There's something about hot chips that make them the ultimate comfort food, and I think we are all looking for a bit of comfort currently. We popped into Anna's for some takeaway lunch, and were quite happy with the service and time it took to cook our food.
Our chips and fish cakes had plenty of salt, and they were still crunchy by the time we got home. There's not much else to add about hot chips, but these definitely hit the spot.
My go to fish and chip shop, great service and the food is always delicious! Lovely staff and would definitely recommend.
Best fish n chips we have had in the Malvern/Hawthorn area. Would definitely recommend this place.
One possible improvement is the chips could be a bit more crispy, but everything else is cooked perfectly.
I decided to visit Anna's after getting a craving for a souvlaki and read the good reviews on Zomato.
I ordered a lamb souvlaki with minimum chips with chicken salt and I wasn't disappointed. The chips were cooked perfectly and the souvlaki was nice - however the pita did get abit soggy towards the end due to the garlic sauce. But overall I was satisfied.
I gave the store 4* just for value of money. We had the set for two (price has raised, it’s now $22). Look at that amount of fries for $3! We couldn’t even finish the fish. Fries was good, soft inside, I prefer crispy kind but my friend loves these. All of our sides (calamari rings, crab sticks, scallops) were delicious. Only the flake was kinda underwhelming. Will go back for value and the fact that this store is merely 2 mins walking from my house.
One of the better fish and chip shops in the area. And I love the old school fish and chipperies versus the chains. The chips are consistently crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, but never starchy! The souvlaki is filled with tender pieces of lamb, and lots of garlic/tzaziki sauce. The fish is always good quality, and lightly battered. Potato cakes can be a but salty but they’re still delicious! Good prices overall. Definitely recommend a visit if you live locally.
Good value fish and chips. If you go down the road towards the main strip you'll pay double price with more for the same thing - either because they put two slices of tomato and a leaf of lettuce with it... or more likely because there's seating to eat your meal. Anyway if your traditional fish and chip shop, done well, is what you're after this is where our family heads.
Came in with a friend after a long day. I just had the standard flake and fish, not only is the price unbelievably reasonable but it's also great value for what you get. I love the chips and the batter on the fish. It was quick and delicious, probably one of my favourite fish and chips shop.
Good price, tasty dependable food - grilled flake in particular was so good I ate it without any condiments, and my sister loved the calamari ring. The potato cake was good but a bit salty. Otherwise an enjoyable and good value meal.
Out first experience was on Good Friday, although the wait should have been long due to high demand, it seemed unreasonably long
The chips and potato cakes were perfectly crisp, and the variety of fish was brilliant, the grilled barramundi and blue grenadier were both delicious
