Review Sonder Cafe & Restaurant - Woollahra

I ordered the homemade ricotta hot cakes with a small takeaway cappuccino and my daughter had a sonder roll, which is fried eggs, bacon, hash brown, homemade onion jam cheese rocket on a milk bun and a summer 9 juice. The food was amazing. The coffee was amazing too. Highly recommend. Staff are nice and friendly. Will definitely be back.

Amazing is an understatement when it comes to the stunning, sophisticated and exquisite dishes from this venue. Just recently revamped, you can expect to see unique and magical dishes throughout the menu. With vibrant colours and next level plating, their insta-worthy dishes are worth checking out. There are several dining areas with beautiful decor throughout but my favourite is the outdoor area at the top level where the ambience is more relaxing and surrounded with greenery. I started with coffee and it was awesome (from Campos). Every dish I tried was delightful but my favourite has to be the Minaj Assets (cream cheese fruit toast), Reuben Hood (ruben burger), Angry Bird (portuguese grilled chicken burger) and Banh Mi If You Can (blue swimmer crab banh mi sandwich). Tips: Some of their dishes are generously portioned and can easily be shared with a friend. Highly recommend.

I had previously left an average review for Sonder, it appears they hav been under new management for a while now, with a refreshed menu and wonderful staff. During COVID these guys set up a really easy and safe method for takeaway coffee and food that set the example for the area. Staff always great with a smile, the coffee is outstanding and they put a great deal of effort into delivering quality food.

Great brunch experience. We thoroughly enjoyed the food and coffee here. I got Spaghetti bolognese. Highly Recommend! Staff are nice and friendly. One of my favourite places in sydney to enjoy a good brunch.

The place has a new chef. DONT COME HERE poor quality food average service. Gone for one of the best to one of the worst cafes in paddington. nothing special or joyful about this place. Came here early on a Monday morning and was greeted by friendly staff. Great place to people watch and enjoy a well made coffee. I had their spiced corn fritters with tallegio omelette and spicy salsa. Very well cooked and seasoned fritters and overall great value for money. Highly recommended.

Avocado Smash from the brekky menu was too good to be true! Added mushrooms on the side and they seemed to be soaked with a savoury taste, they were to die for! Loved every bite. Staff were laid back and caring as well :)

Wonderfully different with tardis like rooms keeps going to a beautifully comfortable courtyard out the back ..a room to suit everyone.. love the chef!!! Awesome dude.. ;)

This cafe is absolute magic!!! I was absolutely stunned and amazed at the presentation of their food. A MUST TRY for sure in Paddington! From the exterior this cafe seemed small, however its interior is very big and they have a gorgeous yard in the back with a wonderful green wall perfect for photos. Also, the seating is comfortable and the atmosphere is local. Definitely a cafe with a huge aspect of creativity in both their dishes and the names. Especially the decorations that they place in all of their classic dishes or specialty items. Their french toast is surely a show stopper and tastes just as good as it looks!!! Their staff are friendly and even the chef is such a kind and wonderful person who contacted me on IG. 100% worth that long drive there! Corn Fritters and the Haloumi stack were absolutely masterpieces and taste amazing, lovely place with great vibe, cute courtyard and the staff are absolutely lovely .. highly recommended

A truly hidden gem in Paddington! The chef puts so much details and effort into every dish, they’re basically masterpieces. Their dishes are also so creative and unique, like the French toast inside a pineapple and the eggs benny inside avocados. <br/>My personal favourite was the wagyu beef burger as the beef was so juicy and tender, it basically melted in your mouth!

When I was a child, it was my dream to win a Golden Ticket to a Willy Wonka factory and have a tour of the most magical place on earth, and leave with a lifetime supply of chocolate. The lifetime supply of chocolate is out of my reach now, but it doesn&rsquo;t mean I have to stop chasing that magic at Sonder...

