Such a great little restaurant in freo with delicious pizza! Especially the pizza dolce, it was Nutella perfection! Thanks for an amazing meal we will definitely be back.
My wife and I ate here recently on a Friday night and ordered
2 pizzas with a couple of drinks. Reasonably priced food and drinks and I was
very impressed by the wood fired pizzas. Simple ingredients and the dough
itself was crispy yet fluffy inside. Perfect in my opinion. Will be back again.
Went here yesterday and can only say loved it..
There was 3 of us and were all blown away.
Great job guys keep it up we will be back for dinner
Came here for brunch and tea. Had the mushroom, bruschetta and eggs meal. Breakfast menu branches out a bit from the typical eggs on toast and at the same time it's not obnoxious or overly hipster. You can get a reliable breakfast and not be bored. Food was very good. Tea was nothing special. Service was very good.
I've been there for dinner, I had a porterhouse steak with mash and mix vegi ... the best steak that i ever ate, thanks to the lovely staff ! Lovely atmosphere!
I enjoy discovering little places like these
What a nice little place on the main strip in Fremantle
The food there was good but not impressive, it felt good for what was there theme they weren't overly priced, great presentation of there meals, I wouldn't mind going back there again, nice place to try out if you want change
Nice ambience. Coffee was Columbian but with a flavour more like what my American friends serve. Food was ok but not huge amounts of flavour. Pleasant enough.
I was won over as soon as I saw that they have Matso's ginger beer on tap! Very quiet on a Wednesday lunch, but a great place to people-watch on the strip. I had the pie and beer-battered chips (oh, memories of Holly's at Kmart!) and the chips were great. The pie was a good effort if house-made but I think they can do better if bought-in. A tomato chutney or even Beerenberg tomato sauce on the side would also be better than the Heinz/standard one.
Free WiFi makes this a good group study or meeting spot during the day, and they're open in the evening later in the week. A great addition to the strip with an interesting and changing menu, and service was excellent when I visited. Well worth checking out.
I thought I’d walked the strip a thousand times, but somehow I have managed to walk past this place opposite the Monk Brewery without noticing it. This morning I decided to head down to Freo to discover this place that has been evading me since it opened in February this year. Now I was a little confused with opening time because the menu says on their website “all day breakfast 7am to 5pm,” but the website opening hours are 8am for brekkie. I assumed the latter and arrived at just after 8am to discover locked doors. The lights were on and the cook was inside. I thought I would stroll on by and enjoy Freo outside the tourist “push and shove” time and give it a go a bit later.
When I returned 10 minutes later the cook was opening the doors, so I asked if opening time was 8am, and he said yes, but they were running late today. He gave me the menu and said that coffee would arrive as soon as the manager or someone else arrived, as he did not operate the coffee machine. That was fine with me, so I studied the menu and enjoyed the hip interior all to myself. After a while, the chef asked me if I was ready to order and I decided on the Board’s classic smoked salmon benedict on a brioche bun. Soon the Italian waitress arrived and asked if I had ordered, I said yes, but not coffee yet. So she made a beautiful hot and strong long Mac topped up. Ah it was magnificent, the beans were prefect strong flavoured, and quite different to anywhere I had tried before. They do have their own blend which I discovered you can buy at the counter to enjoy at home.
The meal came out only a minute after the coffee and was nicely presented. The eggs were perfectly poached and the Tassie salmon was very enjoyable. I enjoyed the brioche bun, never had it with a benedict before, but it made it light. I had the place to myself for at least 45 minutes when folks started to arrive.
Nice place, with good food and excellent coffee; I ordered a second round after discovering they don’t do a Bloody Mary. Will be back to try their lunch or dinner menu.
Relaxed atmosphere and nice design without being a carbon copy clone of every other hipster cafe out there. Great location in Fremantle- good for people watching. The waitress who took my order was the smiliest person I've ever met but it was genuine and not forced. Food was well presented, tasted good and was generously portioned except for the bacon. Normal menu prices are not too bad for the location, lookout for the specials which are a bargain.
We just happened upon this place for breakfast and were enticed by the $15 big brekkie. The barister was so friendly and welcoming. Coffee was good and food was amazing. So yum! And great value. Glad we stopped in. See you next time Salted Board!
