Metro Chicken

The food is always amazing! I have become a regular very quickly and the staff are always so kind and remembered me almost immediately! The staff love to chat and are very friendly too! I always highly recommend to family and friends.

Metro Chicken - Holland Park, Brisbane. It may be only a simple take-away place, but Metro Chicken does some of the tastiest and quick grub for on the cheap forgoing the established chains. This place is local and efficient for a quick eat, with heaps of potential to feed a big household using such bang for the buck; one night before going to night class, I chose this place to try and it was not good. Instead, it was surprisingly fantastic.

Inside is inviting, all clean and bright with the drinks fridge right there in case you want to get something to drink alongside the orders. Behind the counter is the kitchen - via window for orders to be called - thus making what is a very efficient system.

What it has to do, it does well in terms of service. You could not ask for more here. The girl that was here when I went - as well as multi-tasking with instructing a trainee - was friendly and very competent. It was a quiet part of the day, however that can magnify the true skills and they were good. Here as well is a catering menu which looks very good.

My choice was what they call the "Paradise Pack" which consisted of a quarter chicken, chips, a banana fritter and a pineapple fritter and I got a couple of crumbed camanbert bites. This was all top notch quality.
The chicken here is barbequed, you get a fresh and juicy chook that is breakable by hand. Skin is intact, which to me is the best way to have chicken. Little else can be said, but the gist is that I was impressed by the chicken.
As for their fries, they were some of the best that this city has to offer. Hot, fresh and - best of all - very crispy like they were double cooked. The salt is liberally sprinkled all over and they would definitely be a great snack on their own. The given portion was generous.
Both the pineapple and banana fritter were given their due attention too; fresh bits of fruit were used which is more than a lot of no-name places would be bothered to do. The flavours were right there, with the correct amount of batter as to not detract from the fruits themselves.
To finish, there was the camenbert - it is something that is a lot better than you would think. I got a couple, one for my brother-in-law who was doing a big task on the house and he was incredibly enthusiastic upon getting it offered. The flavour of camenbert is strong and really tasty, and the heat had made it runny like lava and there is no elegent way to enjoy it.

This place is certified in service and good food as well as a generous portion. The value is hard to deny, and because of that I can foretell future visits to this place.

Addictive. Easily the best hot chips in Brisbane.

I've only tried the chips and they are the best chips I've ever had. For a chip person this is a very big call. Haha
They even taste good cold!

Best take-away around. This is my favourite take-away on this side of Brisbane. I crave it when I'm out of town.

The chips here are out of this world, and addictive. Please, if nothing else, try their hot chips - you won't regret it. I have had chicken burgers and other fried extras from here aswell, and they have always been tasty. Service is always friendly and prompt.

It's hard to find a place that hits the triple checks: crispy chips, delicious chicken and good gravy, but this place achieves perfection in all three, while being cheap and friendly. They may be takeaway only, but there's always parking and plenty of parks available around it. Bonus: it's fully Halal.
