Review Pink Salt - Woollahra

Had our wedding here. Everything from the venue to the food and staff were perfect. Would highly recommend for any type of function.

I have been there on a Saturday early evening. The food was great and good customer service. However there was happening a function and the ambient was really loud. Hard to talk with the waiter and almost impossible to hear what they said. I suggest to keep the music low because it's not a night club. Decor is good and there's a nice bar area.

I came for dinner and drinks. The cocktails were chic, delicious and priced well for the area. I also found their wine by the glass list to be of a fine selection. The service was prompt. The food delicious with very nice portions and scrumptious sides. The deserts I must say were certainly the highlight. A real show case. Feminine, to die for. I still give this restaurant my highest recommendation. A must for couples and girls nights out.

Poor at best. So many AMAZING eateries in the area - THIS IS NOT ONE OF THEM! The waitress' were all lovely. We ordered a bottle of pretty expensive wine and asked if it would be okay to taste - after tasting we were not overly impressed as it tasted slightly off. The owner abruptly approached our table within seconds, made us so uncomfortable and insisted that we must pay for the wine as "we don't sell it by the glass"... he was so pompous, smug and matter-of fact it was disgusting and at that point we were ready to walk out the door. A COCKROACH crawled out of out table after we ordered, we had to ask if they could put a menu down as a place-mat to block the hole and avoid it coming out when our meal arrived. The venue was cold, the toilets were dirty. It's a shame because I had a meal here a few months ago and no issues - perhaps it has changed hands.

This is a WONDERFUL spot. Great modern decor throughout. Staff are incredibly friendly and service is so efficient. The food.... exactly how food should be - quality is beautiful, flavours are interesting without becoming over-complicated, and the menu is diverse enough to have something for everyone - the chefs and management clearly know what they're doing and they're doing it really well. Anyone in or visiting Sydney who want a well-priced, delicious and friendly dining experience should check it out!

This is without doubt one of the finest dining experiences I have ever had. Food is exceptional and the staff are so attentive and friendly. I honestly cannot fault it in any way. If you’re looking for a restaurant for a special night out this is the one.

ALWAYS AMAZING, most recent visit was no different!!! Have been going into Pink Salt on and off now going on over 7 years. For birthdays, 2 wedding anniversaries, parties, and just simply for dinner with friends. I am not one to leave reviews but the food, service and wine are all amazing. It also helps that the ambience is one of complete style and sophistication whilst still being totally relaxed and inviting. Evan and his staff are always welcoming. But seriously that wine menu though, my favourite in Sydney, you can never go wrong!!!!

Recently a group of work colleagues and I went to Pink Salt on a Friday night for drinks/dinner, we had a fantastic time! The barman made me an old fashioned which was really good. We tried some of their shared dishes for mains. We had the whole roast chicken and the slow cooked sirloin. This worked out to $30 a head for the 4 of us, but probably could've fed 6 people. We skipped desserts to sit back in the lounge and continue drinking, the live singer was really impressive.

Came here for dinner a few months ago. It is a very quiet establishment and on my recent trip to Sydney it was also very quiet. <br/><br/>The food was good but not great and the wine list was a little limited for our liking. I think the menu needs a freshen up and more of a better vibe to come here. Just felt a little flat.

I was there with my wife and found it was very average food for the price you pay. The texture of the hummus was that of dried up peanut butter.

This place have a creative dessert. This pink salt's egg from white chocolate, mango, kataifi and pistachio. This looks like golden egg for me and so freshzz love the sour and sweet combination.

In the last couple of years Pink Salt has undergone a paint job, changing from the original pink walls to a more simpler palate of black and white. Although the walls may have changed, the quality of the food did not. With an outdoor and indoor dining area it offers you the chance to enjoy the summer night or keep warm in winter. If you’re looking to have a function they also have section located at the back near the bar which you can hire for your event. <br/><br/>The menu is more fine dining rather than large portions of decadent dishes, each meal is artistically put together and has a pairing food or drink that can be recommended by one of the helpful waiters. At Pink Salt the menu has been designed to share choosing from either small and large plates. Generally for a sitting of 4 people 2 small and 3 large plates with dessert is more than plenty. The prices are quite dear but when you factor in that its designed for sharing it works well on price. We recommend the haloumi, watermelon, melon and mint salad, the grilled octopus, the gnocchi both delicious and soft and the pork belly. For dessert definitely give the soft serve of the moment a try and be surprised by the unique flavours they create. The caramel ice-cream sandwich is not too shabby either.

