We visited o’Wok Kitchen on a Friday night and it was quite busy when we walked in. Thankfully we got a table straight away and service was swift and welcoming.
We decided to go with the recommendations of the staff there; chicken ribs with chili, fish noodle soup, lamb chops, homemade dumplings – you name it.
The highlight of our night was definitely the lamb chops – they were perfectly cooked, crispy skin, the right amount of fat and meat and seasoned with the most amazing concoction of salt and spices.
The second best that we had was the glass noodle fish soup – the fish was falling apart and the soup had such a depth of flavor. So good; we can still taste it in our head.
We cannot wait to return and try more off the menu – especially more of the homemade dumplings; the selection is so massive.
This Authentic Chinese restaurant has one of the friendliest staff. The interior is quite dark but sheds in some light via the ceiling.
Honey chicken - I must say is one of the best in Melbourne. The most crisp batter and the honey that glazes over it is so solid and sweet.
Japanese pan fried vegetarian dumplings - freshly made and the skin is skin with the most filling fillings of thin glass noodles and a mix of veggies. The same goes for the Pork and chive dumplings.
The deep fried chicken with chilli pepper is one of their best sellers. Even with less chillies, a red bowl could be seen. So spicy yet so full of aroma. The chicken is cut into small pieces.
We have been scouring this area for a decent Vietnamese and happy to find Pho Anh. Went on a weekday evening and finding service to be quite good. Ordered beef pho and lemon grass beef vermiceli. Liked the soup of the pho, more herb flavour than meat flavour. Would definitely come back as it is reasonably priced for Camberwell.
