This is a funky and creative bar in the Gabba. It’s usually packed on weekends and does well with a group. The food is average but the cocktails and wine list are excellent. The staff are friendly and attentive 😊
Came in on a week night for a birthday dinner. It's moody lighting and nostalgic, vintage charm set the mood for a interesting food experience. The dishes on the dinner menu each had an atypical twist and the price tag to match.
First was a perfect pate along with simple bread and tangy chutney.
I had tuna, which was a little over-seared for my personal liking (I very much enjoy sashimi) but still very good. A nicely portioned serve of tuna too.
The duck had a nicely balanced set of flavors.
Dessert was really, really good... coming from someone who usually doesn't bother with sweets.
Service was great and enjoyed a rose or three.
The price tag wasn't too hefty for what felt like an upmarket eating experience. Would definitely try if u like to have different eating experiences.
This place is great. Saturday afternoon drink specials and a tops atmosphere. Had a cheese platter which was delicious with a mixture of nuts and a fruit paste. Super lovely.
The staff are super friendly, the food is great, the drinks are fantastic and Jack Rabbits upstairs has a great vibe for hanging out after dinner.
One of the coolest places to chill and feast on tasty burgers in the 'gabba. Massive thumbs up for friendly service, excellent food and a comprehensive drinks menu. A great place for drinks and eats after work or anytime.

Surperb fit out (and I had spent alot of time in its previous life as the crosstown 😭, so I was nostalgic and somewhat reticent before entering) but was nicely surprised with a great menu and drinks (upstairs bar is also in fine form) ....all in all memorable meal... And that's really all we ask for isn't it? Something where you wouldn't say, oh you know i can cook better than this at home and I humbly espouse that in most cases,
I do 😂... But not this time.
An excellent venue, with friendly and knowledgeable staff. There always seems to be something new to try be it a beer downstairs or an excellent whisky picked with the help of the amazing bartenders, well deserving of their accolades. Tip for the newcomer, join the whisky club.
Another hidden gem in Woolloongabba worth discovering. I came for a few pre drinks and was really keen on checking out their hidden whiskey bar but it was closed for a private whiskey tasting. We ended up sitting next to the bar in an area decorated like an old toy store. Very cool concept! Love the atmosphere and all the different areas you can sit at. Very cozy atmosphere and friendly staff. The beers and champagne we ordered were nice and not too pricey.
Have been to Electric avenue a few times and been impressed each time. Friendly bar and wait staff, a good selection of craft beers and an all around great vibe. Can recommend the duck.
I've eaten here on three separate occasions and their flavoursome food will see me back for a fourth and fifth and sixth! The staff go out of their way to ensure you feel comfortable and relaxed for the best dining experience. They have a wide selection of beverages that will ensure every whistle is wet. To finish the night off, I highly recommend heading upstairs for a nightcap. Just make sure you follow the rabbit..
Had an enjoyable dinner here in the lovely old school decor look and feel of the place.
The medium plate sized meals are perfect sizes which allows you to try an extra dish or two without getting too full. All in all, excellent meal and definately worth checking out again in future.
Had my 60th Birthday in the speakeasy bar recently and cant speak highly enough about the venue and ambience, the food and the staff. The vibe is amazing and would recommend this for a fun night out. The menu was and beverage list were comprehensive and inclusive. I want to celebrate my birthday here every year. Thanks Dan, James and Susanna for all your help in making this a really memorable birthday.
FANTASTIC!! Mrs J Rabbit's was the perfect venue for our sons 21st Birthday celebration. All the staff from the planning stage through to the event were so incredibly friendly and helpful as we were organising the event remotely. The food was delicious and the venue was loved by all. The perfect hidden gem in the speakeasy style. Thank you all at Canvas for making this special event an amazing night.
What an awesome location. We went for a corporate lunch and cocktail making session...it was amazing. Great venue and very friendly staff.
A must see place. Don't miss the opportunity to visit this wonderful venue. It has been decorated to such a high standard. Very quirky. Had starters of almonds, olives and bread. Such good size helping and tasted beautiful. The lemon grass chicken was incredible and a nice size again. Definitely worth visiting.
Absolutely loved the atmosphere, the whole restaurant tied things together so well. The heritage building with the old school decoration was magic! The food and service was also top tier. Then upstairs for some live jazz, and a quiet drink, topped the night. Many thanks to the entire crew, we had a great night.
We booked Electric Avenue for our wedding celebration and had the most wonderful time! Mrs J. Rabbits was kept as a secret until part way through our event. The food was amazing and all of our dietary requirements were catered for deliciously - so many good gf and vegan options! To the staff who we worked with; Susanna, Estelle, Pickles, Axel, Matt, Will, and so many more behind the scenes, you were all so warm and welcoming. Our guests loved your venue, the catering, and the warm atmosphere. Thank you so much for helping us celebrate our special day!
We had our wedding here on the weekend and it was lovely. The team were super helpful - special shout outs to Susanna, Axel and Carlos for thier great customer service. My Mum fell up the stairs on her way into the speak easy bar and cut her head and Carlos was very sincere and helpful when writing up the incident report. Hopefully you get a brighter light at the top of the stairs so that slips can be avoided in the future. Thanks for hosting our event :-)