<br/>Totally loved Pink Salt - delicious menu, but complete understanding and accommodation of guests' needs. New Year's Eve was super special thanks to Nathan and the team. A perfect night - couldn't recommend more highly. Looking forward to next time<br/>

I had a very negative experience at Pink Salt. While the staff were friendly, they were very amateur and did not know the menu well. The food was very below average and I felt that when it came to meat and seafood, it was not fresh at all. This place is overpriced, and bad quality. In a foodie city like sydney, there are much better places out there.

I have mixed emotions about this place, I really enjoyed the vibe and I had such a great time here! <br/>The food was good, just not amazing. <br/>Vibe wise I would go back for drinks and a cheese platter. The desserts definitely disappointed me, lacked satisfaction that you crave from dessert. <br/>Staff were nicer than I expected!

Couldn't go to double bay and not pop in to Pink Salt for some dessert. I was very conflicted as to order the ice cream sandwich or soft serve - went with the sandwich coz it was raining so I wanted to take my time lol. Sable/sponge was brilliant. Dulce de leche rich and sweet. Vanilla bean ice cream could have been smoother but I'm really nitt picking here. Nice venue 👏

This place is located just off New South Head Road in Double Bay. Parking is easy and the space is this great fusion of indoor/outdoor seating. The decor is stylish and differently matches it surrounds. The menu is awesome and is best shared with someone. A selection of smaller and larger plates will tickle your tastebuds - whatever you choose though make sure that you leave room for dessert. If you are a cheese person jump onto that otherwise you will be singing the blues on the way home. Our choice was the ice cream sandwich - delicious (probably best not shared). Note that prices are not cheap. Like to be part of the in crowd - hit the place on a Friday and Saturday night where the place comes alive with an in house DJ.

Beautiful restaurant located in Double Bay serving delicious food in a relaxed environment. The customer service is very attentive. I highly recommend the lamb ribs and a soft serve! Bookings are easily made through qaundoo.

My fiancé and I held our engagement party at Pink Salt last weekend and we were overwhelmed by how amazing the night was! Evan and his team of staff are so friendly and accommodating and made us feel like family. Although I wanted a cocktail-style function, I was concerned that there wouldn't be enough food for people to feel that they were properly fed - that definitely was not the case at Pink Salt. We chose a 10 canapé function package and the food was sensational and plentiful. We were able to serve our own cake too. We also had guests that required vegetarian and gluten free options and the chefs were able to prepare special platters just for these guests. The atmosphere of the upstairs bar is so sexy and chic and even without the decorations we brought in, it would have looked fabulous. I cannot rate this restaurant highly enough. All of our guests raved about our choice of venue and the food. It was a perfect night, thanks to the wonderful team at Pink Salt - thank you, again!

Dropped in with the family on a Wednesday night. Due to another large party there were a few menu items unavailable which the staff apologised many times for. The Angus beef was perfectly cooked and delicious. Other items were also well presented and tasty. We had a very impressive White choc dessert and were comped ice creams, which was really very kind and very delicious. The wine list is small, but happy to see many SA offerings.

Really pleasantly surprised by this place. Some reviews are very divisive but we had a wonderful experience here. The venue is really impressive and the staff friendly and helpful. Most importantly the food is great and so are the cocktails, the latter of which I found to be really unique and adventurous. The spanakopitas are probably the best I've ever had and the ribs are so juicy and full of flavour. The price is a little expensive but not out of place for the area. Would definitely go back

Went to pink salt with a party of five so we decided to get a few share plates between us. We started with some cocktails which were tasty, then it was onto the share plates. The sweet potato fries were the best I've ever eaten, the home made bread was to die for and the lamb was delicious. We tried all the desserts including the signature soft serve, which is a must if you go here.

Popped into Pink Salt on a busy Friday night for a light dinner. The food took a while to come out, which was probably due to how busy it was. The oysters were a bit warm when they came out. The wait staff were excellent and swapped them over straight away. The other dishes were delicious. Really friendly and efficient service.

