The food is one of the best Greek foods I have had in a while. Really good service and very busy but able to keep up with the requests. The platter is great, fresh and tasty. Service very friendly and exceptional. Access to the restaurant is via Prospect Road and plenty of street parking. Comfortable place to visit. Thanks for the experience 👌

I can honestly say this is one of the best Greek restaurants, outside of Greece, that I have ever been to. Growing up with my Greek mum who was an amazing cook, I tend to avoid Greek restaurants because it never compares. Mezi Mazi is different: from the calamari to the lamb shoulder and the salad, everything was amazing. I treat is the fried chicken liver and pork belly: both perfectly cooked and made me want to jump the next plane to Athens! A must do experience!

We had dinner at Mezi Mazi before going to the movies at Palace Nova and were very pleased with our choice. First of all we had a really hard time choosing from the menu because everything looked so good. We decided to work our way through some entrees and see how we went. We really didn't get off the entree menu because everything was delicious. Quick service, friendly and professional staff and great food.

Always wanted to go here and finally had the chance and it didn't disappoint. Made it a date night, went to the cinema first and rounded it off with a wonderful dinner at Meze Mazi. Food was delish, with friendly service. They were super busy, fully booked and had a little wait for the food. To be expected. However the wait was a distant memory as we enjoyed all our chosen dishes. Loved the Pork belly...nice charcoal flavour...yum! And the Orange cake was soooo good. We'll be back for more!

One of the best dining experiences I've had in some time. 10 people and certainly catered for us and the many others in the restaurant with ease. Loads of staff on hand to make our dining experience a great one. I would have loved to have seen the kitchen in full gear as they served so many people with ease it was a pleasure to watch.....not as pleasurable as the food..this was amazing. Great dining and I can't recommend this place highly enough. It was my first time but it will not be my last.

Last night I took my beloved parents to Meze Mazi.. Wow.. just wow! What a fantastic experience all around. The staff were brilliant from their great recommendations to cheerful and exuberant demeanor. The food was the best Greek food I've had in years. The Greek wines were perfect. The traditional "Greek Chocolate Pie" with a shot of frozen Ouzo was a dynamite ending to a totally fantastic dining experience. I would highly recommend Meze Mazi and I shall return.. for sure.

One thing Adelaide has is Greek restaurants but what Meze Mazi does a little different which i found enjoyable is the majority of dishes that are sharing. From the dips to the lamb cutlets to Greek sausages (Loukaniko) the keftedes are all served perfectly for sharing which makes a night to this establishment perfect for groups. Large range of beers and wines from Greece and that typical Greek warmth and hospitality that the waitress or waiter we dealt with showed to us. A fabulous find on Prospect Road. We called in late after a movie at the Palace Nova......the kitchen was closed, but the staff were very accommodating and offered freshly made dips, warm pitta bread and Greek salad with the best tasting fetta cheese I have tried in a while. Topped off with a lovely Mothers Milk Shiraz. A very authentic Greek restaurant, complete with a selection of Greek wine.....will try those next time �� A small venue, indoor and outdoor seating......very popular, and busy, so would definitely need to book. All staff were very friendly and helpful. Defintely a must to check out if you love Greek food and a great vibe. Thankyou for looking after us. We look forward to returning soon. �

Have been twice now, Our first time was amazing loved it. Second time I think they may have had a change in floor staff. They were not quite as aware or had the attention to detail as previous. Still good though and polite. I think the first time the owners were on hence the eye to details. The food was outstanding on both occasions.

Every moment of this dinner experience was perfect, simple, easy and enjoyable. To sum up all things awesome: the online booking tool, ‘your tables nearly ready’ text, being greeted and seated within seconds of walking in and having a good chat with our waiter about food and all the great things adelaide has to offer. I was more than impressed, as were my friends from Melbourne. The waiters were attentive, helpful with food suggestions for the vegan in out group, honest about potentially ordering too much and most importantly - serving 5/5 meals. Highly recommend ordering the Feta Filo - a delicious Greek starter, not many Greek restaurants have it on offer! We’ll be back, thank you :)

Went here with a mate before a movie, didn’t have much time and the restaurant was packed. The wait staff made room and squeezed us in. Very welcoming and great customer service is from the start! Ordered squid to start, marinated lamb cutlets and chicken skewers.... the food was exceptional, perfectly washed down with an ice cold mythos beer! Definitely recommend trying this Place out next time you are in the Prospect area!