⭐️New change in management and amazing new menu! ⭐️<br/><br/>If you want a creative Sydney café where the head chef takes creativity to another level, Sonder Sydney in Paddington is definitely worth a visit. <br/><br/>Tucked away in one of the laneways of Paddington, the cosy looking café may look small, but if you walk on inside, you will discover this gorgeous open air outside terrace garden, decked out with a luscious green wall. Imagine the magical land of Willy Wonka combined with a scene from the Mad Hatters Tea Party, there is a lot of attention to detail towards this carefully curated menu by chef Marcello. And the service from the staff is five star, they really make you feel at home.<br/><br/>We tried the following creations: <br/>'Wiggle Wiggle Wiggle' - panna cotta granola. The prettiest granola bowl (and largest) I've every eaten.<br/>'Lalan Eats & Sweet Jaybee' - Belgium waffles. Waffles don't get more OTT than these ones! <br/>'Love Bite' - heart velvet hotcakes with 24K gold leaf and dulche le leche. The hotcakes were super fluffy, loved the dulche le leche sauce.<br/>'Forgive My French!' - French toast brulee. I can now only eat French toast served inside a pineapple! The beautiful vanilla syrup and brulee gets soaked up by the gorgeous French toast, this dish was one of my faves.<br/>'Benny Colada' - avo eggs benedict. This dish is pure genius, eggs benny served on an avocado. Perfect for those on a keto diet. Plus, loved the juicy lamb sausage! <br/>'Once you go dark you cant go' - black truffle crab linguine. The pure pleasure of black truffle, you get that lovely truffle-ly whiff as soon as the dish is almost brought to the table.<br/>'Banh Mi if you can' - blue swimmer crab banh mi sandwich. The crab was super sweet and succulent, and very generous in serving size. Plus, the chips come in this amazing chilli majo sauce.<br/>'Mexican Dona Meets Mr Kimchi' - tacos with fried egg, avocado and kimchi. One of my faves! I've never had fried egg or kimchi on a taco. Plus, the taco is named after one of my dear foodie friends.<br/>'LMFAO' - hemp falafel burger. The perfect veggie burger.<br/><br/>I loved all of the dishes, each dish brought out raised the bar higher and higher in terms of creativity and flavours.<br/><br/>A massive thank you to Chef Marcello for your hospitality and creative menu delights and your staff, Leina, Serena, Kay and Andy for looking after us. Heads up !! This place just reopened 2 weeks ago with new management and an incredible menu!<br/>I was lucky to try a lot of the items in it so I can tell you first hand that they’re amazing.<br/>Hands down some of the most creative dishes you’ll see in Sydney. <br/>Not only that, some of them of course are indulgent and super fun but some other are really healthy and would fit into any keto diet (like the eggs Benedict on avocado instead of bread).<br/>It’s a place with a courtyard so don’t be fooled by the small cute front , there’s plenty of space in the back. <br/>Just look at the photos here and you’ll see what I’m talking about when I say that this place is special. <br/>I saw a lot of customers whose eyes were wide open when their orders came to the table. If I could describe these , I would say magical :) they even have unicorn lattes !<br/>Flavour is great and service is amazing! I know the members of the staff now and they were adorable with every customer. <br/>I love this place ! I’ll come back again and again :) their menu options are so varied and the names are super funny too.<br/>My personal favourite of course would be “Dona meets Mr. Kimchi” 2 delicious original tacos for breakfast! <br/>Try this place for yourselves , you’ll be pleasantly amazed :) <br/><br/>

They just renovated the shop. Very cosy. The staff are nice and friendly. Ordered few dishes to share. Coffee and Food is good. Will come more often.

I’ve been buying coffee at Sonder every morning without fail for over a year. Sadly it’s all gone a bit down hill. The staff used to be amazing but they’ve all gone and now the staff are slow, sullen and obnoxious... and you’ve changed your coffee. The only redeeming feature is the food but you’ve lost my custom. Won’t even split a bill down the middle for two people and get rude when you ask.

I asked for two pieces of toast with a side of avo and feta as I didn’t want the extras that came with the smashed avo (2 eggs, fennel, etc). I received 1 piece of toast and was charged $18.

Based on the reviews we had high hopes for a great breakfast. The coffees came out fast and were quite good but could have been hotter. The poached eggs with bacon looked a bit mean on the plate due to the small serve size (one piece of toast), without any condiments or a garnish.

I must drive past Sonder at least three times a week, and the tables outside are always full. So, finally, I stopped. The coffee and banana bread were exceptional. Enough so that I plan to return and eat more of their menu

You may not be aware there is a cute yet large courtyard area out the back to relax and enjoy the sunshine. The coffee is nice and the menu is large enough the please the sweet and savoury in us all. The granola with poached pear is heaven and will fill you to the brim. Very enjoyable experience.

Had brunch there this morning - great service and delicious food. Spicy corn fritters, juice and coffee were worth coming back for. Would come here again!

We go there for dinner and so satisfied with the food, the risotto is so good i really recommended that one and the salad also. I didnt really like it eat salad but the salad is so good so delicious.

What a fantastic little cafe! I've now been for both breakfast and lunch and have not been disappointed. The beef burger is a must try!!

Great little cafe in an awesome location. Its only new but we've already been back on multiple occasions. Tried many dishes from the breakfast and lunch menus and have never been disappointed. The biggest dark horse though is their amazing beer menu, a great selection of craft beers to choose from. I can't think of a better way to spend an afternoon than kicking back and enjoying a cracking meal and frothy beverage in the sunny Sonder courtyard. Perfection👌🏻

I went for dinner at Sonder. Great food and atmosphere in the back courtyard. Definitely try the peanut butter and chocolate brownie!! I will be back again soon. 😊

Exactly what Five Ways Paddington needed! a cool, trendy and fun cafe with lots of seating options. Food is exceptional and easily the best in the area. Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner. Licensed!

We decided to try it for breakfast. It has been opened only for 3 weeks. <br/>Very nice staff. We both had the smashed avocado with poached eggs from the menu. <br/>It was very nice. <br/>My soy coffee was just perfect; smooth and excellent temperature. <br/>I will definitely come back and try other items from the menu.

Just had dinner at this new place. wow! exactly what the area needs! Food is really fresh and exciting, and not over priced. Courtyard out the back was the best, could have stayed out there all night.
