The $6 kids menu is so good. $25 per head I’m very satisfied with the food.
Worth the price with the amazing foods! Will def come here more ofen.
Good food, easy to order through touch panel.
Ordered miso nasu teshoku, with adding salmon sashimi.
Total bill is roughly $27.
Good rice (I guess rice is from Japan), but cooked slightly watery, texture was too soft. Also the serving size is quite small.
I'm not a huge eater, and felt comfortably after eating. For a big eater, you need to 2 dishes!
Service was not great. You need to get attention. I was confused the water was self-serving or not. I got my water by myself, but other table received from waiters plus top up.
It is a chain restaurant, I would not mind to come back for food again.

Came here during their 2nd anniversary celebrations where they had 30% off the total bill.
I ordered the Unagi Hitsumabushi Teishoku ($26) which came with a few side dishes and the main dish, Unagi (eel) on rice. The eel was quite chewy and not soft as a good eel should be but the flavours were good. For first timers, there is an instruction sheet on how to eat the hitsumabushi as there are a few ways you can enjoy the dish. I also think the portion is not that big so for hungry people this probably won't be enough.
I also ordered the Matcha Anmitsu ($8) for dessert which had a strong matcha flavour. I think for $8 though you would expect something a bit more.
Overall, for the price I paid I think its really good value but for the regular price, I would probably consider again.
Yayoi serves a nice variety of teishoku and à la carte. This is one of my dad’s favourite restaurant in Chatswood and I enjoy eating here as well. The only downside is there’s always a long wait.
My daughter and I had a lovely meal here before the movies . We both chose the salmon teriyaki meal which included miso soup, rice and a spinach/carrot salad. Service was friendly and very courteous and the food was really tasty
Yayoi is situated in a very quiet street and quite far away from Chatswood central. But it is walkable from Westfield or Chatswood chase. We were impressed by the ambience. It is very clean, tidy, modern and shiny. The staff are very friendly and polite, they were well-trained, for example, when they give us the bill :))) We came in when they nearly close but they dont give us the felling that they are chasing us away. Ok. Now is the food. They will give you the menu and you put the order through an ipad. You can add on extra or take out ingredient that you dont like. Thumbs up! The food came out quickly. The salmon I had is fresh and order dishes are so yummy.
I will definitely try it again but on my payday haha since the food is a bit high in price. But not overprice at all. I think you pay for the fresh food and nice ambience and good service, so in the end it is reasonable price.
I have been here 3 times and it never disappoints. Yayoi provides a tasty and balanced meal, leaving you feeling satisfied but also clean. I recommend trying the Special Eel set and experimenting with the different way to eat it.
Staff were very attentive and friendly, better service and environment than the yayoi in the city. Food was very tasty, dashi sauce with the unagi was lovely. Would recommend the chatty location if you haven’t tried yayoi before.
nice and clean place with timber color interior which provided relaxing and easy ambience. every table has a wall tablet for ordering food. it makes sure you get the right food rather than go through difficulty of ordering with Japanese speaking staff which it's not uncommon. foods are presented OK and taste fine and lightly flavoured relatively. staff always have nature smile on face and very polite just I was told there is no table salt. not sure she didn't understand or they just don't provide. doesn't really bother me anyway.
Good are delicious 😋 Staff very professional and lovely 🥰 Best experience uplifting my day! Highly recommend.
Reliable and authentic Japanese food. Ingredients are fresh and cooked well.
This is a real chain from Japan serving "teishoku" so you can find things on the menu that represent the kind of food Japanese will eat regularly (hint: that's not sushi)
Great service, consistently good food.
Very authentic and delicious Japanese food, very comfortable atmosphere and high quality menu. Bit of a higher end eat for younger people, but worth it!
Our second time coming here. Our family really enjoyed having lunch in here, and is my daughter’s first time to try Japanese Dish, and she loved it!
It is a really good choice for a family, staff were very nice and the area stayed very clean. You will need to order on a iPad, which is also a fun experience to try. Recommended