Meze Mazi - Eat Together, oh Boy Did We Ever! My first visit was with a local, lovely Greek family who also happen to be friends of ours. A big thank you to the Apostolou family for being our magnificent hosts for the night. We're going to start with the dips. Nick and Mary ordered 3 dips, Skordalia (usually potato and garlic),Taramasalata (fish roe) and Melitzana (eggplant), each served with grilled pita bread. Skordalia is my favourite, as far as I am concerned, no such thing as too much garlic in Skordalia. We wandered in on a wet and stormy night to a warm and friendly atmosphere with great food and service. We chose a pork souvlakua and a slow cooked lamb shoulder and they mistakenly brought a chicken souvlakia instead. They quickly remedied their mistake and generously provided us a free dip and bread to munch on while we waited. Both mains (especially the lamb) were good and the greek salad was fantastic. Wine selection was also good and if you are into reds, give the Greek Syrah a try - I really enjoyed it. I would go again and I would recommend to friends.

I recently booked a mid week dinner for two. Upon arrival we were greeted and looked after by two friendly waiters. The service was prompt and efficient and the food.... Oh my! I must confess, Greek food doesn't usually float my boat however I've come to the conclusion that it is because I've obviously not had good Greek food here in Adelaide. We shared three small dishes, one main, one salad and one desert. The serve size was perfect, the food and flavours were fresh and you can tell that good quality ingredients have been used. It's No wonder this place was packed on a weeknight. We left very impressed and agreed that it was one of the best meals we've eaten out recently. Good find.

This is our local Greek restaurant & my husband & I LOVE it!!! It is ALWAYS busy so you need to book. The food is ALWAYS amazing! Their wine selection is top notch, the customer service is on the ball & the ambience is always great! The food is a bit more pricey than other places but it's GREAT food & totally worth it!!! We will most CERTAINLY be back!!!

At first the reception and the restaurant was a bit cold. We were asked if we had a reservation and the response when we said 'no', was a little terse. Anyway, we were accommodated and the evening went up from there. The waiter guided us through the menu and the portion sizes. The wine list was class with Rockford and First Drop on there. The food arrived in a short period of time (which I like) and was absolutely sensational. I am so happy to have discovered this fine Greek restaurant being so close to us. The restaurant ended up being packed. A great sign. I had the Slow Cooked Lamb Shoulder. It took me back 20 years to dining at my favourite Greek restaurant in Sydney - Perama. It reminded me of their Lamb Skaras which I couldn't get past on their menu. We will be back and perhaps make a reservation next time.

Dined on a Sunday night at 6.pm first in for the night, ordered dips for the table and several had starter, my pickled octapus looked like it was the dreggs of a purchased product, lots of suckers very little meaty tentacle to sink my teeth into, very disappointed ,dips also appeared to be bought in lacking any authenticity, when my main arrived Braised Lamb Shoulder & Roasted Potatoes, it didn't live up to what was promised, potatoes sliced into wedges and more like steamed than roasted, when i enquired about the roasted potatoes I was informed they were cooked in the oven with a lid on to stop them drying out, this defeats the whole method of roasting , and lack of any flavor, as for the Lamb this also seemed more steamed than braised and a bit tasteless & watery on the Internet Menu it stated it was served with szatizki, in the restaurant it was not on the menu, which is a shame as i had researched my choices before arriving only to be told it wasn't on the menu anymore. I wont be back!!!

Decided to go on a whim for an A&A date night. Were pleasantly surprised by this neat, simple eatery on prospect rd. Decided to try as many entrees instead of mains. The Saganaki was particularly good. Served hot and dressed with lemon & oregano; as it should be. Everything here is done with simplicity and without pretention. Service is casual and friendly and owner Andrew is a great conversationalist and his passion for authentic Greek food is evident here at Meze Mazi. The two Greek wines we had were value for money. Really enjoyed our evening at this simple Greek eatery.

This is a great spot. Clean and simple decor. Service was attentive despite the busy restaurant. Had the feta filo which was cheese wrapped in filo pastry drizzled with the amazing honey and sesame. Something that is really different but good. We also ordered the saganaki cheese and the must have grilled octopus with pickled onions. For mains which was also shared, we had the lamb shoulder which is tender and the potatoes which were braised in the sauce, it was soft and it is the perfect comfort food. Ordered the baby snapper with a side of salad which was a nice palate cleanser after the cheese . the baby snapper was grilled well and fresh. The loukomades with nutella was however not as crispy as I had hoped for and tried in other places. Regardless, would definitely return.

