We tried a variety of small dishes plus the soupless ramen. All were seasoned perfectly and so delicious. A good place to go on O'Connell Street - great atmosphere. Friendly staff.
Went here a few months ago and realised I hadn’t done the review yet! So, here goes!
We arrived exactly on 6pm as I was pretty excited to try this place! We were seated at the bar in true Japanese style, I love that! It’s a pretty nice place.
I was totes looking forward to the Tonkotsu soup only to be told they had none! Sad face… Well, I had come here specially to try that particular Ramen, as this dish had been raved about by others.
Chose another soup, which was very average and missing the depth I was looking for on my buds!
We also asked for the Tako Age as my foodie mate loves octopus and yes, only to be told, they were out of that as well. As I listened stealthily to other guests ordering, there were many items missing off the menu, so quite a few gasps around the room! I hope this has now been rectified!
Had some skewers, which were nice, but I am still looking to find the perfect chicken skin skewer in Adelaide, no one has come close to the one I had in Tokyo! So my skin search continues!
Would probably return to try again and hopefully the Tonkotsu soup is waiting for me!
Alerting all Japanese food lovers: handmade ramen noodles!
Came here for a quiet lunch and was pleasantly surprised at how damn good the food was. The handmade noodles were cooked perfectly. The broth was delicate with a great flavour. Definitely worlds apart from the overly salty broth available at other chains around town. Not to mention the marinated egg. I’m drooling just remembering the flavour of the soft, barely cooked yolk oozing all over my pork tonkatsu ramen.
Tuno’s ramen tastes like your mum’s food, authentic and delicious.
