Dragon Hot Pot is a unique dining experience. They have an amazing selection of soup bases and a variety of ingredients which you can pick yourself!! The quality of the ingredients is excellent! They have also adapted very well to COVID-19 restrictions and now offer DIY kits delivered straight to your door! Customer service is excellent, just a phone call away for any questions. I ordered online and was able to enjoy the meal (tastes just like at the restaurant) in the comfort of my own home.

Love the dry mala hotpot. It was super yummy. Will come back for more.
This will always be my go to hotpot place. Love how you can customize the soup base and ingredients. Some of my favourites are their golden cheesy balls (glutinous rice inside with a liquid cheese centre!) and sweet potato noodles which are nice and chewy. My favourite soup base is their hot and sour malatang (choose fire hot or dragon hot level to turn up the heat 🔥)
Signature Ma La Tang (Hot Fire) with an assortment of seafood, greens and tofu.
Firstly, the soup base is deliciously still creamy even at spicier levels, however I do want to say that “hot fire” tasted very mild - if you are used to Asian cuisine, I would just go for the spiciest dragon hot, their soup base isn’t very numbing.
Unfortunately, they did give me the wrong base at first (mild instead of hot fire), service is average paced, prices are comparable at $3.30/100g. Selection of foods is diverse, but I was disappointed there was no bokchoy at 12pm, while operating at moderate busy-ness. I would definitely recommend getting a heap of Chinese cabbage, okra and Chinese spinach to get the most of the broth. Fish was standard, anything prawn was great, scallops were very mild in flavour, frozen tofu probably isn’t the best option to add any flavour (but that’s to be expected).
The area is also clean and the rice noodles were brilliant!
Delicious, with vegan options. Huge variety of mushrooms and tofu! Good variety of veggies. Already have been back and will be going again.
The hot pot craze continues unabated. Having been to the Dragon Hot Pot in Boxhill, we visited the Glen Waverley branch with some excitement. I was very disappointed that there was no condiment station here, which was a highlight for me at the other branch. Each table here had a container of chilli oil and that was it. No fresh garlic, no fresh coriander or spring onions.
Having said that though, their broths were all amazing. We had the spicy malatang, the collagen broth and the pickled mustard broth. Everything was flavoursome and all the ingredients we picked were cooked well. The pickled mustard broth was quite unique - this had a nice balance of saltiness and sourness.
Our bowls took awhile to arrive and the place was quite small so be prepared to literally rub shoulders and elbows with strangers.
The key to good hotpot is the broth and they have definitely nailed it when it comes to the broth. They have different broth options and you can go for the less spicy broths if you’re not a fan of spicy
Love the concept of being able to choose what you want and you get to pick your own ingredients and they weigh them accordingly.
I love how their ingredients are very fresh and they do get quite busy

Dragon Hot Pot has made a name for themselves, opening more and more shops around Melbourne so it’s no surprise when they decide to embrace veganism and release a vegan Ma La Tang soup base! So if you’ve never been here before, just walk in, get a table and then pick up a pot and put whatever the hell you want in the pot. From meat to seafood to fishcake and heaps of veggies, there’s something for everyone. Once you’ve got all your ingredients, shuffle over to the counter so they can weigh your pot and it’s $3.38 per 100g and the minimum weight you need is 400g. So you’ve guessed it, the more you put in your pot, the more you gotta pay.
Good to see Dragon Hot Pot has branched out into the suburbs, with Glenny being the only malatang joint (for now).
If you've been to the other branches, you know the drill. Good thing about this branch is that they also offer other styles like collagen broth (non spicy), pickled mustard, hot and sour, and a stir fry.
This time I've gone for a stir fry version. A basic mix of onions, garlic chives, garlic is added to your selected ingredients and stir fried together.
Key flavours you get from the stir fry is garlic, cumin seeds, sichuan pepper and obviously the dry firey chilli. Awesome flavours albeit a tad on the salty side, but I love it.
amazing place with great choice of seafood, the broth and result of making your own hotpot is amazing. Definitely coming back again
Best hot pot in town for sure. Excellent choice of meats, seafood, tofu, mushrooms, Asian vegetables, they have it all. My personal preference is the stir fry option, but the Signature soup seems to be the most popular and is delicious. Spicy for sure but in a good way, delicious and very satisfying.
This is a popular and busy location. Great selection of fresh ingredients and proteins, quite a wide variety too. The signature malatang soup base is delicious and the fiery hot heat level lives up to its name. The collagen bone broth is flavoursome too.
Service is perfunctory but nothing more can be expected in a place like this. There's a small choice of beverages but they do have bottled beers.
Great place, dine in or take away. Interesting concept, you select the fresh products and they cook it into a Stir fry or a huge bowl of soup. A bit costly but great to experience.
Very nice. Lots of options and they taste good. Spicy and non spicy soup base. There is a vegetarian choice as well.
At Dragon Hot Pot, our soup bases are based on century old hot pot recipes. A combination of marrow bones cooked for over 12 hours, with more than 20 traditional Chinese herbs and a unique golden thick fragrant broth is what makes our hot pot stand out from the rest. Made to cook-to-order with over 100 ingredients to choose from, spiciness-your-way, our customers can create endless combinations of hot pot that’s guaranteed to be delicious, every time.
Good food , everything you visit you should try new things.
They don't take bookings. Hence sometimes you need to wait.
You can try your spice level.

I like the one at Kingsway (Glen Waverley area), instead of the one at Burwood Hwy. The one at Kingsway does their service fast, even for takeaways; and they also made the 'Dragon Hot' really hot, as what it should be.
Whilst the one at Burwood Hwy does their service very slow. Looked like they did put the dine in as their priority, since the people who did put their orders after me for the dine in got their food before me, whilst I had to wait for almost an hour to get my takeaway ready. Ridiculous! I'm not impressed with the one at Burwood Hwy.
Tasty food. Noticed some inconsistency in the depth of flavour of the broth. I believe the amount of paste they mix varies each time I go there. Found some items like the yam pieces a bit raw. Could have been booked for a bit more. Nevertheless, I love how you can pick whichever food you want to taste. A good variety of selection and I would say fair price as well. Food is prepared soon and fresh.
