Love the way this place is tucked out of the way
Friendly smiling staff
Really interesting menu - quirky in a good way
Best of all no loud music
My favourite cafe in the world!!!! And when you can’t make it in but still want your steam junkie fix they are on Uber Eats aswell!!! I can highly reccommend my usual of the Avocado and tomato medley and the banana smoothie Happy Steam Junkie Days!
Steam Junkies is s nice place to hang out with friends and also a place to give yourself some quality quiet time to study or work. The coffee is really tasty and food is super yummy with very reasonable price. Will keep coming back.
Steam junkies is located right next to a bike lane, so what a perfect place to stop for a brunch/coffee after some fresh air. I can't bike to save myself so a run/walk it is. I continue my current poke bowl obsession and this time topped up with some sriracha mayo. Highlights: big on taste and easy on your wallet. Good combo of everything. Lowlights: the ice latte was a little weird, served with too much small pieces of ice.
Bet you haven’t tried this one! Steam Junkies is a little gem with a warehouse hipster vibe tucked behind the streets of Brunswick. With a great selection of fresh juices, spot on coffee (small batch), scrumptious breakfast options and all day burgers and sandwiches, who’s in? It’s peaceful setting is for those mornings when you can’t do too many people, just you and a book or with someone you love.
Yum yum!! This place was the cutest cafe in a pocket of Brunswick where u least expect! A good vibe, friendly staff good breakfast and a good vibe!
One of my favourite cafes! Lovely people and the food is great. Mushroom bruschetta is my usual- filling and delicious. Nice space too, especially on a sunny day.
Coffee not too bad. Burger was decent at the price. I'll be back to try different dishes when I have the chance. However, so many other options nearby.
Gorgeous sunny winter day made perfect by a good coffee, halloumi burger and watching the world go by. Thanks for the bowl of water for my furry companion too!
Cool hipster cafe tucked away right next to the railway tracks. Serves good food in a laid back atmosphere. We enjoyed our brunch and will be back for more!
Very Brunswick style cafe, nice menu, overall trying to be no frills. They use metal straws.
Fritters, $15, good flavours, fried a bit oily and the dressing was very heavy.
Affogato, $4, interesting coffee blend with a tang that works well with ice cream, great that it's not a marked up price.
Would lean towards a 3.5 rating but given Zomato now only allows while numbers I'm being generous and rounding up coz I'd be happy to go back and try more things on the menu.
Today was the first time we’ve tried this place - almost didn’t because of some of the reviews - but was very glad we did. I had the mushroom bruschetta with avocado & poached eggs, he had the avo smash with a side of eggs. Both were fresh & delicious. Other items looked good too. Was it my imagination though, or are the cups a bit smaller than the usual? I’ll definitely be going back.
Pleasant lunch spot, lovely location. Handy to trains and bike park.
Good location and ambience with ample outdoor space for seating. Coffee and pastries are good but the food leaves a lot to be desired unfortunately in terms of taste and quantity. Good place for a coffee but not for a brunch.
Update:
Seems like there is new management since March and new menu, so will be giving them another go.
Great coffee, located at the base Nightingale's The Commons apartment block.
Visited during June lock down of 2021. Your experience is likely to vary.
We ordered ham and cheese croissant and brekkie roll. Both were delicious but the brekkie roll had onion which my partner didn't see in the ingredient list and she has a fodmap intolerance so we swapped.
Both were delicious but more importantly the coffee (long black and oat latte) were delicious. The place is super comfy and would be fun to hang out in with friends.
The barista was super friendly and very professional.
We'll definately come back after lockdown and when I do i'll update.
Off hidden away in a backstreet was this little gem, service was great and friendly. Coffee really good and the menu options different than just your norm . I really liked it and recommend
Good food and coffee, friendly staff and a nice warm atmosphere on a cold winter morning.
