Mr. Giraffe Coffee

The most striking thing about Mr Giraffe is his incredibly endearing setting.

The title of this humble cafe is echoed immediately upon entering via glass sliding door, when you are greeted with towering paintings of graceful, glossy-eyed giraffes.

The staff were polite and inviting of their several customers who seemed to occasion the Giraffe often, as they seemed to know everyone who walked through the door.

There are a good number of choices from the simple cabinet food and more complex and interesting menu items. The coffee was nicely presented with care.

The singular pink rose on each table was a delight to the eye.

I particularly enjoyed their sturdy, heavy metal chairs with those cushions you tie on to the back. I do tire of the rustic trappings of inner city suburb cafes & pubs closer to my home. Sometimes you just want to enjoy a coffee and read the paper in a relaxed environment out, without worrying you'll get splinters from stools and tables made of old pallets and rusty nails.

Cafes that give you a taste of home are fast becoming a rarity. This place is not about food worship and Instagram worthy decor. It's a miniature community hub for people to socialise and enjoy each other's company.

My only critique is they served my cheese and tomato toastie with margarine on the side. Margarine belongs in the 90s and toasties must be buttered on the outside, not inside after toasting. But even so - it's an earnest attempt at providing a health conscious option which I can't fully fault. Along with the pink roses, this shows the detail of thought that belies this wonderfully simple cafe.

Great coffee and friendly staff! Cafe was a bit hard to find because of the tree in the front but worth finding. Coffee was made well, nice and rich. Would come back again

The best cafe in the area! Amazing staff and atmosphere with genuinely fantastic coffee (even with soy) and dog friendly outdoor areas. Every food item is well prepared and well portioned, beautiful cafe with lots of heart!

Beautiful little cafe with comfortable seating and lovely cosy interior. Beautiful coffee and personable service. Absolute must for unpassable value deals (at least now) on sweet/savoury plus coffee. All sourced in-house or from very reputable bakeries. Already went twice today for a coffee... and then a coffee and walnut brownie deal! Banger! Hoping standard is kept high :)
