Full of flavour, perfectly cooked, decent servings and a very good price, this restaurant serves some of the best Indian food in Victoria Park by some margin. Our regular take away choice of beef masala, lamb rogan josh, butter chicken and saffron rice is always most satisfying and delicious.
Highly enjoyable and pleasant experience from start to finish.
Me and my partner have probably walked past Real Flavours Of India many times in Vic Park, but tonight we felt like Indian cuisine and decided to give it a go.
Right from the start, we were greeted by friendly and polite staff, who showed us to a table immediately. The décor was fantastic with lots of neutral colours. The staff immediately provided us with water and left us to give us a moment to decide on drinks. We decided on the "Are You Game? Proseco" which was enjoyably fruity and sparkly.
For the Entrée we went with the Chicken Tikka, which when came out looked delicious and tasted just so. Everything on the plate was edible, the chicken was tender and just melted in your mouth, put a few drops of lemon juice on your chicken, you won't be disappointed.
Mains was Butter Chicken, Saffron Rice with a Garlic Naan. We were advised by staff that this might not be enough for us and recommended another serving of rice, which rightly so, if you were ravenous then yes I'd recommend another serving, but as me and my partner are not big eaters, the servings provided were more than adequate.
Once again, I was not let down. The rice was beautiful, fluffy and fragrant. The Butter Chicken was creamy and tender and the spices just complimented each other. The Garlic Naan, was buttery and soft and was devoured almost instantly.
Including me ordering another beer, the whole meal came to about $60, which is pretty standard if you take into account the location, staff wages, overheads etc etc.
All in all, a highly enjoyable and pleasant experience from start to finish, which I would highly recommend to those who enjoy Indian cuisine.
great food! but lighting way too bright!! feels like youre dining in an operating theatre. recommend you only go there for takeaway
