Un petit bout de Japon à Cairns !
C'est un peu par hasard que nous avons trouvé ce restaurant dans la galerie marchande Orchid Plaza à Cairns.
Si l'enseigne est à la fois en français et en japonais c'est normal, la propriétaire des lieux est mariée à un français ! N'hésitez pas à échanger quelques mots avec elle !
La salle est très bien décorée et permet de s'asseoir. La carte se compose de plats traditionnels japonais, tels que le curry, les takoyakis, les okonomiyakis...
Le tout est vraiment très bon, équilibré et fait honneur à la gastronomie japonaise ! Un must !
I now have a new favourite eating place in Cairns. Excellent service, delicious food, exceptionally cheap. Management and staff are wonderful. This is seriously good food! I’ll definitely be back.

Very authentic and delicious made to order Okonomiyaki (Japanese pancake). Their mains are only starting $10 bucks in big portions making them the perfect place for your everyday lunch.
The owner is very welcoming and friendly! It is worth going back again if I have the chance.
Fantastic food. We tried the okonomiyaki, yakisoba, takoyaki, and karaage bowl and loved all of it. I had been craving good yakisoba since being in Osaka 3 years ago and this place was very satisfying. Attentive service, particularly for my partner's allergies. The owner was very kind and welcoming — felt like old friends instead of customers. If you ever end up coming to Canada, hit us up!
It felt like I was being welcomed into someone's home. The food is lovingly prepared and it shows. Hands down the best Japanese food in all of Australia! The omurice was so well done. The curry was hearty and delicious. To top it all off, our two meals and the side of takoyaki were only $30 AUD. Excellent experience, I'd love to visit again!
Wow, I was very impressed with this place. Decided to give it a go due to its high rating but I was skeptical of how authentic the food would be. I ordered the Japanese curry with karaage chicken lunch special and my husband ordered the Takoyaki and karaage chicken. The Japanese curry is hands down one of the best Japanese curries I have had outside of Japan, it tasted very authentic and the karaage was cooked to perfection. Don't let looks deceive you, I would definitely recommend this diamond in the rough.
We were only in Cairns for a couple of nights, and each night we just wandered around looking for somewhere to eat. Stumbled across Petit Japan.
We ordered vegetarian yakisoba, vegetarian gyoza, and vegetarian omurice and it was all absolutely delicious. The owner was super nice as well. Great little place with a lovely story. Definitely check this place out if you're in town!
Cute little cafe in Orchid Plaza with what looks like a really authentic Japanese diner menu, alongside some more recognisable stuff for the unadventurous like fish n chips. The okonomiyaki was such a generous portion and really tasty. Can't wait to try more menu items!
Delicious food and good service. This restaurant is my favourite lunch place. Every time I came to have a Japanese food, I never disappointed of this restaurant. Yummy food. Strongly recommend this one!
Loved the prawn okonomiyaki, and the portion was huge, could easily be a share item.
Great service too, I will return anytime I’m in Cairns again.
