For our Valentine’s Day dinner, we went to Barkley’s kitchen in Brunswick to try their V’day special dinner menu package. We got to try one entree to share and had a plate of chicken skewers, which was extremely delicious is taste. The chicken was cooked to perfection with tender succulent bites meting inside my mouth. Next in the main course, we tried the Rib Eye steak rare with veggies and mashed potatoes on the side and with creamy mushroom sauce, and Salmon with veggies and mashed potatoes on the side. The steak was absolutely heavenly in taste, so well cooked, pink on the inside juicy on each bite, and went so well with that tasty mushroom sauce. The Salmon was also nice. Both the dishes were really filling. Next we got dessert each with hot chocolate cake with ice cream and sticky date filling, which was equally brilliant, especially the combination of hot n cold. We got a complimentary Jacob’s creek white wine to go with our dinner. It was really lovely. The whole ambiance was so incredibly cozy yet romantic with nice music playing on the background and candle lights on the table. The staff were so friendly, warm, kind and very helpful, they made us feel at home the moment we walked in. Decor is cool and so is the seating area. This place is highly recommended to one and all, especially, if you love Italian cuisine. Also don’t forget to ring the bell while walking out to let the chef know that you loved the food.
Barkly's Kitchen is located on the bustling Sydney Rd. My mum and I had dinner here recently and we were welcomed warmly by the staff.
A great wine and food menu, we started off with the calamari which was so nice and crunchy on the outside and very tender inside. A decent size too, this was such a great starter to have. We shared the king prawn pizza and pasta marinara, both dishes were generous with ingredients and the seafood very fresh. The pizza base was the perfect thickness and everything about this was amazing!
A definite visit if you are in the area, thanks for having us!
I visited this place last weekend and food was really awsome. I recommend to people to have Mona Lisa pizza. Ambience is also amazing and on Saturday live music is there
Was in Australia for a vacation and must say, had one of the best food of the trip here. The flavors were amazing in every dish. Everything from the ambience and service needs a special mention. Will be back here soon.
Been here with my friend on a groupon deal and let me tell you it was one of the most value deals for me so far. It will not disappoint you.
Food: for entree we ordered crumbed calamari. The squid was very tender and juicy. I still can feel the taste now. However, it would be so much better if it was not too oily. For the main course, we got seafood risotto and carbonara. Firstly, the risotto was very flavourful and the seafood was fresh. But the saltiness was the only down thing. Still would come back for it. For carbonara, my friend enjoyed it so much. The sauce was very creamy and tasty not very salt as mine one. The pasta was perfectly cooked and freshly made. Lastly, we had chocolate pudding with ice cream as dessert, it was tasty and well presented.
The place was clean and neat love the hip vibe of it. Perfect for family and friends meeting. The customer service was good not so great but still they were very friendly and understood their food.
We ordered BBQ beef bacon burger and i must say, it was one of the best beef burgers i have tried, in terms of taste, preparation, serving and bacon tastes so juicy. Another thing on our plates was Seafood pasta, so like a platter, and tomatoes in it make it sweet n sour.
Overall, highly recommended.
I would love to visit there frequently. One of the best eating places.

Came here on a Groupon voucher. The marinara pasta (chef's signature) was amazing! Super flavorsome & full of generous amounts of fresh seafood. Was really impressed with the meatballs for entree, although menu was wrong. 4 meatballs, not 6. The souvlaki was nothing to write home about, but chip's were nice. Atmosphere is good. Found this restaurant while searching for some lunch place on sydney road Brunswick ... i must admit this is best lunch in Brunswick i ever had ... Huge options in menu they offer pizza, pasta, steak, Salad, Burger and soo on what my picky family will choose ... And also not only dine in service they offer home delivery and takeaway as well and price are very reasonable at this restaurant ... And exceptional customer service from lady at bar .... Would definitely come back for their happy hours and would highly recommend this Italian restaurant in Brunswick for lunch and dinner .....
Came here to try the famous Barkley Kitchen cobs and they did not disappoint. We got the green pesto cob, creamy chicken cob and a margarita pizza. The pasta cob was incredible- so filling and worth every penny so make sure you bring your appetite. Also tried the new special - the Easter dessert cob. Oh my goodness you have to try this!!! Never tasted a dessert so good.
Ooft. Carbs on carbs, on carbs. 🍝 This place is known for their pasta cobs and fairy floss martinis so we had to check it out.
Mates ordered cheesy pasta in cobs and a garlic prawn pizza (not pictured) and I ordered the porterhouse steak with mushroom sauce. Impressed with the steak that was actually cooked medium rare. Attentive service and the place was fully booked the entire dining duration - would recommend making a booking.
Always wanted to eat something out of a cob. So cheers to @barklyskitchen for allowing me to tick that off the list.

Exceptional food and service! Went there with family, everyone loved the pizza, pasta, risotto and garlic bread.
Halal options, just inform the staff who are very friendly and very accommodating. Had the meat platter which was lovely (especially the chicken wings and parma), and arancini which was gorgeous. They do have alcohol and pork on the menu, but they can make their cocktails non-alcoholic (fairy floss was yum). Was recommended the peri-peri pizza which was really nice. Would definitely go back.
Exploring Brunswick for the first time and found this gem for lunch. Ordered the Seafood Linguini and Barkly's Fettuccini. Both were delicious and we polished the plates. Good value with generous portions. Great ambience and even greater service from Marcia. Compliments to the chef too. Will definitely return to ring the bell again!