Good food and ambience. Limited wine selection in the restaurant but the bar makes up for it! Great casual dining. Food is tasty as well. For dessert, wasn't a fan! To really enjoy this place,<br/>Get in early, have a drink at the bar, stay for dinner and continue with a drink or two.... Enjoyed it.

Pink Salt!! Perfectly situated in double bay, was hop skip and a jump for me since I was staying at the Intercontinental. The service at the place was great, very attentive staff. I ordered the squid and the chicken for starters. Very average. Food you expect in a pub, until I ordered mains. The grass fed beef filet! Had to be one of the most amazing beef filets I've had in the city! It was perfectly cooked, salty and juicy. I really missed my mash potatoes with it which wasn't available. But was forgiven since they made up for it with the beef! The dessert was fantastic as well! Had a bite of the chocolate mousse from a mate and I had the mint chocolate ice cream. Amazing!

Thought it couldn't get any better... Then the desserts came out! Piña Colada soft serve, cherry gelato chocolate mousse, strawberries & cream panna cotta. Everything was 10/10

Loved this restaurant! Had dinner here on Saturday night and was impressed with both the atmosphere and the food. The haloumi salad with nectarine, pine nuts and vincotto was a light and tasty starter to share. For main I ordered the spatchcock with corn puree, broccolini and savory granola.  I normally avoid ordering chicken when dining out as I often find it a bit boring but this dish was spectacular! Every element of this meal was perfectly executed. Finally, purely for the novelty factor I ordered the soft serve dessert which was marshmallow and chocolate soft serve with toasted marshmallow bites, smoked caramel shards and graham cracker crumb. A fun way to end the meal.

Great quality food. Would like to go again and try some more dishes soon. Tried some fish which was nicely cooked and a steak that was excellent.

My boyfriend and I recently visited Pink Salt in Double Bay and had an incredible experience. Front of house staff was professional and friendly, our server was efficient with just the right amount of table attention (hard to find in Sydney). For entrees we had the popcorn chicken, an upper class version of the KFC classic and grilled haloumi with greens and apricots, a really interesting and unique flavor combo. For mains we had the 300 g sirloin and saffron gnocchi with duck, peas and parmesan. Both were wonderful, the steak well cooked with perfectly crispy onion rings (we would have liked to have even more of those) and the gnocchi was melty and creamy and perfectly paired with the duck meat. Dessert was anther pleasant surprise. We ordered the chocolate delice and one of the specials (a white chocolate egg in a crispy kataifi nest) and were blown away by the diverse and unexpected flavors. We'll definitely come back, we need to try the charcuterie board!

After a busy Father's Day, the staff were delightfully good natured. Fun, casual atmosphere. I thoroughly enjoyed the barramundi with clams in a delicious sauce and my friend loved the gnocchi with duck ragu. Her eyes lit up at the soft serve ice cream, studded with chocolate, as excitedly as the day before when she bought diamonds!

I haven't eaten a meal like this in ages! Everything was delicious, from entree, to main to dessert. So yum. In addition, the head waiter/maître d' was fantastic, relatable and just lovely. Will definitely go back again.

Visited family in sydney last week and they took us to pink salt in double bay. It looked very different to when we visited here about 5 years ago. The food was also different but definitely for the better!! Being greek we loved the Mediterranean style outdoor area and the greek touches to the menu.. we had haloumi, tomato salad, spanakopita, octopus, louvi and lamb shoulder..it was very modernised though, which was great. Dessert we had the donuts which again were a bit like greek loukamades, warm, crispy and tasty with a delicious icecream, we later found out that all the icecreams were made at pink salt. Had a beautiful night and im happy to see that some places stand the test of time.
Amys_food_adventures
I tried their new winter menu and it was amazing! <br/><br/>Everything from the grilled haloumi, braised octopus, saffron gnocchi and duck ragu, pork belly, croquettes and onto the desserts of the tonka bean pannacotta, chocolate delice and donuts were sensational. <br/><br/>Evan the owner was very hospitable. Wines were also good. <br/><br/>They tend to get pretty busy so its best to reserve a table for future visits.

Overall, good food, good wine and good company. I will definitely be back to try the rest of the new menu.

