Seriously, stop talking about it. I'm hungry as. Its the best. One of the last places that do meat on coal. Okay Im going tonight Yeeeaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Have frequented the place for years. Friendly people, great food and reasonable prices. Difficult to find a place that sells a better tasting souvlaki than this!
Have been a patron for years and travel from Footscray for best Souvlaki and Home made spanakopita in Melbourne. They do Take away , and Casual Dine inn, no bookings required. The only souvlaki bar that is family run for last 15 years in area.
best on brunswick street. only souvlaki bar with real marinated lamb and liquor licence. $5 local beer
$6.00 import beer. My favorite on Brunswick Street . Simply amazing value
Cheap and tasty quick bites amidst a sea of overpriced Instagram food. It's not the best nor the most authentic Greek food I've had, but definitely a go-to in the area. 4 falafels and a dip for $5 or a spanikopita for $7 are top picks.
Hardly the flashest fitout or interior decoration but fantastic food.
We had Lamb Souvlaki that were genuinely flavorsome and very satisfying.
They use REAL lamb, fresh made on premises accompaniments and certainly offer exceptional value for quality of the food.
Finished off with mouthwateringly good Baclava.
This place is a regular staple for my babe and I. We usually go a mixed Gyros platter with added capsicum dip aswell as tzatziki. A glass of red sweetens the palate between the onslaught of some serious flavour country. They also use Mr Pita (one of the best pitas going in Melbourne). Highly recommends. Souvs are also large and amazing but its hard for us to past that platter!
Huge souva!! But why i don’t have chips inside my souva?! The bread wasn’t fluffy and more expensive than JG.. 😂😂 Service was ok, they charge 50 cents for card 😕 I’m still prefer JG 😷
4.5 for the food, huge souvlakies $14 ea,my son had meat(lamb)chips and sauces, big eating 16 yr old had to take doggie bag,his $15.Inside a little tired, run down, but clean as...food fresh and yum,my son loved the banter between the Greek Grannies(his words)as they prepared the food,we drove 100klm from the country just to experience Brunswick St,this cafe was the icing on the cake.
I enthusiastically drunkenly devoured all of this in about two seconds flat. But I imagine that most of the clientele did exactly the same thing.
The Real Greek is the Real Deal. It's surly been passed down generation to generation, with the technique and style of which the souvlakis are assembled. The lamb is tasty, juicy and tender, the wrap was fresh and and puffy in texture with a slight freshly grilled surface. The souvlaki was loaded with fillings, from the freshest onion, ripest tomatoes and the most crunchy lettuce available. And the tzatziki..... well you know what I mean.
The real greek is authentic & has the traditional Greek vibe, saganaki in the window and ouzo on the shelves. 16$ for a lamb souva, well worth the investment to my mental health and well being.
The shop presented not so well, there were tables not wiped down, Food all over the ground out side and birds living in the sign at the front door.
Other then that the location is good, close to bars and clubs. Great for a late night feed, for the party goers and the works working late night shift work.
Been a regular customer here a while now, one of, if not the best souvlakia in Melbourne, Fresh pita, Fresh salata, Good quality meat, also their Pastitso & Gemista is very traditionally made, lots of places make these dishes too bland, here they have beautiful flavour, very very friendly staff. 11 out of 10.
superb food and very efficient on food preparing to feed the hungry people.
We went there for supper 2 nights in a roll. no doubt the quality and taste is fresh. You can choose lamb or chicken or mix souvlaki with cheese. once try you will never forget. gets very crowded at night especially with drunken people. otherwise food is superb. there's indoor and outdoor seating as well. Souvlaki doesnt isn't one of the cheapest food for sandwich.
Traditional Greek food.
For a very casual meal, the restaurant has seen better days, but it has atmosphere
Reasona priced.
One of the best souvlas in town.
Venue is outdated but taste beats its competitors nearby
