This restaurant has been around for ever and had a good Zomato rating so we booked in for The Fork 50% off food deal. The interior is cute and classy and it seemed the lunch rush was over. They were out of calamari so we ordered the arancini and mussels to start. Arancini were three cheese and delicious. The mussels - these were amazing!! The sauce they were in was mind blowing. Nectar. I can’t express how good they were! I had the spanner crab risotto for mains and it was rich and tasty, although I could have done with a slightly bigger serving! The marinara was also rich and full of seafood. Desserts were the tiramisu and lemon tart. This was an amazing meal made even better by the fact that it was half price through thefork promotion.
Will come back for:
+ Bruschetta
+ Linguine Marinara
+ Risotto of duck ragu
Popped in here for a quick lunch and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of ingredients in each dish. When you are starting with great ingredients, you don’t really do too much except to help to accentuate these flavours and to treat these with respect. The chefs in this place really know how to do this. The bruschetta was nicely balanced, lighter then expected, flavourful and delicious. The linguine was perfectly cooked and surrounded by generous portion of well cooked seafood. Risotto is a difficult dish to get perfect, but these were well cooked and the balanced of flavours was really good. Service was quick, friendly and efficient. Prices are above average but fair for what you get. A great little spot for your fill of Italian fair. Recommended.
We came here on a weeknight but it was still full of customers. It can get quite noisy when it's super busy and service takes a bit of a hit.
Having said that, this is quality Italian cuisine second to none. Proportions were a bit out of whack with the fish of the day appearing shrunken while the veal was spilling over the edges of the plate. The tiramisu had more caffeine than my weekly intake, could not sleep until 3am (you have been warned!)
I managed a walk in on a Tuesday night, and by request rushed a sit down meal in 50 minutes before the movie started. Looking at the place was a bit of a puzzle, I was standing near what I wondered could be the door inside, it's a very small glass door! that opens onto a half inside eating area for 6.Carpaccio was classic in flavor combination, gnocci good, but a bit of a heart attack trying to finish it, even if the pear helps cut through, the highlight was the rolled spinach pasta thingy. The service guy know whats going on, being a bit of a showmen, its what I want in a Italian place, also a guy with a bit of arrogance, I will have to test him on that next time.Bread was awesome.Bill a bit high. After I win the 80 million this week, i'll return again
Visited this place on busy weekend's night. Italy 1 was crowded with many people, but the staff warmly welcomed us.
Firstly, we had some appetizers with cocktails which they recommended. Then, linguine marinara and slow braised veal shanks to share. All dishes were beautiful, especially Linguine Marinara was exceptional!!
Just because the restaurant can be a bit noisy when it is on peak time, I rate 4.5☆ here.
Italy 1 will always have a special place in my heart. In 2013 it was the first fancy restaurant I had been to. Before that point my experience of eating out was mainly cheap Chinese food and takeaway meals. Italy 1 would have helped me become the Zomato reviewer I am today.
The first time I went to Italy 1 was Valentine’s Day of 2013. We went here because my boyfriend at the time hadn’t made a booking at any restaurant but we were able to get the last table available at Italy 1. I remember being in a daze of how nice everything was. The Valentine’s Day menu that year was delicious. During that time I got to try the Marinara which was delicious.
Fast forward to 2018. Dimmi has a 50% off the total bill special at Italy 1 to celebrate July Restaurant month. Of course I couldn’t miss this opportunity to return to Italy 1. I invited my best friend out for dinner. I was happy to see the same owner was still there. I of course ordered the Marinara and guess what? It tasted exactly just the same as what it did in 2013! What a beautiful dish and reminded me why Italy 1’s Marinara is my favourite that I’ve tried so far. For dessert we had the chocolate pudding, it was delicious, one of the best desserts I’ve had this year.
Thank you Italy 1 for still being the same! Will hopefully visit sooner than another 5 years. Haha.
I am so glad that I have stumbled upon this sensational Italian restaurant. My friend and I went to dine at Italy 1 on a weekday night. We made a booking, luckily, because the restaurant was full! I had a look of the menu prior to going to the restaurant and I already knew what I was gonna get.
Despite having a full house, the waiters and waitresses at Italy 1 were so attentive to our request - it was impeccable. The ambiance was perfect too. After rattling off the specials for the day, we placed our order with some help from our waiter. I had mozzarella rotolo as entree (special), osso bucco as main, and tiramisu to finish things off. My friend had a charcuterie board, duck risotto and a panna cotta as dessert.
The highlight of the day was definitely the tiramisu. The scotch finger was so soft but it was able to hold the weight of the mousse on top! We were just amazed by it. Not to forget about the mozzarella rotolo and the duck risotto! Yummmmmmmm I am drooling by just typing this review.
We went there in conjunction with an offer by a booking site. After trying it, I actually don't mind paying full price if the offer is not running anymore - it's that good!
We Love this restaurant! I brought my parents and kids there for dinner! The food were really nice, the seafood were very fresh! The service r good! Definitely will go back again!
Went here with my dad before a movie (he was paying for the food so why not 😜). I had the house made gnocchi with braised beef which was so nice despite what it may look like in this photo 😂. The only thing I’d say was that maybe the pasta menu is a bit limited as I’m not a huge fan of gnocchi.. That being said I am definitely converted! I will definitely be coming back and trying another one of the gnocchi dishes. The staff were super friendly and the service was very efficient! Definitely a top Italian place to try 😁
Nice food however some of the mains are very small. The Barramundi is only about 3cm x 10cm and 2cm thick - roughly one third of what other high end restaurants serve and cost close to $40. Similarly for the gnocchi - its entree sized. The roast duck was excellent and the deserts were also very good. Some minor tweaks and I would rate Itally1 a 5.
