restaurant. The food is very good. First time tried vermouth, perfect match with tapas, delicious!
We ordered Squid Ink Seafood Paella, it looks "burned charcoal", the scallop and calamari are cooked well, the presentation has missed the mark, too much squid ink, should leave the seafood without covering the ink and put on top. Our mouth & lips turned completely black when eating this dish.
Dessert is also very yummy too, I ordered the chocolate truffles with turmeric latte ice cream.
Excellent tapas (loved the ceviche), although have to wonder whether the tasty single piece of prawn with spicy bisque was worth the price (3 prawns would have been better!). Leche frita de chocolate was a huge serving but somewhat disappointing in flavour; however, the crema catalana was divine. Piccolo coffee was a good way to end the meal. Service was super friendly and fast. Will come back to try the paella!
My partner and I had lunch here and we were pleasantly surprised by the spread of food and excellent service. We has the cured meat board which was delicious and all the little tapas especially the scallops was amazing!
It's always nice to go there, great service and great food. There's a range of tapas between $5 to $25 dishes.
Staff very friendly.
Service nice and quick.
Nice atmosphere, rustic.
Delicious food, very tender and flavour to die for.
Refreshing Traditional Sangria.
Will definitely be going back.

Nice way to sample some tapas at $50 per person on Wed night with all you can eat. Some dishes much better than others, but overall good quality and taste. Some good vegetarian options as well
Amazing!
