Ryo's was amazing!!!
We ordered:
🍜the spicy tonkotsu was 7.5/10
noodles, eggs and pork suited the broth well but the dish didnt really suit my partners preferences :/
🍜soy sauce tonkotsu was 8.5/10
slightly on the saltier side but was very well flavoured (i think you can ask to have the ramen soup less saltier), the pork, bokchoy and egg were an amazing addition! all worked very well together as a whole~
🥟gyozas were 10/10
we had to order another serving!! was crispy on one side and very juicy and flavourful on the inside 😍. Best Gyoza i have tried in Sydney imo.
Their service was amazing! Servers were fairly efficient and I appreciated the cleanliness of the store in addition to the hand sanitizers and separated seating areas especially during this pandemic!!
Unfortunately half way through my meal, a mosquito flew into my soup, and they had kindly offered me to replace it with another bowl! Was very considerate of them and I was able to enjoy my meal to its full extent thanks to the kind team ❤️
Definitely will be coming back to try more ramen and their other sides
Best ramen in Sydney!!! Always love coming here. Small restaurant with good local vibe. Plenty of Japanese writing on the wall and food is authentically delicious.
Great Noodles and Delicious Ramen!! Must Try in Sydney.
The noodles were so good you can have it on its own with soup and you'd be satisfied! Broth was great as well with flavours seeping from each spoonful.
The egg I prefer a bit more runny, but that's about it. Unfortunately no ramen take-away option so definitely line up early! Lunch for example, get there no later than 12:15pm as there will be a line.
Karaage is a must-have here as it is made to crisp perfection and the soy sauce marinade has a hit of unami on the tastebuds 😋
Loved the tonkotsu broth of this ramen shop, it has depth, smoky, garlicky and not too greasy. The fish and pork tonkotsu broth is a bit blander, an option if you’re looking for a less rich option.
The noodles are harder than most ramen place, which is how i liked it.
Serving is big, appreciate the thickness of the chashu as well.
Everything is in paper bowls due to covid.
I wish they have an option for people to order takeaway outside of shop as it can get a bit crowded, but i’m happy people are returning to restaurants regardless :)
Its rare to get such quality and authentic Ramen in Australia. Only tried to one so far and will be back to explore further.
Ordered #3 spicy pork noddles. Soup has rich flavor. Dumplings are really good. Karaage tastes average. Very busy and people waiting outside for a long time, but worth it. Tastes better than Ippudo
Ryo's hype and fame definitely precedes its taste. Still one of the better bowls in Sydney, but it's rating is far above some of its superior competitors. Favourite here is the soy tonkotsu, which is quite balanced but lacks complexity. Owner apparently hails from Fukuoka but this is a far far cry from proper Hakata tonkotsu ramen which is much deeper in flavour and uses thin noodles.
Worth a visit if you're nearby but I find it quite hard to justify the lines. Prices have also risen due to popularity but not yet to the point where it should be considered overpriced.
I had been meaning to eat at this restaurant for months, and I'm so glad I finally did. We waited around 10 minutes to get in. Once inside, the service is pretty efficient. The tonkotsu ramen and cold noodles both tasted great.
I've been to Ryo's many times and most locals in Sydney would know about Ryo's and how it is famous for its ramen. It's known for it's ramen rather than decore or anything else. I think it's a nice cheap and cheerful restaurant.Ryo's is a tiny little restaurant which is located away from the main strip of Crows Nest. We are able to typically find parking a street or two away.
A Ramen institution in Sydney - Ryo's Noodles has been around for as long as I can remember.
Reasonable price, good value and good food. The only downside is be prepared to wait for table unless you arrive early, as the place is tiny and cosy.
Must try!!!
Great ramen if you live in northern Sydney. Not the best but would be a top 5 within Sydney for me.
Service was good, food arrived within 10minutes of ordering.
Price was reasonable and the seating is quite small so expect abit of a wait if you are going during peak hr.
One of the best ramen in Sydney but tainted by the queue. Not worth the wait
Flavourful broth and highlight is the melt in the mouth chashu. The classic Tonkotsu ramen and karaage chicken was delicious. The sour prawn ramen was very sour and not to my liking.
Limited seating inside and always a queue. We arrived and there was 16 people before us. Took us 55min to be seated. Would recommend making the queue more worthwhile like offering complimentary hot tea while waiting
Honestly one of the best Ramen places in Sydney. The Ramen is delicious and really nicely balanced on the palate without being too heavy like some Ramen broths. The sides also don't disappoint.
The cosy atmosphere and chill Japanese vibes are great. The LoFi music playing matched the vibe and helped set the perfect mood. If you're looking for a place to warm up and get good food on a cold and rainy day it would be hard to find somewhere better.
As delicious as I could remember from 13 years ago. Big and yummy onigiri, good delicious heart-warming broth and chewy ramen noodle, fantastic gyozas!!! Long queue but moved pretty quickly during dinner hour
Strong contender for best ramen in Sydney so far. I've had Gogyo, Gumshara and Ichiban Boshi but this comes first. Their soy tonkotsu and fish+tonkotsu ramen have tasty broth, perfectly cooked noodle and good toppings. Their charshu is on the lean side and egg is a bit overcooked for my taste.
They have option to have a less salty broth, which is nice.
Also when they say they close at 2PM, they really mean their last order for lunch is 2PM.
Finally able to try the ramen at Ryo's Noodles and it was totally worth the hype. Got there at 11.20 with only 2 people ahead of us. We were seated once they opened and the restaurant quickly filled up. This humble Japanese restaurant serves the best ramen! I ordered the spicy pork and the broth was delicious to say the least! Will be back for more!
Definitely one of the best ramen ships in Sydney.
The pork broth is rich and flavourful. They don't skimp on toppings either.
Definitely worth being there early for as tables are limited.