As well as having my first authentic Mexican food experience this year thanks to Mi Mero Mole, I think I can safely say I’ve also just had my first authentic Greek meal. After mentioning to my ‘authentic Greek friend’ my lack of exposure Greek food, she insisted she take me to her new favourite eatery Meze Mazi in Prospect. Meze means ‘taste’ or ‘small dishes’ and Mazi means ‘together’ and at Meze Mazi, owner Andreas Papdakis wants to foster the Greek tradition of sharing and enjoying meals with family and friends. Andreas describes his food as ‘traditional authentic Greek’ – the type you find at a typical taverna.

Went here with family. Got saganaki, zucchini, cypriot & greek salads, grilled octopus, and mixed grill. Everything was so good that we were so full (got 4 orders of the mixed grill for a group of 7)...and yet we ended up trying all the desserts to top it off! Can't go wrong with the drinks either. Definite must try. The lamb was grilled to perfection. Chicken & beef were melt-in-your-mouth tender, I wonder how they did it! Service was 👌, place was full but spacious enough and laid out well that we never had to overhear the talk over the surrounding tables. Lovely dinner ❤

Already not a fan of a two sitting system I was reluctant to continue the booking but curiosity got the better of me and in this case literally killed the cat! One of the most dumbfounding uncomfortable dining experiences I've come across in a while. Inexperienced service staff, disorganized, which had to be commanded attention on every occasion to get service and they obliged with an air of annoyance at that. However they were quick to try pick up plates and wine glasses and clear the table out ....whilst we were half way through eating and with full bottles of wine on table. Service 101 fail. The food was however served quite quickly after ordering but for a 'sharing' menu the portions/pricing certainly don't reflect the same concept - I'd have problems sharing any of their mains with myself let alone with others. Not to mention the 'Meze' which are literally half of a half portion anyone would expect. Everything was overly salty so in between the gallons of water required it was really hard to distinguish or taste any flavours. A traditional staple the moussaka was certainly a strange one the 'bechamel' was more like a bread and butter pudding texture an inch thick on top and seemed like gelatine/excessive cornflour was used to set it/thicken in hence the 'bready appearance'. The other classic loukoumades - supposed to be light fluffy golden balls soaked in a delicious honey syrup were heavy oil drenched undercooked anemic dumplings. Their wine list probably the only thing which was positive, a tight but well selected range quite a few south Aussies too which is great to see. Expensive for what you get and I would not try going there with more than 4 people.

I (Nathan) was blown away the first time I visited Meze-Mazi, so much so that I began raving about Meze-Mazi to everyone. Including Instagram and to other OTCB members, which resulted in Amanda's visit. Soon enough, it was time for me to have a revisit. This time, it was a Saturday lunch for a birthday. At lunch there is a slightly smaller menu, but all the key dishes are there. I decided to try a few different meals this time, and with a much larger group (13 including 4 kids), this was a little easier.

Pleasantly surprised! Unlike a lot of other Greek places in Adelaide (most of which I love), Meze-Mazi don't go absolutely crazy with their portion sizes. They focus on good quality food. But don't fear, you will certainly not walk away hungry. We came here on a busy Saturday evening. With every table taken, the waiting staff were a tad scattered. For example, we had to ask for water a few times because they just kept on forgetting it. Still, when you got their attention, they were super friendly. We started with Saganaki and followed with Lamb Shoulder, Meat Mousaka and Cypriot Salad. All were absolutely mouthwatering! We were very full after this but have heard many good things about Loukumades with Nutella, so we just had to try them. And as expected, they lived up to the hype. YUM! Can't wait to come back again!

I went here a little while ago and we did not have the same experience as the other diners and reviewers. We went for lunch but we should have gone for dinner as the evening menu is larger and has better options. We had a few dishes to share which were just okay. Dips seems to be lacking in flavour, skordalia needed a lot more garlic, don't be afraid to use it! Meatballs were nice and Saganaki prawns had exactly the same tomato sauce and couldn't really taste the ouzo. Had to ask for more fetta to be put on top of prawns, even though I would have preferred actual Saganaki cheese in this dish. There is one pet dislike of mine when dining anywhere and that is when the owner/s have their laptops out, papers all over the dining table, talking uber loud on the phone whilst you are trying to have a reasonably quiet lunch. I may return for dinner, but this wasn't one of those memorable times.

