The yummiest ice cream I have ever had. Good old fashioned homemade ice cream and sorbet. Great service too.
This is the only place we get ice cream now.. Best place that sells fresh house made stuff and it'always changing up it's flavours!

QUADRUPLE WOW EVERYONE! This has been the first and only gelato place I’ve been to so far that actually have full flavour in their gelato. I mean serious flavour and non of that artificial stuff but the good quality natural stuff. It was truly incredible to try. Seriously good quality, creamy gelato that is worth every calorie.
This is gelato to die for - just love the inventive flavours. Recently tried Turkish Delight with Pistachio sooo YUM. I’ve been eyeing off the icecream cakes as well, I think my partner may just get one for his next birthday. We love this gelato so much we often even take a take-home tray to have later. Based on all natural ingredients, the gelati at Il Piccolo Gelato is made daily from fresh milk with no artificial colours or flavours. There are over 100 flavours in Il Piccolo’s repertoire, with around two dozen on the menu at any time, including non-dairy options. Central location, friendly service, generous serves and some of the best gelati we have eaten this year. A must for Ballarat visitors!
Pistachio flavoured gelato is a must try ! Some actual bits of pistachios in there too. The flavour is better than the ones I’ve tried in Melbourne. Friendly staff with a good sense of humour. Highly recommended.
Their Sicilian Pistachio is now the benchmark fo all others in Australia, bellissimo! The proprietor Anthony will also happily discuss the good and the bad of gelato. I learned a lot about my favourite frozen treat! Wonderful visit. And if you are just visiting the area - make sure to go see the Giant Sequoias trees in the Botanical Garden
Absolutely love this little ice cream store. How lucky we are! I have a friend who used to work here and he absolutely loved it and loved the owner. The ice cream is homemade and compared to the alternative in town (franchise store) this is SO amazing, eclectic and divine! The young staff are always lovely and helpful. Best place in town for a treat!

The gelatos are so yummy. Great friendly staff! Lots of flavours available. We tried the mango qand pineapple sorbet, salted caramel, choc brownies and passionfruit & raspberries. All delicious!
No coffee. Ice cream good quality, a little light on flavour. Good value as far as serving size goes, the difference between 3 stars and 4.

It was a wet, somewhat cold day but my partner wanted to try the gelato. So she bought dual flavours and let me taste some. Immediately, I had to buy one for myself. The gelato was creamy, a beautiful texture and amazing flavours. Mine was rum'n'raisin - the only flavor I ever get - and the one from Il Piccolo Gelato has been the best. Well worth the price, (it was an average price for gelato). Staff were lovely, helpful and friendly.
Cute little gelataria next to town hall. A lccal at Ballarat farmer markets recommended this place was definitely worth a visit. The flavours were unique and super delicious. Pineapple and strawberry sorbet and Turkish delish gelato were our faves. Liked by both kids and adults.
