he Moreland Hotel is a great location situated on the corner of Sydney Road and Moreland Road in Coburg. It is open until the early hours of the morning as well as well into the afternoon and the night too. It has an area for pokies machine enthusiasts, a smoking area with horse racing games on display, a bar and a dining area with pool tables for entertainment. It is very close to a train station, a tram stop towards city via Lygon St, Moreland, along Sydney Road upwards and downwards towards Brunswick and also North Coburg. It also is right near the bus stop for the 510 metropolitan bus towards Ivanhoe or Essendon. The Moreland also has a very large carpark to accommodate all transport needs.
Good family restaurant kids area is great, kids loved it. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Meals 🥘 served quickly and they were tasty.
I think this hotel serves very good pub food. With a little trepidation, I accompanied others to this hotel; they chose it for its easy rear parking and affordability. The menu is a standard pub menu. I ordered Scoth Fillet Steak and Garlic Prawn sauce and side salad. Steak was cooked to perfection and side salad was lightly dressed. Others ordered battered fish with chips and salad -batter was good and fish cooked just right; and a seniors Christmas in July - a good light vegetable soup, lovely roast pork and roasted vegetables and an aromatic pudding with a "packet" hot custard. For a pub meal, this hotel was very good. If you want another cuisine, then go somewhere else. I think earlier reviewers are rather unfair in their assessment or management has lifted its act.