This time we ordered a different kind food than usual we had at other greek resto. We heard this place from some relative who said that this place offer an authentic traditional greek food. We started with saganaki kef, zucchini keftedes and spanakopita. Food portion for all of them just enogh, not too much. For main we had vegie mousaka, lamb shoulder and gemista also greek salad. All came good and doesn't make your belly full on. Definitely would come back here. Ohh I forgot one thing, I like the ice frappe, very nice coffee..and loukumades desert so awesome.

Our next monthly dinner took us to a newly opened Greek Restaurant - Meze Mazi at 86b Prospect Rd, Prospect. Having a few Greek Tempting Palates members in the group, it was always going to be a hard sell to impress them. They all think their Mamma and Yiayia make the best Greek food!. Meze Mazi gives you the vibe of a taverna but the class of a restaurant. With cute little wooden tables and raffia stringed chairs it oozes the charm of a traditional Greek Eatery for modern times. Charming and friendly with the warmth of Greek hospitality.

Went to Meze Mazi on Wednesday for dinner with my best friend. She had never been there before and she was left speechless. Exceptional food, great friendly service and incredible flavours! I had the VegMousaka (Best veg mousaka ever) and my friend had the lamb shoulder. We also shared a few entrees and were so satisfied. Definitely my favourite restaurant in Adelaide! Staff is also great and friendly. Gus' Gastro Review

I almost feel uncomfortable, conflicted and contradicted. The Babanusa closed down and Meze-Mazi opened while the corpse was still warm. This is a healthy sign that culinary excellence will build within the area. A perfect start so to speak - this place has barely been empty since opening. I'm a pseudo local, pseudo critic, pseudo cook but I'm allowed to be - it's my duty as a keyboard warrior, with fearsome wit and character. I'm not sold on Greek food yet. Like Mexican I see it as the same thing just wrapped differently, occasionally with chill sauce and tabouli, now we're talking. I don't know what to expect. You go to Taverna on Hawker St. and you're fed at least three entire animals per course. I was a little presumptuous to believe Meze-Mazi would condone such ineffective cost management when people aren't aware of the serving size and order a 3 course farm... In contrary, there's no such issue. However, this would be good to know. A 92 second walk to the restaurant from my pseudo home and we were there. It pays to be a pseudlocal. After perched like lost souls for an eternity, we were eventually greeted and called to our table from the other side of the Cirque Du Soleil within a room. Rock concerts are comparatively serene compared to this place. Seated first table from the bar. Three other tables were seated at the same time as us, yet we waited until they had received dips, entrees and one main before we even had a look in at ordering. I cannot help but feel as though some preferential treatment was bestowed upon these fortunate diners. I could visibly see themselves becoming more and more satisfied with their dining experience as the life was being sucked out of ours. We were eventually served but by this stage there was a lot to make up for. We ordered an entree sized prawn, meatballs, zucchini patties and a main moussaka. The idea is to share, as per the menu and the apparent ethos of the restaurant, although I received confused looks from my compatriots and the waitress when the order was taken. Hindsight is a pain in the butt, because at least here - entrees are exactly that, ordered in conjunction with a main. Somewhere like Taverna, an entree is good for a family of 7. I didn't have the patience to clarify serving sizes, I just wanted food by this stage. Entrees took an eternity, once polished off, we were asked if we wanted the next course.. I'm sorry but after waiting nearly an hour for 'un-wrap and serve' dips I think they could have guessed our level of appetite. Better luck next time Meze. If the weather is nice, I'll sit outside. The ringing in my ears took a few hours to settle, it really is very loud in there during peak time so I suggest earplugs or an early/late sitting. I'll come back, soon hopefully - there's potential here.

I Only Eat Desserts

Meze-Mazi came on my radar when I saw photos of their loukoumades on Instagram. Sadly they only serve these for dinner and I had come during lunch time. My sad face didn’t last long as dish after dish of amazing Greek food started appearing on our table. The first to come was the Saganaki Kefalograviera which was a giant slice of pan-fried cheese that was chewy with a slight sour punch from the lemon squeezed over it. C doesn’t like soft cheeses so this was up his ball park and he had one of the biggest smiles on his face. Eat this quick while it’s still hot as it does harden up and you lose that gooey softness once it’s cooling down.