With the change of season it was definitely time for a change of menu and Pink Salt were kind enough to invite us and other choice bloggers to try their new one out.

written by forfoodssake Alex : ‘Pink Salt’  originally found its fame and attention from the TV show ‘My Restaurant Rules’ back in 2005 and has the distinction of being the only surviving restaurant from the TV series. With a recent revamp, both the restaurant and the menu has a whole new look. Gracing the corner of Cross Street in Sydney’s Double Bay Pink Salt is all about shared plates offering homely, mediterranean style food.  As Double Bay tends to be a regular haunt for my friends and I, I have always passed Pink Salt and wanted to sit and dine for lunch, (I still want to as this was a dinner experience!) I would peruse the menu with intrigue so it was great to see that they change seasonally meaning a variety of different foods throughout the year. To start this extremely torrential rainy wet evening we were brought some  Crab & pancetta croquettes w/rouille  $14.  A fabulous starter that was moreish but not over the top. Simple food being elevated with an innovative mix of ingredients. We didn’t get any overwhelming notes of crab which was great for me. During the evening we had 3 interchanging dishes amongst the large tables. I received the  Scallops, burnt carrot, black pudding crumbs, orange, saffron $19.  As some might already know, I am not a seafood eater. I avoid it at all costs unless it’s fried and lathered in some sort of batter BUT this was not only visually stunning, it tasted phenomenal. The scallops were cooked sensationally and I also liked the addition of the black pudding crumbs rather than having a large piece of it as it can often be a little hard to stomach. A great way to start off the night! Others on the table were given  Grilled haloumi, nectarine, pine nuts, vincotto $18 and   Braised octopus, squid ink aioli, pickled vegetables $ 22.  Unfortunately there were mixed comments about these two dishes. I tried the haloumi and agreed it should have been hotter before it hit the table. As haloumi already has quite a rubbery texture the fac

All types of not good. Service shoddy and food bad. Nice owner.

Terrible service - not worth it. If you are looking for good food and service around the East, do not go here. Service was a joke and I was embarrassed to have brought my friends here. The waiters were unable to clear and set the table after each dish and the food was mediocre at best. Especially disappointed with the risoni chicken. There are far better places to eat in the area - don't waste your time or money.

Offering shared, nourishing and wholesome meals, Pink Salt is an establishment that's both casual and elegant with a distinct Mediterranean vibe. With a new spring menu out we decided to pop in and have a try for ourselves. Sour Apple Vodka Martini - Mickey Finn Sour Apple & Vodka Starting off the night was a sharp and sweet Sour Apple Martini. The perfect way to start the night with a touch of class and your hands around a glass. Pino’s Dulce Vita Charcuterie A fantastic cold meat selection of sopressa, bresaola and truffle prosciutto are served with wholgrain mustard,  sweet and sour pickles and charred brasserie bread. Great t pick on over a cocktail or two while you're deciding on what to eat. Sydney Rock Oyster, Ponzu Granita, Fried Eschalot I've got to admit I'm not a very big fan of the Sydney Rock Oyster, preferring Pacific Oysters much more, however the ponzu granita did give theses a refreshing, slightly tart flavour. Octopus, Crab Cakes, Citrus, Herbs Quite a nice dish, the crab cakes were golden and crisp with a comforting soft crab and potato filling, whilst tender discs of octopus await underneath with a light and creamy dill  sauce. Slow Cooked Lamb Shoulder On to mains with this hefty slow cooked lamb shoulder for two. While the meat was very well cooked, easily falling off the bone, I did wish there were stronger flavours seasoning it. A touch or garlic? A sprig of rosemary? That goes for the accompanying roasted veggies too. Buttermilk Panacotta, Milk Crumb, Strawberry Sorbet Dessert time, and for this we chose the buttermilk panacotta. Soft, sweet and like velvet on the tongue, I really enjoyed the how richly creamy it was, whilst the tartness of the strawberry sorbet perfectly matched it for a great balanced dish.

Let’s all be ladies of leisure and have lunch in Double Bay, at nice places like  Pink Salt … Pink Salt has been around for a few years now – I don’t remember exactly what was there before but I remember it not being very good. Then came  Pink Salt , which, in its first incarnation, was literally very pink indeed. Then not long ago they re-did it and turned it into a more al fresco, family friendly dining spot where you can sit and watch Double Bay go by. The menu is also more casual as well, with the focus on share plates.

