Friday night - got a table
Service is quite good
I had the turmeric chicken wings that were so amazing, the betal leaf was a very small serving quite tasty but good. Has the taro chips with tangy mayo which was good! The corn was okay as well.
Pretty good got to try a good selection of the menu for 45$

Lunch here was pretty good. We had the lunch special. For $15, you had jasmine rice with the house nam jim, betel leave with salad and silken tofu and a curry. We had the red duck curry which was full of flavor. It was creamy, had lychees and a duck leg. There was fresh Thai basil and herbs. For the 2nd curry, we went with the orange chicken. It was more of a sweet and sour soup base with basil, young corn and baby Thai eggplant.

This was a good 1st visit. Will definitely be back to try the pho.

I came for dinner with my partner, eager to try this new restaurant in Kingsway.

We ordered the sister knows best shared menu, which cause $45 per pax.
What we got is simply sad.
1) rice crackers which cost $6 on the menu
2) betel leaf canapé - not in the menu
3) BBQ beef which cost $19 on the menu
4) green curry lobster - not in the menu
5) mango ice cream which cost $3 on the menu

The overall servings are tiny and definitely not worth $90 for 2. I am a small eater, and I mean small, eating less than 1000 calories per day. I was still hungry after the set menu.

We must have looked really sour because the waiter came and offered us more food, any dish from the menu.

That gesture really changed our opinion about the restaurant. They have showed great attitude and service!

I was delighted to have been invited to the media launch party for Little Sister last night and to meet some very esteemed chefs and people in the industry. LS had their opening on the 8th of August with 8 being a lucky number in Chinese culture but was officially opened by the local mayor last night.
Located in prime real estate directly opposite Village Cinemas in the popular foodie hub on Kingsway its serving up Viet Thai food with a spicy kick.
There's a restaurant space downstairs as well as upstairs with the upper level also doubling as a private function space. We sat upstairs by the cosy fireplace and started the evening by sampling a couple of signature cocktails. The firecracker garnished with a jalapeño certainly packed a punch and is definitely a unique option if you like it hot. The cocktail menu doesn't seem to be listed here on Zomato but rest assured you are in good hands with the bartenders there. The mai tai was delicious but my hands down favourite was a rum based pineapple concoction. A tropical fruity delight!
We began with a couple of dishes from the something little menu, the oysters and the rice crackers with the nam prik sauce. The market herbs really freshened it up and had a lovely flavour. The menu also helpfully indicates levels of heat so you can manage your spice intake. We then tried the lattice spring rolls with tofu and black fungus. The nuoc cham was a perfect rendition and the ideal accompaniment.
Next up were some little buns, salt and pepper squid with green apple kimchi and artichoke with lemongrass chilli jam. Baos are one of my favourite things to eat and I thought the artichoke one was a bold and interesting option different to the standard karrage chicken you usually find. While I enjoyed them I think the filling to bun ratio could be improved.
We then explored the 'big sister' component of the menu the crispy skinned pork hock with tamarind chilli glaze and the sandy point beef cheek with pomelo and mandarin. The beef cheek was a slow braised sensation that was extremely tender with beautifully well balanced flavours. Then from the 'she's got attitude' section of the menu we had the red duck curry with snake beans, Thai basil and pineapple. The heat combined with the creamy coconut flavours lingered deliciously on the palette
There was a real finesse around the way the dishes were presented too with the squeeze of lime only being added just as we were given the food. Staff were fantastic also they somehow managed to remember exactly what roughly 50 people were drinking and glided around seamlessly topping up glasses.
We finished with a taste of dessert now generally I don't enjoy Asian style sweets but the coconut gel with lychee molasses and sago cracker was such a delicately light and refreshing way to end the meal. I think I've found my new pre cinema dining spot

I have visited Little Sister twice. The restaurant has great vibe and the staff are friendly and attentive. The cocktail menu is extensive- I've tried a few and enjoyed them totally. I love Asian food and found the variety of tasty dishes much to my liking. The last time I feasted we left it up to the chef's choice and I wasn't disappointed - tasty grab meat, oysters with chilli, chicken and then beef cheeks. Sweets was delicious- peanut butter acce cream and salty caramel Yum. Sorry no photos. Next time.

Hey guys, recently went to little sister for dinner with family, loved the look and styling of the place!
We ordered the sharing plate which was 5 courses. Everything was great, but the 3 stand outs were the chicken winglets which i could have finished all by myself (instead of sharing)
The beefcheek was delicious and just fell apart in your mouth. (Must try)
But the absolute showstopper was the dessert which was a snickers flavoured parfait. (Will definately be going back again and again for this one).
I also had an esspresso martini which was top notch.
And the service was great
Will definately be coming back to little sister to try the other options on the menu
Thanks for a delicious and enjoyable night

We visited this restaurant today and had a fantastic experience. We were greeted warmly and seated promptly by very accommodating and helpful staff. The menu was exciting to read and it didn't feel like just another Thai/Vietnamese restaurant. I enjoyed every mouthful of the food and the wine. Loved. Will go back.
