They have some of the best beer and spirits you will find in Melbourne. It’s just a shame they feel the need to charge so much for it. And the pizza is incredible. But again, $25 for less than a large? Do you kneed platinum in to the dough?
I called in here w a few friends. I like a good craft beer selection and this place had one of the biggest menus that I’ve seen.
I tried a pineapple beer which was almost a juice, both in consistently and density. Mmnn not my favourite.
The chocolate brown stout was better, creamy with a good flavour.
The third beer I tried was more of a pale ale and this was the winner. This place also sells beers and other drinks that you can drink on site, in the beer garden which I’m definitely doing next time.
And the beer garden is great, except on a hot day in full sun lol

Cracking venue, beers and knowledge from staff are second to none. Proper hospo here and they never disappoint. They’re always the first to get the good stuff in and their whisky is grand. Always spend a small fortune here so beware!
Carwyn is a local favourite, and always fun for a casual stop-in whilst on a walk around the neighbourhood. Outdoor beer garden is very cute, and is great for a drink with friends, and is dog friendly. It is a little annoying that you are not able to eat outside if youre in the seating on the street (as it is a smoking area), so that cuts out a fair bit of space where food is able to be consumed. The selection of sparklings/champagnes could also be improved, particularly the ones available by the glass. If you're a beer drinker though this is definitely an ideal place for you!

Went here for casual drinks - a super trendy Northside bar with vast selection of dranks. Ordered the Tinto and a cheese platter which the staff were really accomodating to! Amazing cheese & quince paste provided with a whole bowl of crackers to match 👌🏼
Quality local bar in Preston. Rotating beers on tap, with approx 20 on offer at any one time, with a large selection of hard to find whiskeys and scotches too. Great atmosphere, with food sometimes on offer, as well as the ability to order local takeaway all the time. If you love your beer, it's hard to go past carwyn.

We came here on KBS day and the place was packed! We lined for a good 30 mins to get our beers but considering the rarity of the keg that is to be expected. Beer itself was amazing, and they had a truly great tap list. We stayed for multiple beers, and although they had problems with payment and closed the bar for an hour or so, we returned after going to get food for even more because the tap list was so good. Cool vibe, dingy lighting with some interesting art. A great find and will definitely be returning :)
Our only regret is not arriving earlier. We rocked up at about 12.30am, so we didn't have long to enjoy this cozy, dark bar at the back of a bottle shop. We don't know what music they were playing, but it had a real raw, rocky/punky vibe to it -- much more in line with what we like to hear in a bar. Our group had a variety of pale ales, dark ales, whisky, and tequila -- all somehow before they turned the lights on -- so we finally hit the right place on our bar crawl this night. Mental note: go earlier next time. If you like an off-beat atmosphere and a great selection of drinks - a definite "must try"!
So, my favourite bottle shop has morphed into a pretty sweet little bottle shop-come-bar. There's a massive range of spirits and tap beers offered on rotation with an emphasis on local and boutique tipples. A handful of good wines sitting behind the bar are also available by the glass but the best part is that you can buy a bottle from the store and drink it in the bar for a small corkage fee. This pleases me greatly as someone who is tired of bars/restaurants having pretty rubbish wine lists that are massively marked up. Burritos and nachos are served up if you get hungry but we ordered in pizza from The Moor's Head (there's a selection of menus available from nearby eateries who deliver).