Pink Salt in Double has relaunched and gone is the so doublebay it hurts fitout ( Pic here ). New pink salt is of age and what’s on trend; incandescent, a nice woody warm interior and forest green tiles. We check in for dinner, met Evan (“umm.. you look familiarish” – well we forgot but apparently he was on MyRestaurantRules ages ago). Pink Salt is a now a modern Brasserie styled restaurant and a handsome one to boot. A look at the menu. Price guide is reasonable and its an appealing selection of eats. Pink Salt is a triple layered space. There’s outdoor seating, an inner dining setup and then there’s a bar/booth/lounge area up top. The whole venue was packed out tonight. Duo of Entrees – Oysters with Shallots $4 each and Scallops with crackling were nice clean eats. Nice Sear on the Scallops. Blue Eyed Cod, Celeriac, Asparagus and Bacon Crumbs. Pork Belly , Savoy Cabbage, Carrot and Pear ($33, $29) Both mains were nicely presented and the crackling on that pork belly dish was really nice and crunchy with an juicy, melty pork. Both very nice mains and we quite liked both dishes. Apple Parfait, Pecan shortbread and Dulce De Leche and a Buttermilk Panacotta with strawberry sorbet. Desserts like the mains were similarly nice and well presented and well priced at $15. New Pink Salt was busy and packed when we visited and it’s clear that the reworked venue is appealing across a wider demographic now with its woodier, more rustic feel. We really enjoyed sitting in the al Fresco Area here with the breeze coming in. Gillian who who dined alongside had thrown a birthday do here (when we last visted) was quite impressed with how it is now. Service is friendly, engaged and attentive. Heard they did great cocktails and we’re gunning for a return visit. LINKS www. pinksalt .com.au/ Pink Salt Facebook

We were both really hoping the chef would send out the pork belly, and he does! HURRAH! Our luscious, fatty pork belly has a lovely crisp lid on it and is served with a side of savoy cabbage and grilled pear. The carrot mash really stands out in this dish, both in terms of its vibrant colour but also because of its sweet flavour and creamy texture... Pink Salt is a great spot to sit, eat, relax and watch the passing parade.

Very dissappointing. Had such high expectations but really amateur hour. Food arrived after a 45 min wait. Very average, harrissa carrots were almost raw, spannekopita seemed like it was heated up in a microwave, pastry was not crisp. Informed the restaurant prior that it was to celebrate a birthday. Was never mentioned by the staff or manager while we were there. All in all, this is a place that looks good but fails to deliver.
Shirleydundovic
Not impressed. Service was okay however share plates have a maximum of 3 on each plate which means if you are in a group of 4 you must order double. Food is just average and mains very small especially with the over top prices charged. We will never eat there again
Sarahhartley50
Great night. Thoroughly enjoyed our dinner! The food was great as was the atmosphere. We enjoyed the spatchcock, t-bone, sweet potato fries (which were mighty delicious) and broccolini. The service was great too. It was a relaxed but very stylish environment. Will definately be back and recommend

Terrible service - good food. A group of my friends and I went to Pink Salt on a Sunday afternoon and were quite shocked at how bad the service was. We never once had anyone come up to us and ask if we needed anything - it was 20 minutes before a waiter came near us and had to ask for napkins and cutlery when the food finally arrived. Cutlery was shoved in front of us by hand and the period between the entree and main was 40 minutes. The food was lovely but the frustration of the poor service and attitude from the waiters made the experience not enjoyable in the slightest. You would think at a nice restaurant they would invest in their people. Not good enough
Amanda Flanagan-Hansimikali
Fantastic!. Food was supburb. We had popcorn chicken, spinach and kale spanakopita and the lamb shoulder (which came with potatoes and carrots. Food portions were impressive and so reasonably priced! The service was excellent and the cocktails we chose were great (the black Amex and double bay drama). I was impressed with the wine list too. We sat outside and it was very relaxing! The music set a great vibe (jazz with some Rolling Stones and sixties music). Will definitely be back. Very impressed with this place!