Woks Next

The food was incredible and amazing flavours BUT, the prices for the size of the dishes.....not so amazing! The dips come in a tiny dish (the same size dish that soya sauce & chilli come in in chinese restaurants). I like the food, flavours are great and service impeccable but I think they need to offer bigger sizes or reduce prices. The meat balls again were great but $15 for 4 small meatballs, too overpriced.

As someone who visits restaurants soon after they open, I must admit, I was a bit slow on this one. Reliable sources had told me there was this amazing restaurant called Meze Mazi which serves the most authentic Greek food in Adelaide. Literally translated “Meze” means lots of small dishes and “Mazi” means together. Eating lots of small dishes together with other people is how Greek food should be enjoyed.

The area around Prospect road is in the middle of a revamp, which has led to a bit of a food renaissance. A few different restaurants have popped up lately, but none more popular and enticing than Meze-Mazi. Meze-Mazi is a Greek eatery that aims to reflect the raw nature of Greece. In doing this, Meze-Mazi has brought to Adelaide what it's been missing for a long time - an authentic Greek eatery that concentrates on getting the food and flavours spot on.

We were cruising the streets of Prospect the other day when we spotted a ‘corner-shop’ kinda spot that was totally going off. When I discovered it was a new Greek joint by the name of Meze Mazi, I knew I was going to get there on the ASAP (because nothing gets this girl moving like the offer of fried cheese.)

Tempting Palates

Our next monthly dinner took us to a newly opened Greek Restaurant - Meze Mazi at 86b Prospect Rd, Prospect. Having a few Greek Tempting Palates members in the group, it was always going to be a hard sell to impress them. They all think their Mamma and Yiayia make the best Greek food! .

Extremely happy with this new restaurant on prospect road. Parking was easy, the staff were very friendly however the best part about the place was the food. THE BEST moussaka i have ever had. this place has revolutionised greek food, they took old boring meals and put a modern twist. fantastic 9.5/10

A pleasant place to spend an evening. Friend and I had dinner on a Tuesday. Sitting outside was a smart choice as inside was packed, and noise level was a bit high for our liking. Ordered dips and meze. Service was slowish (to be expected when busy, but always friendly and helpful. Wine list looks interesting, Food was of varying quality. Hot pita and dips was an excellent starter. Tzatziki was pleasant, tarama was average, but the standout was the melitzanosalata, with wonderful smoky flavours and perfect seasoning. Calamari was perfectly cooked, but a small serve for the price. Haloumi was similar, but had wonderful chargrill flavours (not the briquette type chargrill, this one tasted like real wood coals were used). The chargrill octopus was likewise a brilliant dish, the large tentacle that we were served was beaten until tender, marinated in oil, oregano and a touch of lemon, and had the smoky chargrill character. Highly recommended for quality, but wow there's a hell of a markup on a single tentacle. Paying around $17 for it sided by a garnish salad, this place is certainly making their money. Imam was also fantastic quality, with sweet roasted eggplant flavour and salty, crumbly fetta baked into a fantastic dish. If it wasn't for the $15 price tag, I would have ordered another serve of this. The disappointment of the night was the spanakopita. I can appreciate that it was made from scratch, yet the homemade filo was more akin to a heavier puff pastry and the salty, fresh spinach flavour was missing altogether. As someone who looks forward to spanakopita, this was a disappointment and only a step above the spinach and cheese triangles that you can buy frozen in the supermarket. Almost unheard of for me, I didn't finish the spanakopita and ordered dessert. Desserts were simple but tasty. Loukoumades were served piping hot, with a delicious honey and cinnamon syrup and Ekmek was of fantastic quality for depth of flavour and perfect, creamy texture. Although both simple dishes, among the better Greek desserts that I have tried. I will rate this place at 4* as the food was mostly of very good quality, and the service was friendly but sparse as they were understaffed for the amount of trade they were doing. For five stars, larger meze portions and please, please fix the spanakopita. If I ever get a Monday or Tuesday craving for Greek when Taverna and Kefi are closed, I will be back to visit.

Had a selection of shared plates which were well presented and absolutely delicious and flavoursome. The staff were welcoming, friendly and attentive. It’s great to have a new restaurant with the quality and authenticity of this open up on Prospect Road, and glad to see that it’s doing so well in its first week of opening. Highly recommend trying it, will definitely be back.
