We tried a variety of small dishes plus the soupless ramen. All were seasoned perfectly and so delicious. A good place to go on O'Connell Street - great atmosphere. Friendly staff.

Went here a few months ago and realised I hadn’t done the review yet! So, here goes!

We arrived exactly on 6pm as I was pretty excited to try this place! We were seated at the bar in true Japanese style, I love that! It’s a pretty nice place.

I was totes looking forward to the Tonkotsu soup only to be told they had none! Sad face… Well, I had come here specially to try that particular Ramen, as this dish had been raved about by others.

Chose another soup, which was very average and missing the depth I was looking for on my buds!

We also asked for the Tako Age as my foodie mate loves octopus and yes, only to be told, they were out of that as well. As I listened stealthily to other guests ordering, there were many items missing off the menu, so quite a few gasps around the room! I hope this has now been rectified!

Had some skewers, which were nice, but I am still looking to find the perfect chicken skin skewer in Adelaide, no one has come close to the one I had in Tokyo! So my skin search continues!

Would probably return to try again and hopefully the Tonkotsu soup is waiting for me!

Alerting all Japanese food lovers: handmade ramen noodles!

Came here for a quiet lunch and was pleasantly surprised at how damn good the food was. The handmade noodles were cooked perfectly. The broth was delicate with a great flavour. Definitely worlds apart from the overly salty broth available at other chains around town. Not to mention the marinated egg. I’m drooling just remembering the flavour of the soft, barely cooked yolk oozing all over my pork tonkatsu ramen.

Tuno’s ramen tastes like your mum’s food, authentic and delicious.

Recommended by a friend who has been living here for a long time. Tried the soupless ramen which was pretty good. The texture of the ramen al dente and was just right.

We dined at the bar, where we were facing the grill. Personally, being able to see how my food was prepared elevates the experience. Staffs were friendly too.

Will return again to try their tonkotsu soon!

Loved the Spicy Miso Ramen! We also had the Pork Ramen and Kaarage Chicken. All fantastic too. Thanks for bringing Adelaide another great option for ramen.

I now love Ramen. I didn't even know what ramen was before entering Tuno' s well hung door. My bowl was filled with the perfect amount of chicken broth, slow cooked pork, halved egg, spring onion, a sheet of seaweed, and fresh, soft noodles. There was a glistening shimmer of fat bubbling over the surface that coated your mouth with silk. And the flavors... they were present and balanced.
Get around some warm sake on a cold day.
And be prepared to bow to your sensei as you enter under the Tuno flags (I'm sure they represent Japanese culture somehow.. forgive my ignorance).
I'll be back here in a heart beat.

Best ramen in Adelaide? I think so!
Bucketloads of taste but yet not too overwhelmingly salty! Highly recommended and will definitely return.

Rumours of a new ramen and yakitori bar in Adelaide, had us making a reservation as quickly as we could.  One cold winter's Saturday night, we rugged up and entered the intimate venue to warm up with some Japanese favourites.  With low lying bar seating overlooking the yakitori and robatayaki grill, which took up most of the space in the room, our group of 3 were escorted towards one of the few standard tables at the back of the room.  We were handed menus, our glasses filled with water and 3 individual dishes placed in front of us with a complimentary starter, an amuse bouche if you please... you will have to visit to find out what is served as the surprise element is all part of the fun!  It's these thoughtful touches that make you settle in comfortably and get the tastebuds excited for more.

Fantastic and authentic Izakaya. Menu isn't very large, especially types of Ramen (mostly all Pork Ramen dishes) but what is on the menu is fantastic.
Also some hard to find Japanese beers to choose from.

This place has to serve one of my favourite ramens in Adelaide. The broth is just right - i often find the ramen broth too heavy and get sick of eating it. The only downside was that they forgot my order and I had to wait another 10 minutes for my food while my boyfriend ate. Staff were pleasant and restaurant wasn't too noisy. Definitely need to book, it is a tiny place!

This is not your typical Japanese restaurant - it's SO much better! The Ramen is amazing - rich and flavourful. The ala carte items are prepared fresh -within view if you choose to sit at the bar (recommended for couples and a small group of four). Beautiful, fresh, authentic - love it.

I found everything to be quite overpriced. Ramen tasted great, but I was expecting to get more than one piece of meat for the price. I don’t recommend the small dishes here, so I would only come for ramen. The fried chicken wings were over-cooked and there were only 4 for a whopping $11.

Was pretty disappointed with the ramen. It was under seasoned and overpriced. The fried squid however was amazing. I don't think I'd come back just for the ramen, but would definitely come back for the other dishes.

The best ramen and yakitori in Adelaide and holds its own against the great ramen shops interstate. Can always appreciate the continual improvement, attention to detail in their ingredients and dishes. My go to for ramen for years.

We tried the spicy miso, tonkatsu, black garlic tonkatsu, salmon skewers, karaage. All of them were good no complaints at all. Will definitely be back

Ramen could of been firmer (preference) but broth was really smooth and creamy, very tasty. Salmon worked quite well in the spicy miso. Karrage was the best I've had in Adelaide. Juicy, lightly battered, crispy 👍 Gyoza could of had less pork but were tasty. Will be coming back for the Tonkotsu 🥢
