Came here for the brisket croissant and it did not disappoint. The croissant was flaky on the exterior, albeit a little soggy on the inside because of the filling (it might have helped to toast it a little longer). The combination of brisket, mac & cheese, pecorino, chilli jam and fried egg was really delicious and melded well together, but I do wish the chilli jam was served warm and perhaps integrated into the rest of the dish. It was a little disconcerting when it was cold while the rest of the dish was hot. The brisket could also do with a little less salt, but overall, it was a great dish! The service was great too and I loved the ambience of the place.
Overall a pretty good experience from Freja’s. Really nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Would’ve like the chicken it be a bit crispier with a bit more sauce however, it was a pleasant dish. There was nice texture between all the elements on the plate and it was a nice portion too. I’d visit again!
Had a really nice breakfast at Freja’s this morning, I ordered the Atlantic salmon with roasted heirloom beetroot and almond + citrus which was very tasty. My friends ordered the waffles with ice cream and fruit and also the beef brisket croissant w macaroni. Place was super packed but service was reasonable and the food very nice.
